"Welcome to Jinnjar City! A city famed as the central power of all of Diagad, and where the magic happens. It has a big history: the birthplace of the first Heroes Association that led to the creation of the Interstellar Justice Alliance, the protectors of the universe. Compared to other places, Diagad's what many people call a superheroes world, but that isn't true. A lot of us don't have the crazy powers that some of the popular folks have! And people like me? We don't care about saving the world! I'm just trying to make it through school, hang out with friends. Live my life!

People tell thousands of stories about us though, and that I can be proud of. When other planets call for help, it's us that comes running to their aid. Our heroes put their lives on the line for anyone who needs a hand, and sure, I don't count myself one of them... but I want to share their story anyway.

Well, I don't need to be telling you about this city, do I? You're a part of it! Always have been, just like me. So I should talk about some funny stuff that's been going on lately instead…”

A TL;DR notes version of days/prompts: (click to show)

EVENT BASICS: Un-apped AU characters were taken 1 week before the event from their own worlds, their minds altered to believe they were always from Jinnjar, Diagad. They have a superpower because of this and a new life either living alone or with family (other NPCs or PCs). Go to the OOC post for more info.

DAYS ONE-TWO:

• Strange streams of colour in the sky have appeared, and looking at them for too long causes strange headaches. At this point you’re not sure what they’re about, but you can investigate them. However, trying to get right close to them is impossible. You will never get high enough. Regardless, let us know if characters will be investigating anything!
  
  
• Voidtreckers arrive, be on the lookout. People are excited about finding these infamous criminals, and may be bothering those wearing peculiar watches, or the colours of Blue, Red, Purple, or Orange. You might be one of them: the bothered, or botheree. Many games or movie criminals are some adaptation of these Voidtreckers. A lot of people are worried they’re behind the phoenonem in the sky.
  
  
• Nevertheless, people will still have their own lives to deal with, regardless of worrying events. Play around with what job your character has, if they’re in school, what work they do; if they’re drawn to a night life or just hanging around wherever they like. Characters not used to technology in-canon may find themselves having trouble with this world (despite believing they’ve always lived here).
  
  
• Some of the Voidtreckers who are most resistant to illusions and mind control will be breaking out by the end of the first day. They will have to lay low and plot in secret, figure out how to make contact with others. The SCA comms do not work.
  
  
• Other Voidtreckers might begin having dreams about their past by day 2-3.

DAYS THREE-FOUR:

• Those who have been brought to the world begin to dream of their real and past lives, if just in very small and confusing snippets. Some of those dreams may bleed into reality, and people may start to recognise absolute strangers, but don't quite always know why. This is stronger for Voidtreckers than 4th wallers.
  
  
• Random electronics seem to be glitching in odd ways, particularly the training centres, which lock people in together, even random strangers. Mostly it's harmless and more of a pain. People also swear they think they see the tops of buildings 'glitching' or colouring out. People have been speaking about pets going missing on walks, though the zoos and such are mostly fine, save for some of the higher up bird sanctuaries.
  
  
• More of the Voidtreckers and some of the more resilient guests will begin realising the reality of the place they find themselves in. That this is not their own world at all.
  
  
• The propaganda of the city starts to escalate, warnings about the dangerous voidtreckers and reminding people of how great the city is.

DAYS ONE & TWO: SLICES OF LIFE

---

"This is an emergency broadcast to everyone in Jinnjar City. At 08:00 today, a breach into the city was attempted by the invading force known as the Voidtreckers, who have tried countless times before to take over Diagad for themselves. While it's believed the group was resisted, citizen are advised to watch out for anyone acting suspiciously in the city, and to watch out for this emblem. Please call the D-F-O-R-C-E hotline if you see anyone you suspect of being an intruder! Remember to keep low altitudes while we deal with the phenomenon above."

[ RAINBOW SKIES. ] "Everyone's been speculating about what's been going on up above. About a week ago, these long streams of twisting colours suddenly spread through the purple skies of Diagad, rainbow colours inking the clouds. They've been growing out, like merging with the sky itself, and news broadcasts have been telling people not to worry. But what even are they? They say that looking at them for too long causes headaches, while some swear up and down they've seen things in them! I've heard a couple of friends talking about investigating them, but I dunno..."

▷ Twisting streams of colour are becoming exposed in the sky, and indeed, those who look too long high up will find themselves receiving headaches and dizziness. They’ll fade once you look away, but those who do decide to investigate by getting close will experience a tug, as if something yearns to take them somewhere. There will be patrolling Heroes - this world's equivalent of police - keeping an eye on things. Maybe your character is one of them, or posing as one. Maybe your character wants to learn more about what these are. Regardless, they won’t be able to get significantly close to the streams no matter how high they aim.

[ THE VOIDTRECKERS. ] "Gossip is HOT about these Voidtreckers. I remember seeing a movie about them once, based on something that happened years ago. They tried hacking their way into taking over a dyson sphere being built - like a giant structure around a star. There's other stories about them too, but are they really the ones behind this? Who are we even meant to be on the lookout for? I don't know... I'm kinda spooked. But do they seriously ride around in a flying train?"

▷ You've heard about the Voidtreckers, whether you remember stories about them or not. Are you bothered about them? The news broadcasts say they got rid of them - then why are they asking people to look out? And what are you supposed to look out for? On top of the emblem, there's chatter going on about watching out for people wearing strange devices on their wrists, and wearing colours of Blue, Red, Purple, and Orange.

Will you defend your city from these mysterious foes? Be smart about it, or rash? Or maybe you're interested to know more for your own deeds… whether or not they’re the Voidtreckers of tale, they may have resources for furthering your own goals.

[ LIVING YOUR LIFE. ] “But nevermind all that! Life’s about having fun and hanging out with your friends too. I work part time, but I’ve got plans after my shift’s done! Doing some shopping, going to see a movie. I can’t stress out about the funny stuff going on. And I heard the new waiter in my favourite cafe is suuuper cute!”

▷ Despite the few anomalies going on, you still have a life part of Jinnjar City. You have a job filled with devices that you’ve been surrounded by all your life, or certainly longer than a week or, so you know how to work a coffee machine, right? You know how to drive an air taxi!

And where would you take one to? To anywhere: to the gym, one of the training centres, a spa, to the movies - normal things that everyone around the city have always been around. Meet up with some friends for fruit smoothies, or watch one of the shadow displays held by the Georgi’s Gang around every street, putting on shows to mesmerise and delight the kids.

Or how about buying your groceries to take back to your apartment or house? You know what all these fruits are! Right? Right?

… … maybe it’s produce from another planet.

DAYS THREE & FOUR: JUST ANOTHER NORMAL DAY

[ DREAMS. ] “Dreams are just dreams, but a lot of people have been talking about them. Like, really being disturbed by them? Not in a creepy ohhh a monster’s coming for me! way, but like, they say they see worlds they swear they’ve been to before. Or see people? I wouldn’t really think about it except, there’s this guy… not like a super cute guy, but someone I think I knew…”

▷ Talk about dreams have been popular lately, though not everyone has them - or, not right away. Sometimes people may be at work, in school, doing nothing in particular when a name (important to their real self) appears in their mind, a flash of scenery. Coming as quickly as it goes. They don’t know what it means, if it isn’t just a symptom of the latest weird gossip influencing them.

But it sticks with you, something you can’t completely dismiss. But surely it’s nothing - right?

[ ANOMALIES. ] ”Just what we need! My friend’s dog’s gotten lost! She was taking him for a walk, and then she just says he went running ahead, and poof! Disappeared! Maybe he saw a cat? He’s always been a lazy chubby thing, but even dogs can’t help themselves, I guess…”

▷ The colours in the sky seem brighter today, closer...but it’s difficult to say for some, unless you’re actively studying them. Sometimes when you look above, you might catch - if just for a second - the tops of roofs glitching out, corners or streaks erased, colours meshing with the walls. You think it might be the light or your eyes, as it never lasts long, and even standing around waiting to see it happen again won’t give you what you want.

You may have other things to worry about than tricks of the light. Animals have simply been...disappearing, and always the ones owned, or particularly birds that fly around freely. People will ask you for help, and it’s weird they need to. Most owners have a tracker chip and app, and either apps show a blank map, or show them just standing in place...a place that when you get there, is nothing, no one.

[ TRAINING CENTRE. ]
“Really though, other than the weird sky business and how jumpy the news has made everyone about the Voidtreckers, the only odd thing that’s been up is some weird stuff happening at the training gyms. Even I saw it! I was just doing my warm-ups for the day when the field I set it to, the sky...these shapes suddenly appeared, dark and looming. It seriously creeped me out. But it’s just a glitch, right?”

▷ Young or old, the training centres around the central district are a popular spot for everyone to give their powers a safe space to be unleashed. While there’s basic simulations that’s free for everyone to use, people can be personal trainers, or even run group sessions in the bigger rooms.

