Day Twelve, Conclusion

All battles come to an end. Professor Chill and his henchpeople is defeated, the ice giant slain by the brave heroes of purple team. The townspeople led out of the tunnels and due to some extraordinary pun-hacking skills by Kaito the weather machine is de-powered.

Being a magical snowstorm the shutting down of the weather machine causes it to vanish, snow begins to melt and then evaporates into the air before it can become a larger problem in terms of a flood. The temperatures rise, going from dangerously cold to a warm spring day, warm enough that the voidtreckers will soon be too warm all bundled up as they are. The clouds disappear, the sun shines. Within a short period of time the streets are dry, the mountainsides are green and the trees are bright with flowers.

The streets are still a mess, property is damaged and the clean up operation is going to be intense but it doesn't look like there is any lasting ecological damage at least.

The ice labyrinth vanishes and those inside it will find themselves suddenly standing in the field below. For red team, the journey to the top of the mountain took four days in the blizzard but with the weather clear and going downhill they will reach the valley by the end of day eleven.

The army has arrived and mostly taken over gathering the injured and dealing with the more serious damage but there is plenty to do for those who still wish to help. Houses need put back to rights, streets and paths need sweeping of debris.

Help out, find your friends, swap stories. Celebrate a job well done.

Towards mid afternoon of day twelve a beeping from their SCA's should draw everyone's attention. The map leads them to a place just out of sight from the town and there is the Voidtrecker Express. It is time to leave.

He is slow in answering, as he forces his mind to work through the lingering haze and confusion.

"My head," he says carefully. "I hit it on the ice." He keeps it simple. The abrasions on his hands and the bruises already rising on the side of his arm were obvious enough.

Having the confirmation is good though, even though Raven suspected as much already. "I know it hurts--I'll help with that. Any other injuries?" Questions asked, then very softly under her breath she murmured her mantra. She was exhausted too, eyes glowing white as her Empathy and mental-presence slid against the upper layer of his mind. Dark feathers and silence, soothing and cool, moving to place herself between him and the worst of the pain while she assessed.

Of course, this meant she felt the pain too, and she couldn't stop a hint of wincing. "I'm afraid you're in for at least a week of boredom though. Or at least lots of reading. No TV or videogames."

Conan frowns as he forces his mind to think through the question. "Just bruises. My head was bleeding earlier, but that stopped."

Even through the fuzziness, his mind had the feel of focus and organization, of vast amounts of information carefully sorted and ordered in place.

It was not the mind of a child.

Raven had already suspected Conan wasn't quite normal, and thus the cursory glimpse she got at his mind and how NOT-childlike it was did not surprise her. Privacy was important to her though, which meant she respected other's privacy highly too. That cursory glimpse while blocking his pain and helping the healing process start was all she took note of, and was relegated to the background.

She had no need or want to pry, and it wasn't relevant to helping him heal.

"Doesn't seem like there's any internal-bleeding, which is good. You were lucky."

"I hate concussions," he grumbles. "Healing from them is so boring."

Raven made a sympathetic noise. "You remind me of one of my team-mates. He's not very good at sitting around either, unless something takes his notice to almost obsessive levels of interest. Usually that's when we worry though, because he tends to brood and shut us out."

At least he shouldn't be in any pain at the moment, with her blocking in place. Raven nudged the corners that dealt with healing and regeneration, giving them a bit of a jump. "Shouldn't be more than a week though, from my estimate. Once we're on the train we can give you aspirin or similar for pain instead of my blocking it, and as long as you do rest and don't strain yourself, you should be fine. I've given your own healing a bit of a boost."

He wasn't sure whether he should be flattered or offended.

He sighs.

"Thanks for the help. I guess I'm just going to be stuck with rest for a few days."

And hopefully this wouldn't end up like the last time he'd had a concussion.

Winding down?

"At least it'll only be a few days, presuming you take care of yourself." But Raven was trying to be hopeful about it. "I'll check on you when we're back on the train in a few days, alright?"
