Memory Cave

After the passengers see a glimpse of a life that is not their own they appear in a cave. It is light, a strange moss glowing on the walls and ceiling illuminates the cave nicely and it is large enough for them to pace around in without trouble.

They are not alone. In the cave with them is another voidtrecker. Maybe someone they know well, maybe someone they have only seen in the aisles of the train. But they are together in this cave together.

The cave has no exit, at least not yet. They know that it will, eventually. When the time is right.

But for that time to come, they first must talk...

He let his hands fall and floated the mug back to himself. He took a sip settling in on the air as if ti was a comfortable chair. "Beyond your name, none of what you said made sense to me," he said with a small smile. "But I am certain you will explain?" Despite the word 'certain', it was phrased both as a question and an invitation.

She shook her head at the display of his power, idly wondering (and hoping) that Kenshi was alright. The telepath had been her strongest friend and ally since the first Netherrealm war, but their connection was such that he often went away for years at at time, and for his safety, actual contact between them was very rare.

The last time she even heard from him was last year.

For her part, she chose to sit down on a standing rock, her focus constantly on the structure around them. "It was a preemptive strike against an enemy and weaken their strong hold. One company was meant to go and distract their forces, while the rest of us went down to the foundations to destroy them. Something went wrong, we were found out, they tried to trap us inside, but not before I was able to set off the explosives and buy the rest of the Company a chance to escape."

Perhaps it wasn't as detailed a story as he would've liked, but it was the gist of it, and as much as she could've told without getting emotional over things. She hadn't even spoken about it all that much with Cassie; neither wanted to face the reality (however inevitable it might be) of loosing the other in Action.

He would've noticed some similarities between her story though, and the vision he held that day in the supplies car.

"But you can see why I'm not so keen on being any place resembling underground."

He nodded. "Had I the powers of a Black Widow, I'd offer an illusion to make this less uncomfortable, but" he gestured to himself, "male." There were exactly two male Black Widows in the history of the Blood and they were extreme exceptions. "If I could detect the Winds, I could get us out of here but..." he shrugged. "I could try to make the pass and see how deep it is, then come back to get you if it is not too far, if you wish it."

She shook her head. "I appreciate it, but I'd still know." Nice as an illusion would be, in the back of her mind, she'd still know it as sorcery.

He did have something though. "Drafts though...if we could find something of a draft, it would mean we're not so far under and could possibly find a way out."

Or worst case scenario, they would find a way out, but it might weaken and they (she) would find herself buried again. "Can you make shields in a hurry? Like split seconds or do you need a few minutes for the ritual or spell?"

"I can make them as fast as thought, but if you think we may need them, there is no reason to wait. I have a dark enough reserve to shield you now. I am already shielded. Yaslana would skin me alive if I wasn't in the habit of keeping up skintight shields at all times while here."

"So that's a yes then." Not that she could blame anyone for wanting someone-whoever this person was-shielded, however she didn't know them and right now she wanted out of this place.

Carefully, she started exploring the room, keeping extra alert for anything that might hint to a way out. Part of her almost felt sorry for it, the cave was pretty and another time and place she would've loved to explore it, but her brain wouldn't allow it.

Something else occurred to her. "Do the names...Morghann and Jaenelle..mean anything to you?"

Her voice is reserved, but in the memory, she was addressed by his name...not her own. She needed confirmation.

His head shot up, suddenly alert. "Yes. Yes I do. Morghann is my wife, and my Queen. Jaenelle is THE Queen. And our close friend."

"Those names mean nothing to me." She says this as matte-of-fact, not from scorn. "What the hell are your memories doing in my head?"

She wasn't a telepath; and what she knew of magic, she knew something like this wouldn't just be a 'one-time thing' nor could it just be stressed or she would've had multiple chances now.

"You were invited to a party..a sort of reunion between everyone. The women called.." She frowned, trying to piece it all together. "No, they addressed 'me' as Khary, but it was like I was experiencing the memory as you."

And the names meant nothing to her; she had no point of reference to even associate with this bit of his history.

"And I yours, I would guess.. with as little clue why. But..." he hesitated. "Was there a young man there, about my age, fair skinned, fair hair, light blue eyes, named Morton?" That... that would give him a good idea of the time period at least, though the memories hurt. Kaelas would be another good marker, but he'd watched the Arcenian grow up, if he tried to describe the cat as he was now, he'd be describing a one ton mass of muscle and fur, but when he was a kitten he'd almost managed to be small...

"Morton..." She frowned. "I don't..there's a young man who fits that, but there's no mention of a name. There's someone called Chaosti, that I felt some connection to. " And while she got the emotions from his memories, that was it; if a person didn't say their name, she couldn't recall it. "There were...beings who looked like centaurs, and kids who I swear had tiger stripes on them."

"The location was a..not a fortress, I'd call it almost a palace of sorts, with the name SaDiablo Hall." She recalled seeing the invitation and the name on it; that should make it easier to recall then anything else.

He smiled at Chaosti's name. And the other descriptions. "That's where Jaenelle lives most of the year, and myself and the others you saw, we are her Court." Didn't tell him timing, though it helped. Only a few times had they ever been all together in the Hall. But was it the first time? During her recovery? During the war?

"Chaosti and Aaron are two of my best friends."