Sessions aren’t always linked, since getting private training is allowed. However, lately, people keep getting jumped into other’s sessions, and can’t get out until they finish the routine. Sometimes they’re simple, where you need to destroy building block-esque cubes, or superspeed through courses twenty times. But then there’s also story modes, such as…

Castle Defence: Help protect the castle of Erna from the tricky Voidtreckers! They’re trying to storm the castle, and the world needs your power to help keep them away. Difficulty is based on the amount of people present, and speed of the individual. Do you turn things green? Then turning a Voidtrecker green will make them pop! Good job!

Kama Aid: Floating spheres have been lured inside a giant 3-tiered labyrinth ball. You must help the spheres - come in optional people-shaped or even cute animals - be released back outside where the air is fresh. Use telekinesis to tilt the tiers like a ball tilting game, or use super-strength to destroy the different tiers!

Dia Mysteries: A theft, vandalism, maybe even a murder. The crime scene is locked down, and something is afoot. Use your telepathy to gain information from the suspects, sneak into a secure area under invisibility... the solution is yours to find in this investigative simulation.

[ A PSA or Six. ] ”Stay vigilant citizens of Diagad. Please report any suspicious behavior to the DFORCE force.”

Announcements blare from speakers on public transport. Adverts pop up as they scroll through Diagnet. All remind citizens to be on their guard, report strange or disturbing behaviour and keep a look out for any of the symbols or colours of the Voidtreckers.

"Heroes don't keep secrets! If you have suspicions about any dangerous people in our midst, let your local DFORCE force know. Speak the Truth. Save the World."

▷ Billboards are plastered with bold posters reminding citizens to keep an eye out for the Voidtreckers or anyone who they might have tried to sway to their side. For those beginning to glimpse that this city might not be what they once had thought, this could be dangerous especially if their families and friends believe the city truly is under threat.

[ 1: TRAINING CENTRE ]

[ a: a helping hand ] It's not the job of engineers to get personal with those visiting the training centres, but with the strange hiccups happening lately in the rooms, a pink-haired lady stands by one of the halls leading to the rooms, scooting herself right in front of someone who happens to be coming down to take a room, her hands clapping together.

"Hiii! I'm doing some analysis on the rooms' response sensors to different training sessions. You don't mind if I stand in with you, do you? I'll be out of your way," she promises.

She's wearing a staff ID and appears dressed like a worker, and there's even one of the centre's many droid helps floating beside here, beeping and giving a slightly digitalised "Hello!" if looked at. There has been word around about the rooms acting odd lately around the city...

[ b: a helping paw ] There's always someone making improvements, up to something. A city like Jinnjar is rarely dull, and even in the lobby of the training centre, there's a potential new addition brought to help people have a little company while they're stopping by.

Why? Plenty of reasons can be made up, but a droid help known to usually project animals from a distance now can project it around itself, concealing itself entirely. Have a life-like cat purr in the seat next to you, looking to curl onto your lap; have a puppy at your feet because you happened to look lonely!

...but, like all wonderful experiments - and even the tech behind it! - someone is getting too into becoming animals, and you might find as a giant bird is flapping around the place, squawking its head off! Or meet eyes with a st. bernard.

It's coming for you.

[ 2: OUT AND ABOUT ]

[ a: nosing around town ] But being away from work never stops Bracken from finding more to do - honestly, what does being away from work mean? She's friendly with any of the android or machinery that fill the streets to promote their shops, or even work their own shops. Do you happen to be that robot she's coming over to say hi to? Or do you own or work with it?

She speaks to even the machines that you wouldn't think would have a voice. Even at the automatic doors that open with a small hiccup into a clothing door, Bracken stops and looks up. "Oh, no. Aren't you feeling too good?"

This woman could even be trying to get coffee or some food, and if there's a machine that seems to be 'misbehaving', she'll speak up - and maybe it's to you, as you're the one at work - and offer: "Can I take a look at that?"

Well, less offer, and more like ask.

[ b: meeting up ] For those who could do with a friendly, technopathic inventor for a pal, even just for company or because they need someone to talk to outside their family, this 30 something lady is willing to meet up with people, younger or at her age.

She helps people who need to wear devices to keep control of their powers, and she's even been prototyping some others: devices that can take in the energy from powers, and to turn it into useable energy in day-to-day products.

For whatever reason you may want to meet up, Bracken is there, at the coffee shop or somewhere more private, all smiles and with a pal of hers floating around, as one always is, willing to start the conversation:

"So, how's life treating you?"

[ 3: home life ]

[ a: noisy neighbours ] Living next or on the same street as Bracken can bring some fun. With Garie, ever the...colourful speaker (of which she's surely had someone ask, 'Can't you programme her to have a better attitude?', and to which she's thrown back, 'Can someone reprogramme you to have one, buster?'), and also with Bracken's inventions, which she isn't against taking on the front lawn - a mess of grass and weeds, unless Garie cares to have it tidied (or anyone else who might like to be married to this never-stop-tinkering lady) - with her larger projects.

Even just robot cats, droids less human shaped but used for schoolrooms, business places; some that are just her own pet projects. Have you asked Bracken to fix anything? Even something as simple as your coffee machine. Come over and ask about it - or even question why it seems to be giving you an attitude these days.

You just may need to get her attention first as she seems more compelled to talk to half-taken apart ... something, than paying attention to what's around her. "Now, you don't need to worry about that, you look great. And once I get inside you, you're going to be perfect!"

Garie is approaching at some point while Bracken is working on the lawn. Or more precisely, while she is on the lawn, working. Nobody's touched that lawn to work on it in a long while. Which might be an issue.

"Heeeey, we got mail." Garie holds a folded sheet of paper between her fingers, offering it to her roommate slash caretaker slash whatever.

She'll summarize the contents, though. "I guess it ends up that when you live in a nice neighborhood, people expect you to take care of your lawn or something. Stupid, right?"

In other words, the letter is a complaint from their home-owner association. The real villains of the city.

Loki (Odinson) | MCU AU/CRAU | 4th Wall | OTA

1. Rainbow Skies

[Loki Odinson, beloved Hero in his own city and newly transferred to Jinnjar to help deal with some impending crisis, looks up at the ribbons of color and the sky and shudders before quickly looking away. He doesn't know what those are, but they must be the threat. And he understands right away why they would be. In the second he watched them, he felt them pulling him, trying to lure him off the ground. No. He's far enough away from his loved ones already. He won't go any farther. Particularly not at the call of something that threatens to disturb the peace. He walks on, gaze firmly below the horizon.]

2. Voidtreckers/On the Job

[Now he knew why he was needed, and instead of putting him at ease, it just added to his worries. They were here to cause trouble, but what? And why? And they could be anywhere... He's careful not to let his discomfort show as he patrols, chatting up shopkeepers and answering citizens' questions. Not with anything alarming, of course; causing a panic is probably what these Treckers want. No, he'll always reassure everyone that there's nothing to worry about, but if they do notice something odd, to please tell him or the city's permanent Heroes.

[He doesn't like thinking about it, and doesn't know who to report it to, but he's already noticed something odd himself. Rumors are flying about the Voidtreckers, as to be expected, and nobody knows that much about them- not even him. Everything he knows, some random citizen has also heard. But as a Hero brought in specifically to help with them, shouldn't he know more? Maybe there isn't more to know- but then how do others know so much? Sometimes flashes of these thoughts show on his face despite his best efforts.]

3. Dreams

[Loki's been given an apartment, of course, but he hasn't been sleeping in it much. Because he hasn't been sleeping much. How can a Hero sleep when the city is under such an insidious threat? He's often at coffee shops, downing caffeine to stay awake, not always successfully.

[This afternoon, he's in one of his usual haunts when he starts to nod off. A muscular blond man joins him at his table and looks at him sadly. "Brother, wake up, please. Don't give in to this lie." Tears welling in his eyes, he whispers, "I can't give up. It's who I am." The man shakes his head; "No, this is not you. You don't have to be me. Be yourself and live free. Please, brother." He reaches out his hand- or does Loki reach out for him? -and he suddenly wakes with a start. The seat opposite his is empty, of course.

[Loki absently wipes his face, surprised that it's wet. Was he crying? Why? Why would a strange dream affect him so? It's not even as if he has a brother. He dries his face with a napkin, hoping nobody noticed the Hero showing weakness or doubt. Or overheard him talking in his sleep.]

4. Training Center

[Training. Training is good. It keeps him focused. And he can citizens train, too, so they can defend themselves against the enemy Treckers. He's still trying to act like it's no big deal and will be dealt with soon, but he feels like he's coming apart at the seams, and the mask keeps dropping.

[And he keeps doubting himself. When he picks out a weapon to drill with, he keeps automatically reaching for a dagger before catching himself and selecting his usual baton. When he's using his lightning as an obstacle to help others learn to dodge, sometimes he stops, wondering how he did that, as if he hadn't had the power all his life. One time he even forgot how to shoot lightning! How could that happen? But it had just felt- wrong for a brief moment.

