Memory Cave

After the passengers see a glimpse of a life that is not their own they appear in a cave. It is light, a strange moss glowing on the walls and ceiling illuminates the cave nicely and it is large enough for them to pace around in without trouble.

They are not alone. In the cave with them is another voidtrecker. Maybe someone they know well, maybe someone they have only seen in the aisles of the train. But they are together in this cave together.

The cave has no exit, at least not yet. They know that it will, eventually. When the time is right.

But for that time to come, they first must talk...

"Always possible, but why does it seem like a one on one kind of thing. Why in such a way?" She did somewhat agree that it was rude as well. "It is rude to force it though, especially if they show something people might not want to have seen,"

"Agreed - I've no real problems with the memories that have been shown on my side, but equally, neither have been particularly sensitive ones... And neither yours nor mine seem to have a common theme. Why, they're vastly disparate in time! As the one with Earwen was... mm, the last time I saw Earwen was shortly before I came here, in fact. And I have not seen any of my sons in several hundred years, let alone held them."

"So there is no theme to what memories are shown either. But it seems like the first memory had one thing in common and that is the fact it was close to the point before we came here... Maybe, I'm not certain on that one."

[marriedanidiot]

"Oh! Was yours as well? That might be one, yes. Let me think....I am not sure what relevance the second has. Was it a birth? If so....that was...why, millenia ago!"

"I mean if the first memory you got of mine had certain people in it, it would have been very shortly before I arrived here." She was mostly talking about Flynn for the most part.

"I don't know much about the second one. The only thing you mentioned about mine was that my hair healed...That could be any number of times I've used it in the past for Mother. Though I have used it on Pascal at least once."

"I only remember a young man tied up." She smiles. "Was that the one you were thinking of?"

She hums thoughtfully. "Who is Pascal? It was a small lizard ... a chameleon, I think."

"That's right. He is named Flynn Rider. At least that was what he told me." At the mention of Pascal Rapunzel suddenly realized he waasn't actually around, so she spun around to try and see if he was there before looking back.

"Chameleon is correct. He's my best friend. Until here he was my only friend to."

She considers. "Was it a first meeting then? If it was a birth, that might also be considered a first meeting for me, as well."

"It depends on what the memory you saw of me was exactly. It's always possible depending on what memory it was." Though given what she said she could at least give a guess.

[marriedanidiot]

"Hm. So we have, as a theme, perhaps our most recent memory before coming here and... possibly a first meeting of someone important to us. It certainly seems a good way to get us to know each other, but beyond that... I do not know. Were you able to find any clues?"

She shook her head slightly. She didn't think to even look for clues, but looking around she didn't see anything that would help them solve the problem.

"I can't say I saw any clues."

[marriedanidiot]

"I suppose it was too much to hope it would be easy!" She sighs and then smiles.

"Well, I suppose we have the beginnings of a theme, at least. I hope that will be the end of it, but who knows?"

"I think this will last until we leave, maybe? Which... Isn't that fun, but maybe we'll figure more out then." Maybe even more if there is a theme for a reason why each of them was picked to see each others memories.

But soon she turned her head and noticed something.

"Were the doors there before?"

She looks up and frowns.

"No. This does rather make it seem more an island thing, doesn't it? I am sure they weren't there before."

We can handwave it if you'd like.

"I mean when we came they weren't here before. So I can only assume that for once this isn't anything to do with the train."

But it just makes it all the more puzzling. if this was meant to be a place to relax, this sure wasn't a way to do that.

"Yes." She frowns thoughtfully at the doors.

"Still, I suppose we had best leave while we still can."

I'll be happy to handwave.

"Yes, I mean a cave can be...nice and all....But I don't think I'd like to live here for long periods." She was trying to make a joke, but really... it would just remind her of being trapped in the tower.

"Agreed. And if we were going to live in a cave, I can think of much nicer ones!"

"There are nicer ones?"

"Oh yes!" She smiles.

"Tis too bad Findarato has not been brought here... I never saw his kingdom, but they say Nargothrond was a marvel, the natural caves that the River Narog made enlarged and coaxed into grand halls and fine rooms. And Elwe too, made his keep in a cave, and they say that the wonder of Menegroth, the Thousand Caves, was such that it has never been matched and never will be."

"So people did live in caves there then?" It's what it sounded like anyway, but she couldn't be exactly sure either.

[marriedanidiot]

"Oh yes! Not in Aman, at least, not amongst the Noldor, although for all I know the Sindar in the woods might return to such ways when Elwe is Reborn. But Findarato has assured me that Nargothrond was both beautiful and functional. Easy to defend, caves."

She nodded slightly, listening to what she had to say for the most part. But soon she was looking over things again, thinking she saw something out of the corner of her eye.

"it seems like the cave is allowing us to leave now at least."

[marriedanidiot]

"Ah!" Nerdanel follows her eyes and smiles. "So it has. Shall I see you on the other side then?"

"Hopefully." She said looking at the door, giving a small breath before she went to walk through.
