Memory Cave

After the passengers see a glimpse of a life that is not their own they appear in a cave. It is light, a strange moss glowing on the walls and ceiling illuminates the cave nicely and it is large enough for them to pace around in without trouble.

They are not alone. In the cave with them is another voidtrecker. Maybe someone they know well, maybe someone they have only seen in the aisles of the train. But they are together in this cave together.

The cave has no exit, at least not yet. They know that it will, eventually. When the time is right.

But for that time to come, they first must talk...

"Thank you, I just get carried away, sometimes. I'm hoping that as bad as things are right now, when we come out the other side things will be better."

She lapsed into silence a bit, thinking about home.

"...What about you? What happened to Renji? How did you end up in...whatever Liminal Space is? If you don't mind me asking."

Getting carried away is something that Uta could definitely relate to. Being quite a cynic he had nothing positive to say about how things may turn out, so he simply held his tongue. He may have something to add if circumstances were different and she were at home - it takes one person to make a difference, but they were here, she was not at home, so who was to say that her world wouldn't be obliterated by the time she made it home.

"I fear my life at home is not quite as exciting. I eventually opened my shop and made masks for people. Renji-kun and I are actually very good friends and we spent quite a bit of time together." They grew strong together, really. His next comment is quite has a note of sadness. "He was doing well when I was taken." He paused for a moment to ruminate, then continued.

"Making it to Liminal was much like ending up on the platform for the train. You're home one moment, somewhere else the next. I had a meeting with the being that took me from my home, though. They were less inclined to keep us in the dark."