[At least he can blame his little slip-ups on sleep deprivation. Hel, that might even be all it was. He's been sleeping less and less, trying to avoid the dreams that want to lure him away from his life and make him doubt his purpose.]

3. Two snakes walk into a coffee shop...

[Crowley didn’t open her shop on time today, still troubled by her dreams and the increasingly real visions she's been having. She hasn't been sleeping, which says a lot considering it's one of her favored hobbies.

She's searching for a seat when she notices the person in tears, sitting alone. Crowley sympathizes, because she's been a bit weepy, herself lately, but the benefit of wearing sunglasses all the time is that they mask a lot of that.]

Is this seat taken? I don't like sitting by myself.

[That's a lie, but she needs to know if other people are experiencing what she is, and this person seems to be the best chance she has at making some sense of it all.]

Rainbow Skies

She couldn't help but stare up at the colours, even when it gave her a headache. She bounced a little, searching as she did. She was sure there were Faeries up there somewhere. There just had to be. Occasionally she'd reach up towards the sky, as though she could reach the colours just by extending a hand. Someone might want to stop her before she winds up with the worst headache of all times.

There seemed to almost be a sparkling around her as she watched, and her face was so filled with hope, wonder, and joy that maybe the headache was worth it? Maybe?

Voidtrekers
The girl with the scar on her face was hunting. "Voidtrekers, huh?" The smile on her lips was cold and malevolent. Darkness swirled around her. "I can work with this." Dark energy shot out from her as more darkness brought her up to a roof. "Find them, my sweets. Kanashibari," she whispered in a voice of ice. "Paralyze them and bring them to me."

Do you get caught in her trap, dragged to the roof by spirals of darkness? Do you follow them curious? Pretend to be caught? Or maybe you have another way to reach the villain who would be news still if not for the Voidtrekers taking over the airwaves. How quickly people forget the trail of blood she'd left behind just a few weeks ago.

Perhaps they needed a reminder.

Living your life - School
Lunch time. Kyoko had finished all of her homework the night before, and had finished the book she had been reading - assigned for class - so she had no excuse to avoid people at lunch. It wouldn't stop her from trying. She sat at a table near the trash, hoping that no one would join her. She opened her small bento, clapped her hands once and bowed her head, giving thanks for her meal. Then she began to eat, trying to convince herself that there was no one else here, and that no one would come near her.

She just wanted to eat her lunch in peace. For once.

Dreams
Like she had anyone she trusted enough to discuss her dreams with? Nope. But her mood swings were affected by them. Before she could turn her mood on a dime, but usually stayed polite and distant or timid. Now? Now out of nowhere her temper might snap, for seemingly no reason. Or she might look like she was surrounded by all the best things in the world and was over joyed. She was losing focus on the here and now more and more.

And if you didn't look human at all she might rush up and ask if you are a Faerie....

Wild - Work
Kyoko has three jobs in addition to school. Feel free to be the person hiring her to send a package or letter. It amuses people that in the age of hover taxies... she uses an old fashioned bicycle. Even on stairs. Or maybe you're the one suddenly confronted by a bike moving at what should seem impossibly fast as a light brown haired girl in a shockingly pink uniform thrusts your delivery at you, face contorted with the effort of moving that fast.

Or maybe she's your sever at the Japanese style restaurant she works at. Hard for her to avoid you when it is her job to be polite to you. And she is... shockingly good at it.

Or perhaps fast food is more your taste. With her sales girl smile she'll happily ask if you want the large for just a quarter more. Are you sure she even recognizes you? She doesn't seem to...

It's strange. Mami's been so busy that she's dined out a little more than usual...she gets by, on her odd job money! But there's someone who seems to be working as many odd jobs as she is, given they keep running into each other.

"...oh, you're here again? You're so busy! I hope it's not too much trouble, but I'm afraid I'm looking for another meal."

Day one - Work
Xie Lian is a PE Teacher at a local school and is currently helping his students through some exercises outside when the rainbow streaks appear in the sky. He looks up at them, distracted by it for a moment and feels that pressure of a headache from doing so.

When he looks away he reaches up and touches his head. it's a strange feeling...like something he hasn't had in a long time. He doesn't get sick or hurt very often so this is very new to him. But a student quickly draws him back from his thoughts and he looks over with a smile.

"Let me help you get in the correct form for that." He walks over to show them.

Day One - Home
He usually takes a leisurely walk through town before getting back to the house, but today he feels a strange desire to rush there. He decides to make this his daily run and takes off jogging towards the house. Arriving out of breath and sweet dripping down his face, he heads inside the house that he knows belongs to his family.

"I'm home!" He says brightly as he closes the door behind him. "Is anyone else back yet?" Maybe he should try and start dinner for everyone as a surprise.

Day Three - Dreams
Xie lian wakes up in a sweat. Something doesn't feel right and he pants for air and tries to clear his head from whatever nightmare had woken him up. He pushes himself out of bed, needing some air to clear his head and get the images out of his mind. It was a world that somehow felt more familiar to him then it should. A face looking at him with such a tender expression that he doesn't remember...but something tells him that the person in his dream is important and he needs to.

He puts on some shoes and walks outside in just his pajama pants. The air is cool in the early morning but he doesn't notice it. Too distracted he starts to walk, nearly running into someone else who seems to be an early riser.

"Ah...forgive me."

Day Four - Training Spheres
Xie Lian is currently punching walls out of the maze in an attempt to save solve the puzzle. He sometimes just does things the hard way guides the spheres around, but with everything going on he feels a need to distract himself by using his super strength instead.

As he smashes through another of the maze walls he comes face to face with someone. He stops short and looks at them in surprise, not used to others being in the training with him.

"I'm sorry. I didn't realize someone else was already in here."

Day Four - Unraveling of the dream
Xie Lian understands now that this isn't his life. But to simply stop living it would cause too much of a disturbance. The announcements to watch out for Voidtreckers are constant and he knows if he is found out that he might be captured or hurt. And he can't take that chance. So he smiles at neighbors he doesn't really know and goes on with his day to day routines.

He just wishes there was a way to be able to tell who else might be a part of the train and not of this world. Every day after work he now starts to travel around, checking over the city and seeing what information he can gather. He tries to do so with as much care as he can.

"Excuse me...do you think you could help me? I know I am supposed to look out for people who don't belong but I'm afraid I'm not sure how. Do you have any suggestions?"

Day one

Gar was... not the easiest student ever. Every day he wore a headband with some sort of animal ears in his messy blond hair and often a matching tail. Today was no exception. Monkey ears and a swinging tail.

He had written on his gym uniform shirt "Just monkeying around, here behind the ape ball."

"It's gym class, I thought forms were for law class," he said with a grin. Get it, forms? He had been an odd mood all day, constantly flicking glances back at his brother and their mutual friend Nino.

I. Atelier Ishigami

This artist’s studio is fashionably designed, there are several paintings on the wall, some of the architecture around Jinnjar City. The paintings are mostly in watercolour, and are incredibly intricately done, details are fully represented, it’s difficult to imagine they aren’t photographs, if it weren’t for the medium.

Aside from the gallery, there are garments for sale, simple but elegant designs. They aren’t cheap at all, but rather some of the best quality material and construction, and they will last a long time. That comes with a hefty price tag.

The designer is a young man, maybe twenty, his white hair pulled back into a ponytail, the tips faintly green. Surely he must dye it, right? He was wearing faded jeans and a loose fitting t-shirt. A smudge of paint on his jeans suggests he may have also painted the masterpieces on the wall, as well as the clothing.

He can be found at a counter, an unconventional one that doubles as a design table as he works on his latest clothing design. Coming in the door, there’s a gentle chime and Senku doesn’t look up right away, no, he appears to be concentrating on his design, but after a moment he’ll feel like he’s being watched and raise his head, smiling warmly. “Welcome to my shop, please feel free to browse. Any clothes can be custom fit to your specifications, and I take special orders.”

II. Voidtreckers – Please Specify The Day (1-4)

Coming into his shop, an investigator would get the standard greeting, but at the same time they might notice he was wearing a simple orange watch, along with his usual jewelry.

“Voidtreckers?” He repeated, brow furrowing. “Never heard of them.”

Was Senku lying, or was he just a very good actor? Perhaps he was a poor actor at that, and the visitor was suspicious.

III. That Amulet Does What…?

Something about this arrangement had seemed off. Senku couldn’t quite put his finger on it, not the first day, he’d just felt a little bit unsettled.

Unsettled in a way he was sure he’d felt before.

He might’ve spoken to his husband, brother or friends about his suspicions. Carefully. He didn’t want to trip any alarms and get reported for strange thoughts.

Something was wrong. He couldn’t remember the amulet on his neck either, either getting it or making it and it was as much a puzzle as the feeling. Casual and free-wheeling, nothing had ever bothered Senku like this before. It gnawed at him.

