Memory Cave

After the passengers see a glimpse of a life that is not their own they appear in a cave. It is light, a strange moss glowing on the walls and ceiling illuminates the cave nicely and it is large enough for them to pace around in without trouble.

They are not alone. In the cave with them is another voidtrecker. Maybe someone they know well, maybe someone they have only seen in the aisles of the train. But they are together in this cave together.

The cave has no exit, at least not yet. They know that it will, eventually. When the time is right.

But for that time to come, they first must talk...

"Lord Zetta, thanks." At the moment, he was so tired of being a book. Remembering what having a body was like lost a lot of its appeal when it was a body like Ifrit's. "So, I've been seeing your memories, huh?"

"And I saw yours! You're an Overlord! And now you're a book that rescues lost cats."

Maybe a little too much information right there, Ifrit.

"Hold on! That was because I was stuck as a god, not because I was stuck as a book! Don't confuse the two!"

Zetta had his own priorities as well.

"Book, god-book, overlord, whatever. You're still a book in the end."

That's.... one way to look at it. Fire beats book.

"What did... what did YOU see? If you saw anything embarrassing, I'll burn you down to cinders!"

Zetta considered the complex, nuanced scene that had played out in his mind, its subtleties and intricacies, everything it implied and everything it laid bate.

"You got a feather," he said.

Ifrit's hand reaches up to touch the feather hanging from her choker. So he saw that, huh?

"Then you know that this is an important gift from Silence. You'd better not get any funny ideas!"

"What funny ideas would I get?! Stealing it from you and mocking you over it wouldn't be evil, it'd just be pathetic." Unless she became an enemy or something. "What kind of a name is Silence anyway? Sounds like something you'd need a snake to beat."
