Orange Team Finale

The orange team have a good hold of things. The shields keep strong and the attacks aren't overwhelming. Hopefully they do not get complacent because on the afternoon of the sixth day there is a roar as ships come towards them.

A pulse is fired from one of the ships and the shields go down, systems plunging dark. They have enough time to scramble to ships, those who have been working on the shields can start getting them back online, before the battle commences.

(OOC: This is a play your own monsters scenario, feel free to make up dramatic errors for shields for the void treckers to fix. Enemy soldiers will mostly be in ships but if you feel like having any epic one on one battles go for it!)

He nodded slightly, going to the place he was going to be shooting from and simply checking it over. Sure the controls were not something he knew extensively, but they looked similar enough that it would be like playing a video game.

A very real type of video game. Which made the young man a more than a little nervous. but soon he got ready and glanced over.

"Let's go."

The flight controls and the gun controls were more or less self-explanatory, once you knew what they were for.

Curufin smiled at Yugi. "Yes, let's do it!"

And he pushed the stick forward and took the craft out of the hanger. Once out, they roared off into space and headed for the battle. One of the Empire ships saw them coming and peeled off its formation, coming at them with guns blazing.

Yugi was more than a little nervous, but with a small breath he managed to somewhat calm himself down moment sb before they took off. This was all new having to actually shoot something that wasn't in a video game.

It was two different things... He honestly wasbn't sure what to make of it, but right now there hadn't been much of a choice. It was very much needed.

Eyes looked over seeing the empire ships and his hands moved along the controls to star6t aiming. Once he was sure that they were in the firing line he pressed the button to start the gun off.

Direct hit on one, but the others had managed to avoid it and flew off in different directions.

"Okay so we need to figure out which one to go for first."

Everybody's nervous in their first real space battle! Especially in this kind, where there is so much at stake. This wasn't Curufn's first space battle, but he was still fairly new to this sort of war.

"You got them!" shouted Curufin, grinning at Yugi. The ship Yugi had hit exploded in fragments while the others fled.

"Let's go for the nearest, and that would be. . . that one," added Curufin, responding to his shipmate's question. The Empire vessel that seemed not quite willing to leave the scene, and was beginning to come about in a great circle that would bring it back around towards Yugi's and Curufin's ship. "Think you can hit it from this distance?"

It was vastly different from the video games, more so at the realization at what he was really doing. There were actually people on those ships, but he also knew that it was either they got shot out or many more people might get hurt if they aren't... It was a dilemma that he didn't like at all.

So he was deciding for the moment to just focus on the task. Looking around he was quietly judging if he could.

"I can try, but no promises."

Curufin was no video game player, but he was a fighter. It was true that killing was a moral dilemma, and it was also true that in war, it was kill or be killed, or watch others be killed. Curufin hadn't had to think about this since early adulthood, because his life had been war and his values were already formed, but he'd have understood Yugi's concerns.

"All right, I'll move us into position." They zoomed towards the oncoming ship. "Fire when ready!"

Yugi nodded slightly, a little bit more nervous than he had been five minutes ago. He knew that it had to be done it was them or more people being hurt or worse. So when he looked around checking where they were he get the gun ready to aim.

"Just a little closer..." He said before nodding to himself again and firing. The first shot just missed, but the other had moved at the last second cause Yugi to become slightly annoyed briefly. "okay... was maybe a little off. Can we follow him?"

Curufin answered, "Yes, we can!" He grinned and did the space pilot equivalent of stomping on the gas. They sped towards the target ship, bringing it within easy range. Of course that meant that they were within its range as well, and it started firing at Yugi's and Curufn's fighter.

Yugi knew that if he didn't hit it this time that the odds were they were going to get hit and that was not a good thing at all.

So taking aim again and making sure that this time it would work, he fired.

Target Hit. "Got them... How many are left? I saw at least one."

Curufin grinned and gave a whoop as Yugi fired and hit the target. "Got them!"

He scanned the space around them and answered, "Four, but three of them are running. The fourth is coming back around. Let's blast that one!"

And so it went.