IV. Come on allies…

Senku didn’t hesitate to go out in the evenings, especially with Gen, but tonight he has something else in mind.

He might sidle up to another Voidtrecker with a smile.

“Hey, how are you doing?”

Did they recognize him? Maybe, maybe not, but Senku is worried and he is going to try his hand at a covert mission. He’s smart, talented and clever, but doublespeak is not a trait he’s particularly blessed with.

Hopefully this didn’t end up with him getting in trouble.

V. Wildcard

[I’m open for anything. Senku’s power is extremely good luck, meaning it might be hard to pin him down for trouble. Senku, please. It's a good thing that he just happens to run into someone who actually recognizes him - and it's good that it's not right off the bat, but closer towards the latter days, when Inigo has actually snapped out of it. Otherwise this whole conversation could have gone down a lot more awkward.

But right now just the look in Inigo's eyes as he looks at the other is saying enough. He definitely recognizes Senku. It's a look he would have no reason to fake.

"Well, it sounds like you're doing okay," Inigo says, and he can't quite help the teasing edge to it. Sure, it's good to see that no illusion could keep Senku trapped for too long, but it's also very recognizable that this is just regular Senku. He can't imagine even some Senku with fake memories being sociable enough to just walk up to anyone and smile like that for no reason.

I. Living Her Life

Rui had no interest in this Voidtrecker business, none at all, in fact the most she was interested in was working at a cute cafe in the heart of downtown.

She’s very personable, smiling brightly at people while getting their orders. Maybe someone wants to chat up the cute coffee girl, or maybe they’re not so nice.

It doesn’t matter. For fun, after work, she’s inclined to go out to get groceries for her and her family.

II. Kama Aid

A friend, new or otherwise, might’ve spotted Rui at the training centre and asked for a team up. Rui would smile and graciously agree.

She had no idea that this simulation would include healing people.

At least, these people shaped orbs weren’t bleeding.

She couldn’t help but shriek when two of them appeared at once, startling her and making her stumble backwards. “Sorry, I’m sorry! I’m n-not very good at this!” She stammered with a little flush.

III. Dreams

Rui suddenly is plagued with dreams.

A haunting, chilling, pointed smile. A girl she can’t place who’s offering her a cheerful smile. A jar of jelly beans spilled on the ground. A purple notebook with an unusual symbol.

Admittedly, it isn’t much to go on.

By day four, Rui is dragging her feet. She’s exhausted. Just what do these dreams mean? Her smile seems a lot less genuine for her customers.

IV. Anomalies

“That’s terrible!” Rui exclaims when she hears about this person’s missing cat.

“I...I’m not sure how I can help. I can look around?” She said with a timid little smile.

That’s how Rui spends her evening looking for a cat she can’t find, just so she can’t disappoint the person.

Today is just a normal day at the cafe.

That is to say - normal by this place's standards. Which means that halfway through Rui's shift, a customer wanders in who.. doesn't quite look like the usual type of person that would walk in here and order a coffee.

Though the person will be familiar to Rui. It's Alice, though not quite as human as usual. It's like she got stuck midway between her regular self and the way she looks when her full power is released. Her skin is no longer full on red, but there's still a faint red hue to most of it, and there's still one horn protuding from the side of her head.

But more importantly, her face looks like a mess. Her nose is definitely not standing in the full on right direction a nose should be, there's a cut on her forehead, and there's enough blood on her that it's hard to tell how much of it is Alice's own and how much is someone - or something - else's.

She wanders up to the counter, but her walk is almost more zombie than human - to a point where she's unable to even say anything before she leans down on the counter as if she's crashing on it. Ready to take a nap.

As I said, a normal day.

I. Rainbow Skies

Prompto isn’t usually called upon, but with the crazy idea behind the Voidtreckers, it’s kind of all hands on deck and so he’s out patrolling.

He’s by far the most cheerful seeming hero around at least.

“Uhhh hi!” He smiles brightly. “You’re not up to anything suspicious are you?”

It seems fine enough to ask people outright, they wouldn’t lie to him, would they?

II. Living His Life

He enjoys going to the gym. He’s happy enough to get busy on the machines, lift weights and do some training.

It’s important because he’s kind of a starter on the local soccer team.

His ability to run is important. He might be a little bit well known in the city.

Outside of that, he’s the kind of guy who might go out dancing in the evenings.

III. Dreams

The dreams are the kind of thing that leave him waking up screaming, which might wake up his family members. His powers are tempestuous and his room is ice cold, icicles on the ceiling, making it look a little dangerous to intervene.

He remembers an unsettling man with red hair and a wicked smile, trying to grab him. He also remembers a pair of friends he hasn’t met before...has he?

He’s left with two names. Ignis. Gladio.

Prompto isn’t sure what to do with these dreams, he’s a little high strung come morning.

IV. Training

Prompto does not have the best track record with his powers. Sometimes, if he gets too nervous, he can’t summon them.

Other times, he’s out of control.

He doesn’t know what’s going on with that, but he’s trying.

That’s how he finds himself here, ready to go into a simulator. “Uh, dude, are you sure you want to come with me?” He can’t help but ask his companion. “I’m not uh, the best at this.”

Damon is the kind of hero that was born to protect Jinnjar.

It’s easy, with the suspicious goings on, he can blend into the background quite literally, by turning invisible.

He’s the kind of person that gets the reports. Someone suspicious is over there…

He’s always invisible when he engages his targets at first. Watching. Waiting. Observing.

What does he see?

If it’s interesting enough, he might pop into existence out of nowhere, in a black suit with a black shirt and a white tie. He’ll lean forward with a smirk. “Let’s go over that again, shall we?”

Meeting Damon is not a good omen.

II. Dreams

The first thing Demyx dreamed of was someone calling to him.

The name is garbled. He doesn’t know it.

Aside from that, he remembers colleagues, a girl with thunder, a guy with fire that looks suspiciously like his roommate. ‘Axel’ he learns.

Stop slacking off, Demyx.

Demyx. That name strikes a chord, and he wakes on the third day with a sinking feeling that something is wrong. The amulet he has gives him a boost and the illusion is broken.

He doesn’t know what to do at that point.

III. Wake up

Maybe this person is someone he tried to nail to the wall before.

Maybe they aren’t, and they’re just someone he’s met before.

He walks in invisible and waits for the Voidtrecker to be alone before popping into existence.

“Hey. Hey. Uh. Don’t freak out. I just wanna talk.” He smiled.

It’s possible after all of this he’s going to have to run.

IV. Wildcard

Loki's been told about Damon, of course, as a specialist investigator of suspicious persons. He personally likes being in the public eye, but there's a part of him that envies the other Hero and his ability to walk unseen and take his targets unawares.

Now he has a lead for the man. He sends the designated signal and waits for Damon at a cafe, pretending to just be an off-the-clock Hero relaxing with some caffeine.

4TH WALL ENTRY - 'SHEM'/PAST LIFE AU JONOUCHI FROM 'SKEIN' - PROMPTS UNDERLINED

The name on his work ID says 'Shem'. It has his last name as well of course, but there is a funny feeling he has whenever he looks at it he finds, as if the name is foreign, unfamiliar, and not his at all. He wonders if maybe it's a midlife crisis. A little early for that- he's not that old, though then again one of his daughters is working and the other is starting highschool come September last he checked but...

There is something odd. He can't quite place it.

Shem might look familiar to others- some more than most, certainly. The man is more often than not spotted in his work uniform, bright identifying red and white jacket on with a handy image advertizing the local zoo and rehabilitation center for animals, a look that sits quite nicely with his dark shin and silver-white hair. Sometimes he stares- stares a bit longer than necessary at someone as they come near, but that's fine. He'll even explain why if he's asked- but sometimes he seems to stare at nothing at all, blinking it off with a frown.

At work, he can be found tending to the animals for the most part. He's often helping with the petting zoo, it seems- goats, or at least things that seem like goats, and other probably-pettable animals are thrilled by the company...and even more for the food!

"Care to join?" he'll ask anyone who comes by, a small smile on his face. "They won't bite..." ...Probably.

He has life other than work though of course. In particular as he goes about the city, and the news and gossip spreads, he can't help but hum. "The colour red huh?" he'll joke with a grin, keeping himself from elbowing the nearest person. "I suppose I should ask for a uniform change then, aah?" He's clearly not serious.

Maybe he's never serious.

Or maybe...

At home, that's where the grin falls. When he's sure his family won't see, and when he's sure no one around can hear. That might not necessarily work of course- the girls are good at getting past him, and so are others who know him well. It wouldn't be surprising, if they caught him with his hands steepled in thought, as he sits at the dining room table. Something isn't right. Something isn't right...

But what is it?

He has more than just dreams about the desert. More than just dreams about goats (he knows they're goats), about alligators (he knows they are), hippos, birds, dragons...he can see carvings on a wall as a dragon tells old tales, and hear the screams of others as they fall one by one to a blade. He dreams of a Name...

When he wakes the dream has faded.

