Memory Cave

After the passengers see a glimpse of a life that is not their own they appear in a cave. It is light, a strange moss glowing on the walls and ceiling illuminates the cave nicely and it is large enough for them to pace around in without trouble.

They are not alone. In the cave with them is another voidtrecker. Maybe someone they know well, maybe someone they have only seen in the aisles of the train. But they are together in this cave together.

The cave has no exit, at least not yet. They know that it will, eventually. When the time is right.

But for that time to come, they first must talk...

Alice blinks at his reaction, looking rather surprised. She almost instinctively replies that it's not as if there's anyone currently around to get any ideas about him in the first place, but then she realises just what he is. Maybe there could be some greater beings listening in on them, who knows.

And no matter how tactless she may seem at times, Alice would always respect the wishes of people she likes. Like Crowley. So she momentarily - somewhat idly - moves a hand up to her lips, like she's preventing anything else from coming out before she's thoroughly considered the words.

"Can I at least think it?" She has no idea how far his concern goes when it comes to this, after all. "I'm afraid it would be rather difficult to change my opinion of you at this point."

Including the fact that he shouldn't have to face yet another apocalypse eventually - no matter how much of an inevitable it may be.

While he's certain there are no other occult beings listening in on them, it's just a sore subject at this point. Demons are not supposed to be nice, or kind, or good, or any other four letter word that might fit the theme. And while deep down he knows he is those things, but he still feels weird hearing them. Call it a complex. Least of all using those words to describe Crowley might damage his spooky and mysterious image.

"Your thoughts are your own." he replies, almost lazily, stretching his arms as he looks about the cave, only now realizing there isn't an exit.

"Now that's annoying..." he mutters, "I'd really like to be relaxing in the hot springs right now..."

That answer seems to satisfy her enough. But then those words that follow it.. That's so much like what she's seen from him so far. Being stuck in a cave after seeing someone else's memories and someone else having seen your own, and just talking about wanting to be in the hot springs instead.

Thankfully Alice isn't really freaking out either though. It's an odd feeling, but it's like she somehow knows there will be an exit soon enough. Like waiting for an elevator that could appear at any moment now, to use a metaphor from beyond her time.

"You'll at least let me know if you happen to see anything else that could come from my memories while taking a hot springs soak later, right?"

If there's anything to note about Crowley, it's that he'd much rather be lounging around somewhere enjoying himself than doing anything that takes work, and this is no exception. Alice's company isn't the problem, he quite enjoys her, but the cave isn't exactly the most comfortable and scenic place on the island to be.

"Of course." he scoffs, as if him doing anything on the contrary would be absurd. "We don't need to share these with anyone outside of this cave either, as far as I'm concerned."

"I would appreciate that."

She means that it sounds like a good idea to her, of course, but for Crowley she's willing to throw just that slight extra edge in of showing that his secrecy would mean quite a bit to her. Some people on the train seem to like her for some reason, and she'd rather not ruin that instantly.

She doesn't think Crowley's memories would do him much of a disservice though, but she'll keep them to herself all the same.

"I mean, we might as well, if whatever is causing us to see these memories gave us enough privacy by throwing us into this strange prison cave."

"Of course," he begins, squinting as he notices an exit. He's certain it wasn't there before, that it had just arrived as if on cue.

"Was that there?" he questions her, moving to stand and inspect it. "I suppose we should get going... I imagine I've left Aziraphale quite worried."

Alice stands up as well, following him. She too glances at the door for a moment before looking back at Crowley and nodding.

"Right." It actually raises quite some questions. How long have they been here? Did anyone notice they were gone? Did this happen to anyone else?

But those are questions that can wait for when they get out of there.

"Well, even if it ends up not being an exit, it certainly can't bring us somewhere worse, so.." Alice's voice trails off as she moves through it.

A moment later she finds herself back where she was before she suddenly got that flash of memory. She looks around, just in case, but.. no Crowley nearby.

.. How odd.