But to those in the house, he seems particularly morose. He can't help but feel the dream had...something to it. Something...terrible.

Maybe he just needs to relax. Take a walk. Loop around the city, get some air. The birds in the air don't seem as plentiful he realizes, looking up on his way to and from work. The animals at his work have been acting odd. He...

"..It's gone," he realizes, and somehow he can't even quite realize what.

Maybe Training will help, not that he does that much. His power is more personal. Watch, stare, identify. As he sits there at the gym however, he finds himself hesitating. He almost...doesn't want to. As if there's some reason he shouldn't. That can't be right however can it? It can't...

(There's something dark in the air, he feels. Something ominous.)

He holds his head in one hand, and grimaces.

Home - Day 3/4

Shiho hasn't actually been home too much lately - everybody in an official capacity like hers is in full Voidtrecker hunting mode, and Shiho, for one, has been taking it very seriously. Probably has something to do with her rivalry with the detective boy.

But, well, she's home now. And she's not blind.

"Is something wrong, dad?" She doesn't exactly look worried, unaware of how serious this may or may not be, but she does look a little concerned.

Maybe they were behind on bills. If so, she can help with that. Just let her know.

Tidus ; OTA

"Pfft, Voidtreckers? What're they gonna do? We'll kick 'em out and forget this even happened in a week!"

You could be one of his friends, at college, in the park, at a coffee shop or getting a bite to eat; or just an eavesdropper, listening in to the hottest topic of the day: The nefarious train travellers. Tidus doesn't display worry talking about them, but still the conversations swerve towards them, someone asking, 'What do you think they want?', 'Did they do something to the sky?', 'Yo, I hear they mess with your memories!'

Join in on the conversations between mostly jock-looking types? A few people do - this doesn't seem much of a private conversation.

For Tidus, it's just another day in Jinnjar. He's a gymnast kid, his uni connected with the dance studios and sports, even swimming. Their facilities brings visitors for the clubs and fitness gyms that make the campus, and Tidus is a popular figure to see everywhere.

How about a friendly rivalry in the gym at the treadmill? Try approaching one dressed for his exercise, giving any familiar faces - that can be anyone, here - a friendly, "What's the goal, so I can set my time?", setting it to a walking warm-up mode to begin.

And don't miss him at the swimming pools, in and out of campus. He's the kind of guy to try and match with those with a clear advantage of water powers when it comes to making laps, or maybe he's even helping to teach your character to get better at swimming.

"Better than worrying about all that," he says, carefree, hand waving dismissively to the colours in the sky. Boriiing!

Even if he isn't taking this whole Voidtrecker business that serious, the D-Force are. He's at a bar with friends, hanging outside under an awning, the TV inside if one glimpses in showing a news briefing about the Voidtreckers.

And there's people out and about, walking around, and you know they're trying to sniff something out. Whether he's speaking to your character or you happen to be listening in, he says, a drink in hand: "Geez, anything funny happens, and everyone's playing heroes. It can't be that bad, can it?"

But even in this night sky, the colours above glow ever more present. He may move, casting a thoughtful look up; and the feeling that worms its way into his head makes him grimace, bump and/or spill (or the horrible combination of both into a passerby, perhaps not even someone stopping for a drink.

Of course Inigo is more fussy about this than Tidus. Something would be wrong with the universe if anything was going on and Inigo wasn't more fussy about something than his friend is, it's just the way these things work.

But Inigo feels like he has legitimate reasons to be fussy here! Hence why he grips his cup of coffee a bit more dramatically as he leans across the cafe table in Tidus's direction.

"Would they be making such a big deal out of it if they weren't such a big danger? I've heard announcements about them everywhere at this point!"

Living Your Life

Rainbow Skies? Voidtrekkers? Bah, who cares about that sort of stuff! That's what Nozomi thinks. Oh, sure, it's worrisome, but she had no cares in the world and knew that those sort of things sorted itself out in the end. They did in the movies, right?

Anywho, you might find Nozomi at work, wasting away as she worked on her latest outfit masterpiece. Or maybe she's out grocery shopping. The fruit looks so odd, but they're really good! So, she'll happily take those.

Or maybe she's looking for Kairi, her beloved. The joy of her life. That key to her heart.

Dreams

Nozomi's sleeping hasn't been all that well. She's sure she hasn't done anything wrong and yet it all seems restless. It's because she's seeing names and places she can't place. "'Rin', 'Urara', 'Komachi' and 'Karen'..." she uttered. "Why do they seem familiar? I don't know them!"

She shook her head at that. Maybe she could ask someone else about it all...

Castle Defense

Okay, maybe Nozomi could work through her problems with a bit of training? Castle Defense has always been one of her favorites, especially since she seemed determined to actually beat the event. She never got past the second to last round for some reason.

And now it seemed to have gotten harder and dragged someone else into this. When did this happen?!

"H-Hey, let's work together and get rid of these people!"

Breaking the Illusion

It took Nozomi a few days, but she had finally understood what those strange feelings meant. Those were her real memories. This world, this place, her spot in the world... they weren't real. They weren't from this world. She was a Voidtrekker.

She hated to do this, but she was able to ditch her old Voidtrekker clothes and stick to something more natural, keeping to her usual pink theming.

She had to find others. Hopefully find those who also shook free...

...Kairi...

Oh, no, what should she do if she met Kairi again? It wasn't fair, it wasn't right!

Kairi had finished school for the day and for today at least cheerleading practice wasn't a thing, so she decided to summon a nice little fruit tart and head on over to her girlfriend's place.

She seemed happy enough as she rang the doorbell and simply waited.

Crowley appears to be more or less human, save her serpent eyes, which she still hides behind dark glasses. She is often seen gardening in front of her home where she lives with her husband, daughter, and pet dog. The lavish front yard is what she uses to experiment with whatever new clippings she may offer at Eden, a local plant nursery she runs while Alice is at school. She'll be friendly enough with her neighbors as she sees them passing by, but if ill-timed, they'll catch her grumpily hissing at her plants.
"Wilted. Again?! How much fertilizer do you need? Pathetic!"


II.

Eden isn't typically a very busy business. Frequently enough, men of the city will stop in to buy flowers for their girlfriends and wives after a fight, but most of Crowley’s business is seasonal; school proms, weddings, funerals, and the like (the latter of which Crowley always looks like she'sdressed for). She's working on an arrangement at the back when the bell hanging on the door alerts her that someone has entered. Normally, she'd spin around and greet them, but something has her distracted, face glazed over as she stares into the distance. It's probably nothing... or is it?

"Ngk-- sorry. Be right there," she shakes her thoughts loose, "Can I help you?"

III.

Crowley didn’t go straight home tonight. Her dreams were getting stranger and stranger, the dog had gotten out at some point, and juggling a family and a business on top of it all were starting to get to her. It wasn't usually a week night that she'd end up at the bar by her shop, but the surrounding events of the evening weren't usual, either.

"Whatever's drinkable..." she mutters to a bartender, then shakes her head with a scowl, "Mm, no, make that a scotch."

It's clear something is bugging her by the way she presses her face into a hand, letting her bright red hair fall over her face, but she wouldn't know where to even begin without any prompting.

Guess who came home early from school.

It's Alice, of course, and she's hanging over the garden fence, leaning on it as she watches her mother at work - or rather, in the middle of treating the plants like she's the coach of a heavily underperforming soccer team.

It's not a sight she has any adverse reaction to. No, at the sight of Crowley scolding those plants, Alice just lets out a bright and happy laugh.

"Having some trouble, mom?"

In this world, engineering freshman Seto is....an oddity. has an adoptive family that he loves, and fulfilling volunteer activities at the orphanage, but heroics has been a bust so far. Turns out that's what happens when you start spitting lightning whenever your temper flares.

He can be encountered by the bakery, carrying a box full of peanut butter cookies for his eager brother waiting at home. He's sometimes at the university campus, alone atop a hill with a pile of books. Or he's looking longingly at a hover bike in a shop window---but his studies are the most important thing, and they have a big family to support at home.

But he's really too busy for friends.

The news of a potential invasion troubles him. True, this is a world full of heroes, and he's relatively confident invaders can be defeated. But everyone should be able to defend themselves, right?

Seto's never been too big on his powers, but now might be the time. He's carrying some sturdy fabrics and wires, and near the training gym he's trying to craft...electricity-conducting gloves? There's a lot of swearing and stabbing his hand. But if he can get these done, he'll have options with his powers.

Aaand there's his hair standing on end. Another failed attempt at conducting through the gloves, but he's getting closer.

haunted dreams

Roars of dragons. Darkness lashing at him. Strange voice he can't explain. Is that the emblem they've been warned about? He feels the sensation of crashing through glass, and as he tumbles out of bed with a yelp...he seems to have a splitting headache. Hopefully his family members are heavy sleepers.

Or he might have this nightmare after drifting off on the bus, only to step off and be unsettled by a face that shouldn't be familiar. He adjusts his glasses, just barely avoids crashing into the person, and sighs.

"Excuse me."

Birdshit isn't a word Eva of Diagad would use. And there's a thoughtful look to her face as well. She's not that much different, but it seems something has changed about her. "Or's the talk of dreams getting to you?"

Day 1&2: Day in the Life

"Voidtreckers?" Kate repeats, wrinkling her nose a bit. "That's a pretty weird name. And they ride around in a flying train? So weird."

Not that she had a lot of time to really dwell on weird, possibly made-up stories. Not when she had school or her job at the mall to worry about. Her parents might have asked her to run an errand around town, or she just wanted to hang out with her friends. She was a busy girl, lots to do.

Day 3&4: Dreams

Anyone dropping by one of the clothing stores at the mall might notice Kate behind the counter, though she doesn't seem to be paying much attention herself. There's a far-off look in her eyes and a puzzled frown on her lips.

It takes a moment to get her attention, but then she blinks and looks up. "Huh...? Oh, sorry." With a sigh, she pinches the bridge of her nose. "Sorry, I...haven't been sleeping too well. I keep having these weird dreams."

It's not just when she's sleeping, though. Sometimes she has these weird visions even while she's awake. But she's worried about mentioning that out loud. Was she going crazy? Maybe she's just feeling a little stressed out with all the weird stuff happening.

It'd be easy enough to assume that this is just Inigo being Inigo - just him being concerned about a friend, considering that the other does look like she's kind of spacing out over here. But there's a little bit more to his concern than that. After all, she isn't the only one who's been having said weird dreams, hence why he can't help but be extra curious about them.

Voidtreckers. That word is starting to come up a lot, Lena notices. Wherever she can be found sitting and playing her guitar, there's always bound to be someone nearby talking about them at some point.

And she can't help but frown a little as she idly plucks at the guitar strings. There's something about that word...

Day 3&4: Anomalies

Lena can't help looking at the swirling colors in the sky. There's something about them that she finds fascinating, despite feeling dizzy and getting headaches when she does. She almost feels drawn to them somehow, but has been a little nervous about getting too close.

Except now it seems that it's the colors themselves that are getting closer. She's been watching them enough to realize that they seem to be stronger and brighter. As she's looking to the sky, though, she catches something...strange happen to a nearby building. Just for a moment, it looked like part of the building had just...fizzled out.

"Whoa...did you see that?" she says, not even noticing if there's anyone nearby or not.

Nothing's happened that would make things sour in their session so far, so... Her eyes slide to the group just across from them in the cafeteria. Ugh. "Listening to those guys talk nonsense again?"

Day One - A Day in the Life

The sign over the door read Beautiful Botanicals & Pottery and it was hers and it was her own little world - and so she could, as usual, ignore the propaganda blasts. It was one of those poky little shops, really - but it clearly was maintained with love. The woodwork and the walls were all painted in a variety of floral scenes. One could spend a good deal of time just watching the patterns. One entire wall was just a field of wheat giving way to wildflowers - the farm where she'd grown up. She remembered the image vividly.

She flipped the sign to 'Open', moving around with her spray bottle, giving everybody their morning drink, humming the entire time. An old record player in the back was playing a waltz. She moved from plant to plant almost in time.

Her shop had a bit of a reputation, really. Some of the most beautiful flowers in the city, but the owner was...insistent, they said. Mainly because she never cut any of them. Even a bouquet was handed over with an elaborate, long, thin pot - hand made. You didn't cut flowers, she said - why give somebody a gift that involved killing something else? No, the shelves of hand-sculpted pots testified to her beliefs - everything came into her shop alive, and left the same way.

Pottery class would be later today, and she encouraged partners to work together. Many a deep romance had blossomed in her shop, working the clay together - she also was finally of a mind to engage in that pursuit herself...

The wandering heroes enforcing the law were more of a pain than anything - especially bothering her today - four stops, four! - over the purple dress she was wearing today. She liked purple, and that fact seemed beyond many of them. But there was...one of them. Her lips curled into a smile just thinking about her.

It'd only been a few weeks, mind, but it felt...right. Special. Most dating in her life had been more of a date, singular; but this one seemed to be as interested in her as she was in them. They hadn't figured out why her presence tended to calm down her other form yet, but it didn't matter right now. The point was it had worked ever since she'd foiled that bank robbery Guri had been swept up in.

Whether you just encounter her for flowers, or come for the pottery making (bring a romantic partner, it's fun!) - she'll be in a particularly good mood.

Day Two - Park Picnic for Alice

She'd been looking forward to it for days. They'd snatched dates and, well, whatever bits of relationship they could around Alice's intense sort of schedule. But today was just going to be them and she'd prepared with her usual meticulous attention to detail.

The spot in the park was carefully chosen - secluded, but sunny. She'd fortified the location with small 'gifts' for the ants, scattered around the picnic blanket. They'd find sugary goodness for them, so as to leave the main site alone. That was the bargain she hoped they'd stick to, anyways.

Likewise, the dress - not too showy, but nice and airy and just attractive enough, she hoped. Certainly leggy. Then of course, the food - sandwiches, some soda sitting in a cooler full of ice - and wine, if she wanted it. Guri hadn't been sure on that part, but it seemed a choice, at least. Then, for dessert, the handmade cakes.

And, carefully hidden for now - the tiny little gift. A blooming cactus, in its handcrafted pot with Alice's name on it. She liked cacti - hardy, surprisingly beautiful, especially this one, which was carefully cultivated to sprout vibrant pink-red blooms regularly. But people underestimated them, dismissed them for their spines. The pot was larger than it needed to be, but...it'd grow into it.

And so she sat, everything just so - waiting to greet Alice, with a smile: "Hello, Hero."

Day Four - The Doubts

She had hidden herself in a corner of her shop - is it though? - legs pulled up to her chin, arms around them.

The questions people had asked over the last few days were poking holes in her life and she didn't like it. How was she so fast at things? So easily graceful? She could remember there'd been gymnastics but when pressed couldn't provide details. Likewise, her parents - the farm couple who had adopted her as a baby. Why could she find no pictures? Why couldn't she remember herself as a child? She looked across at the wall - the painting of where she'd grown up. She could remember every detail of it - but not what the inside of the house had looked like.

If this was all amnesia, then when had it started? Why hadn't she noticed? Where were the flashes of strength coming from? And the memories - if they were that. She shuddered at the mere thought. The images of the green man, with her there, in the strange world. And the terrible violence she was capable of.
She didn't want any of it to be real.

Worst of all - what if she weren't human, after all? Was any of her life real?

She so badly wanted it to be. Everything was nice, and peaceful.

It was perfect. And she felt it all starting to slip away.

Honestly, Alice has absolutely no idea just how much preparation Guri has put into this occasion. It's not exactly like she has a whole lot of dating experience. The whole thing just never interested her - never before Guri, anyway, and even now she sometimes feels a little bit unsteady in it. Like she's just Bambi, trying to walk with new fawn legs she doesn't quite know how to use.

So she has no idea either what people do for picnic dates. Or what they wear. Which is why Alice is showing up in one of her usual outfits for this sunny park date. Because you just can't get the goth of this girl, apparently.

But Alice isn't the first thing Guri will see. No, it's Alice's black cat that walks up to Guri first, curiously making its way onto the picnic blanket, and starting to carefully sniff Guri. It's a moment later that Alice follows it, glancing between Guri and the cat, and looking only the tiniest bit awkward - read: flustered - in the face of that greeting.

"Hello," she says, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear. Smooth, Alice. Just be smooth. .. Somehow. "I hope I didn't make you wait long."

[The Handsome Jackpot: It's a lavish casino with the jack of hearts as it's theme/mascot. Come in! Spend money, win money, watch the shows, try to cheat, get drunk, get in a fight! Or maybe you're an employee? Jack is the owner and he can often be seen schmoozing with people in his iconic mask on the games floor or monitoring employee behavior behind the scenes. He's also prone to sitting up in his office working on the more mundane aspects of owning a casino, i.e. paperwork.]

Day One

He rode into town on an actual white horse. An old man, dust-covered, in dress that would have been out of date in any number of centuries and places. He rode on Bucephalus, his loyal steed - who even knew where the horse went when he dismounted. Probably to cause trouble. And though he cut a seemingly poor, decrepit figure, those of a more...mystical persuasion might sense something more. Might hear, distantly, strains of...music. And might even hear traces of voices, distant and echoing, singing:

'What will become of the Baron? Surely this time he will not escape...'

He dismounted, dislodging dust as he brushed his coat off, looking around, leaning on his cane.

"Let's see now, yes, hmm..." He fishes inside a coat pocket, pulling out a note. "What was the little story this place put in my head, eh? Ah! Aha!" He seemed delighted, strutting over to an empty market stall. He lifted his cane, tapping at the long, closed wooden sign - which fell open to reveal:

'Baron Munchausen - Storyteller Extraordinaire, Outrageous True Tales of Adventure'

He nodded, approvingly, turning and spreading his arms.

"Come one, come all - let me tell you about how I, the one and only Baron Munchausen, defeated the army of the Great Turk himself! Or perhaps the time I met the King of the Moon! Well one of them, anyways, yes... Hrm, aah! Or my meeting with the beautiful goddess Venus and her jealous husband Vulcan!"

Day Two

Day Two would go much the same, but anybody meeting the Baron might find reality was a little more...suggestible around him. This would be plainly seen when a robber attempted to abscond with the hat he was using to collect coins from people for his stories. He kept none of it, of course, only enough to eat with, when he felt the need. What was money to him?

In any event, the robber was tripped by a cane, and when they looked up, it was into the grinning face of a man who seemed, easily, forty to fifty years younger. "Aha! En garde, you blaggard!" said with brandished sword.

And then, somehow, the robber had one, too - along with an insouciant sort of mustache. And, as the duel unfolded, clearly had picked up the knowledge of how to use a sword.

Day Three/Four

The Baron would encounter others in these days - easily trailing their realities into his own, long enough for the moment, or the adventure in front of him. People needing that revelation about themselves - or just pining for a taste of home, could find it.

And the best part? It's the Baron - whatever moments they found? They wouldn't be illusions.

Much as reality was something that happened to other people, he walked through them like moving aside curtains.

[OOC: Welcome to one of my favorite characters, unplayable in a long-term setting but hey, he can fly here, today! The Baron's powers are ill-defined, but what he believes should be generally is. This is definitely an opt-in thing, so let me know any limits if you're concerned - and feel free to help me arrange scenes via PM or plurk! By and large, expect stereotypical adventures - but if you want tearful reunions or a joyous escape? He can definitely manage that. He's also preternaturally charming, especially in his younger form - and very, very frustrating to the Grim Reaper in any reality.]

[ Workplace, DFORCE: Day 1 ]

Being a nominal part of the DFORCE - even just as a forensics specialist - meant that Shiho was privy to their internal communications, their mission objectives, their briefings. Everybody was to keep an eye out for the Voidtreckers - people who might be identified by armband or the color of their clothes - even if they weren't an active part of investigations.

Unfortunately, Shiho has a rivalry with an active investigator. That meant she couldn't sit idly on the sidelines, only content to keep an eye open and nothing else.

That's why she's making sure to take in all the information she can. Standing in the back of meeting rooms, combing through official announcements... peeking over people's shoulders at their desks. Anything to get a leg up on Shinichi.

[ Investigation: Days 1-4 ]

Shiho's investigations take her across the city, not content to sit back idly. Obviously she's got an eye out for the warning signs - armbands, or people wearing red, blue, orange, or purple - but she's also tracking down people who have been experiencing memory problems, outbursts, or confusion out in public.

Has your character been showing obvious signs while out and about the city? Then you might be being approached by a young woman in a lab coat. Or maybe you're wearing too much of a Voidtrecker team's color and just happened to catch Shiho's eye while out in the city.

Either way, you're being Approached. "Excuse me for a moment." What do?

[ Home Life: Days 1-4 ]

Shiho is a little more gung-ho about her investigations early on, trying to get an early lead on Shinichi, so she'll be coming back home a lot later than usual, something that her dad or little sister might pick up on during Day 1-2.

By the time Day 3-4 rolls around, Shiho has some feelings of déjà vu. She's trying to be a little more considerate, making some food for her family, and struck by a sense of familiarity. She almost slips and calls her dad 'professor' of all things. And her little sister... it feels a little odd, like Shiho should be the little sister instead.

It's very disconcerting, and she's not sure what to make of it.

Of course, Shiho is out and about in general during her investigations, so she can be found most anywhere. Or maybe you're somebody who knows her and can arrange to meet her somewhere else. Either way, go wild.

Home Life Day 2

[I. Strolling Through the Park One Day]

[It was a bright, inviting morning underneath the kaleidoscope of colors twirling around in the clouds above, dewdrops still clinging to the recently trimmed grass. A woman with long, flowing platinum blond hair and dressed in a short but tasteful dress was seated on a park bench having a bit of breakfast as her three small companions got a chance to take in some fresh air and amusements.

One of the mini dragons was alternating between crouching in the grass, to spontaneously leap onto dandelion puffs, sending the delicate seeds sailing into the breeze. Another was curled lazily on his master's lap enjoying the occasional pat or morsel of food offered. The third was a little more adventurous straying from the group. So distracted by the other two dragons combined with her meal, Kisara didn't see as the third mischievous creature crossed over into the zoo and one of the enclosures.

It amused itself by imitating the facial expressions of the animals it ran into but it was only a matter of time before it inevitably ended up encroaching on the wrong territory.]

... Where's Asfet?

[Panic started to ensue as she looked around the well maintained grounds. She swiftly collected her things and scooped up the other two dragons as she started her search. When she managed to find the wayward dragon she gasped in horror. It was contained in a section of the zoo containing the lions, some of which were already starting to draw back their lips to snarl, and begin circling the petite dragon.]

Oh no.... no no. We have to get him out of there.. [She looked helplessly from side to side for someone who could help her, though she hadn't formulated a plan yet]

Could you please watch over these two why I collect the third? [Her blue eyes fixating on the person she was pleading with.]

[II. Paying Those Non-Existent Bills]

Here is that report you asked for sir.

[Kisara respectfully bowed her head as she handed over the report, with that task completed she returned to her little office just outside the dean's and seated herself at her desk. If anyone needed to speak to the head of the university they would have to check in with her first.

Having completed most of her paperwork already, she glanced to the cat tree in the corner where her trio of mini dragons were currently located. It had been so kind for the school to allow her this one concession. Two of the dragons were scrabbling for the top shelf in their own version of king of the mountain. If they got too loud or out of hand she'd break them up but right now it just seemed like harmless play.]

[III. Biker Creeps from Mars?]

[Usually Asfet was not quite this bad about wandering off, but this time he had felt the need to test his wings and go on a private tour of the city. As his concerned owner trailed along by foot, she seriously debated investing in a harness with a leash for the little guy. In one portion of the journey, she started to realize that they were travelling into a less populated portion of the city, the clacking sound of her heels on the pavement almost filled her with uneasiness.]

Where is he taking us?

[Mercifully she had decided to leave Unika and Irtyu at home in their apartment, so she only needed to worry about herself and one dragon.

Despite how quiet this area was, she didn't notice as the hoverbikes started to slip in behind her, stalking her over the terrain. This mode of transportation was meant to have a low impact on the environment, including noise pollution. She was ony aware of the danger, when the trio split their forces, started circling her and making outlandish cat calls and war whoops.

Instinctively, she recoiled emitting a shriek as her eyes widened in fear. She danced carefully from side to side within the circle of hoverbikes trying not to get in range of either the vehicles or the riders.]

I.. I don't know what you want, but.. I don't have any money on me!

[That didn't seem to dissuade the gang. Asfet for his part, alerted by the noise did return to his mistress, landed on the ground in front of her, crouching down and making the most threatening roars he could conjure up- which wasn't intimidating at all.]

[The brunette's words at been directed to one person specifically who was already sniffling. Kaiba was a brutal personal trainer who expected discipline and dedication. That was the only way to succeed both in a personal regimen and in life. If his patrons couldn't handle it then they could let the door hit them on the way out. What made it worse for those he offended that he was in incredible shape himself, so it was obvious that his methods did work. Despite the physical activity, Kaiba was dressed from the neck down but his choice in attire was flattering to his features highlighting his muscle tone. This approach proved to be too much for the person that was losing it as they fled from the room]

Anyone else want to give in to cowardice and join her? There's the door, it's better if you don't waste my time and yours. Especially mine.

Day 1 = (something to carry or push me along)

Jade lives a simple life. Accountant by day. Vigilante accountant by night for the Knicknack Knockback Bar. Listen. Someone has to make sure this bar has the finances it needs to not only run the bar but also keep this front open, nevermind the core chip production costs bribery to keep the DForce off their backs.

Oh there's room in the back for him to do his paperwork, of course, but sometimes he brings it out - takes up a back corner of the bar to have a drink and work with the bar chatter as a soundtrack. Comforting, in ways he can't describe.

It's home, more than home itself is.

Either way, he's there almost every night, if you have some reason to need him. For a man who might be better off blending in, he sits with a little ball of light next to him - claims he needs it to help him see his work; whether you believe it or not is up to you. So he's not exactly hard to spot, either.

Maybe you have some news about those Voidtreckers, for him? He's very interested in the rumors, and not exactly quiet about his interest.



Day 2 = (enough is enough)

It's a typical night, back corner of the bar, paperwork and a glass of whiskey. The ball of light that always seems to accompany him flutters over his left shoulder. He doesn't really need it to see, is the thing, but having it there is comforting. It's warm, familiar, and something about it is...

Something's wrong.

The ball of light flickers out. Without thinking, Jade raises his voice just enough to carry to who it needs to;

"Mythra?" What gives? He was using that--

Wait. That's what's wrong.

Mythra isn't here. And Jade sure as anything doesn't have light powers.

Maybe you heard him call the name of a woman who isn't here, who you've never heard of. Maybe you see him afterwards, looking vaguely stunned, as he watches the bar without seeing it. Or maybe you even catch him rising from his seat and leaving the paperwork where it is, something you as a regular patron or friend would know he's never done before.

(And if the air around him gets a little colder, well.)



Day 4 = (i'm taking this rationally, i swear)

If he can't be discreet, he might as well be obnoxious.

He picks a park that gets somewhat heavy traffic and constructs a large ice sculpture where there definitely shouldn't be one, closer to the road than the rest of the park. It's easily ten feet tall, not quite dwarfing the tree next to it. And Jade sits perched on top, like he doesn't have anywhere better to be.t.

Hopefully his reputation as the guy who drags the temperature down several degrees every time he enters a train car precedes him. No, it's not the cleanest way to get the attention of voidtreckers who recognize him, but it's faster than trying to find them on his own.

(Probably a good way to get the attention of other people, too; even those who have never been on the voidtrecker, or those who don't mean him well.)

Day Two - Evening

[ Della was heading for home when her amulet activates, as well as her own McDuck-taught instincts about illusions and the like. Her memories, the real and the imagined, slam in together and make her fall to her knees, nearly upchucking.

But what's the thing that's making her shake and start to cry? ]

Boys... my boys! MY BOYS! This... they tried take away my boys!

[ She'd forgotten her own children. And she's not going to forgive this world for that. ]

Day Three - Training Centre

[ Della's done her best to try and be stealthy about what she does and doesn't know. It hasn't been easy - she so badly has been wanting to reach out to her friends and make sure they're okay, but she can't tell if they're still in the fog or back to normal. She keeps going to work at the training center, trying to keep up appearances, so no one gets suspicious.

When the doors lock Della is more annoyed than anything, moving to try and kick it open with her prosthetic leg.]

Yeah, hang on... these things have been acting up for a while. Not sure why not, all of a sudden, but...

[ She trails off, looking at her leg. When did that happen? How did that happen...? ]

So after that initial moment of hesitation Madoka starts making her way over towards Della, staring at the other with wide, worried eyes. ]

[ SLICE OF LIFE ] - Day 1 - 4
Amy has, much to her dismay, still had to attend school in the last week even with everything happening. Still had a bedtime while the adults in her life talked about it. It's thoroughly not fair and they seem to know when she's listening in and send her away. Yet, for all she wants to know what's going on, there's other things to do. Namely:

Look up at the skies, for one, though each time she does, Amy's smart enough to look away before the headache gets too bad. Most of the time, at any rate, and there's a massive frown on her face each time, be it headache induced or not. "Awww. How can we study them if we can't look at them? It's not fair!"

Spending all of her money on lollies and ice cream and general snack foods... and or sharing them with anyone and everyone. Especially if you look sad or like you could use a friend or just a general distraction. "Here. I got this for you. Do you want a friend?"

Homework is another, and she's not shy about asking people for help with it. Or skipping that and asking anyone she knows if they want to come exploring the city's many nooks and crannies. It's fine. They'll fine. She's got a phone in her back pocket and an army of family to call if she gets into trouble.

Though, not that she's doing much of that of late. About a week ago, she found an odd rock -and she might show you where if asked nicely-, and ever since, she's been entranced by the Shadow Plays on the street corners. It's gotten to the point now that blue eyes flash and flicker gold, the air around seems colder, and her shadow sports a jagged grin. But then a blink and both are gone, the child none the wiser until someone points it out. "What, really? My eyes were gold?"

By the end of day three, it's impossible to hide the gold eyes or the way the air around her is colder than it has any right to be. When called on it, she giggles and waves it off. "Isn't it cool? I'm a superhero too! Miss Chilly! That's a good name, right?"

[ THE VOIDTRECKERS ] Day 1 - 4
Yet, even with all of that going on, Amy is Thoroughly Determined to help find out more about these Invaders that've come to destroy the world. Because that's what Voidtrekkers do, right? The movies and history said so and she hasn't any reason to believe otherwise. It's why she's watching people, or just going up to anyone who looks like they could be an Invader with a notebook, pen at the ready, and a grin. "Excuse me, can I ask if you've heard any new rumours about the Voidtreckers?"

Day Four sees her change tactics completely and far from just approaching people, Amy hangs back, watching and thinking. Suddenly, she's much, much more experienced in the art of following people. Well, as experienced as an eight-year-old can get, even with everything she's been through back home. More than that, there's a red-and-white metal sphere on her belt.

[ DREAMS ] Day 2 - 3
Amy, the real her, the child with golden eyes born on Arkea, has seen a lot. Amy, the child of Diagad, born in Jinnjam City, has most assuredly not. The worse she's seen is the rare dead body thanks to Shinichi's job. Yet now her dreams, be it from sleeping or naps during the day, have left her shaken to the point her mind itches. It's a familiar feeling yet it shouldn't be, but... but given everything going on, Amy hides behind smiles.

She doesn't want to worry anyone. Not when they have Voidtreckers to catch.

But it's there in gold eyes, in the way she holds herself. In the way she eyes the shadows that once fascinated her as if she's expecting something to jump out and attack her. And in the way she sometimes zones out, even if someone's talking to her. "Ah. Sorry, sorry. Can you repeat that?"

[ BROKEN ILLUSIONS ] Day 4
Fun would be waking up in your own bed back on your own world. This is not it. While Amy struggles not to show it, to those who know her, or know a version of her, it's abundantly clear she's <i>scared</i>. This isn't her home, this isn't her family. 

But she has to pretend to be normal, to fit in, that everything's OK. She's not sure how to do that and keep her 'family' safe. They're all innocent people and they don't deserve what the Voidtreckers are doing. Never mind she's not entirely sure it is them, but who else could it be?

What Amy does know though, is the Dia Mysteries story mode. Even if she's not thrilled about the assigned case. "Awww. Even here, Conan's luck with bodies still sticks."

Not that it stops the girl from squaring her shoulders because she's got this! She's totally got this! She's one of the Detective League after all!

Or, perhaps you are lucky enough to find her in one of the hidden nooks of the city, curled up against her Odd Keystone. Though, really, why spot the child when there's a rather sinister looking purple-green mist hovering over the Keystone. Amy blinks, then offers a wave. "Don't worry, Smiley's friendly. Promise."

Yes, that's the spiritomb's name.

He wasn't too suspicious really, in fact he was a well known soccer player! He did however have a strange purple watch on his wrist.

"New rumours?" Prompto asked, camera in hand as he'd been framing a shot.

"You know, I'm not sure. I haven't heard that much about them, except that I'm pretty sure they're pretty scary."

Day One - Working
Xue Yang doesn't mind his job. In between dealing with people he can play however many video games he wants to. He likes the fighting games. Ones where he can beat up his opponents with as much power as he wants to. He has to be careful though because if he gets too into the game, his power can activate. And the last thing he needs is to cause the power to go out in the store.

He is currently seated behind the counter, playing on one of the machines. His long hair is pulled up into a high pony tail on his head and tied with a long black ribbon. He hears the ringing of the bell as someone walks in. He has just finished his match so he sets the controller down and relaxes back in his seat. He looks towards them.

"What are you looking for?" Not the best people skills to be working in a retail environment but he hasn't been fired yet.

Day One - Home
He always hurries home after work, glad to be freed from the work day and ready to just relax at home. And mostly likely do a lot of the same things he does at work. He might be a video game junkie. But he also has more reasons to want to be at home. There is a pull to get back to his family.

He hops up the steps and pushes through the door to the house, a wide smile on his face.

"I'm home!"

Day Three - Dreams
Xue Yang doesn't like the nightmares that have started to plague him during the night. Things he sees himself doing, an excitement running through his body as he swings a sword. Imagines as if he were inside one of the video games he plays. But when there is one that he can't handle and every time he sees the man in white raise the sword, he jerks awake. Unable to watch the rest of it.

Being careful he removes himself from the room, being as quiet as possible so to not disturb the other occupant. Luckily he is very stealthy so it isn't hard to get out of the house soundlessly. He walks until he finds a bench and then sits down on it. He lets out a sigh as he covers his face with his hands.

"Maybe I need to stop playing so many games."

Day Three - Sunbathing
Xue Yang is at one of the parks, laying out on the grass and staring up at the weird lights in the sky. He doesn't know if he trusts what the people are saying about the sky being caused by the Voidtreckers. He's not sure he even believes that they exist. But there is a small piece of him, like a nagging in the back of his head that it is more then just a rumor.

He has the day off so he has decide to be outside and clear his head for awhile, which is why he has collapsed onto the grass and stretched out.

"This is boring..."

Relaxing but boring.
