So Familiar a Gleam: Conclusion
Time to leave!
There is not much of the city left, but the park is holding together as those anchoring help those who are not voidtreckers through back to where they belong. Monsters continue to attack and a little further out there is a battle of hearts and minds being fought with the mass of colours and chaos.
Eventually, after the bulk of citizens had been evacuated everyone with SCA's on would hear Jin-Roh's voice after a few frantic beeps, as Chiff aligned everyone's SCA's. "We are almost done here, if you are with anyone not tethered to a voidcraft get them to the evacuation point, as quickly as possible."
Anan pulls out of the anchoring point to call out to any defenders in the park. "Come on! Anyone who isn't a voidtrecker! It's time to go."
Luckily those off fighting the entity headed the message and made their way to the park as Jin Roh spoke again.
"Everyone else get ready. When we call it you need to leave. If you don't have your SCA on then get to someone who does."
As the last people rushed to the park Anan calls out again, through her SCA and outloud to the park. "You need to unanchor, before you can evacuate. Everyone be ready."
She goes in again though, because there are some last people, those from the large battle, getting through as another message was called.
"Almost there. Be ready. On my command..."
Anan unanchored again. "Quick everyone unanchor."
"NOW" Jin Roh's voice came through strong on their SCA's. Hopefully those with SCA's would grab those without.
There is some outside help as well, the train pulls anyone who is unconscious or still under the entity's control, forcibly evacuating them. This includes Wei Wuxian, Lan Wangji and Zagreus.
Luggage Carriage
There has been a mass evacuation before and that was crazy enough but since then the population of the train has almost doubled and now it is an extremely tight squeeze as everyone crashes into the luggage carriage at the same time.
The train jerks and rolls as they enter into the void at breakneck speed and again as they seem to slow, rather than speeding off though the void.
There's a crackling from their SCA's. "Voidtreckers? Voidtreckers come in!" Anan's voice. "Please tell me you made it..."
There's only a few moments of signal and soon they are flying though the void again, away from the strange non-world, the entity sealed for now. To new adventures, but first hopefully some time to recover from all that has happened.

Yondu Udonta - Blue Team - Merriment Day 15
He clings to dreams of standing behind a bar, smiling at leather-clad friends with their own versions of the flames. A mix of the Captains from the old days and people he'd met in Jinnjar and is doomed to likely never see again. He dreams of looking over Centaurian forests from a porch, of cupping his hands around a flower and watching it change from one hue to another. He dreams of a sky streaked in colors, pink bubbles interrupting the beauty in a way only he'd find threatening and damnably familiar. And sometimes, sometimes he dreams of floating bodies, watching and waiting for him.
He wakes after one of those, and eventually shambles his way to the kitchen after a half-assed effort to freshen up. He's too tired to do any real cooking, so he just grabs an ice cream cone, fills it with cold chicken curry leftovers because he doesn't want to fucking do a dish, grabs a package of sandwich meat, and sludges his way to the dining car to eat his monstrous snacks.
He's worn out, he's hungry, his head is full of fuck and he can barely think. Questions and other important things will have to wait until later.
He doesn't know Terran animals enough to say whether or not that's a viable solution.
She finds the a relic that a cult is also hunting for, but a member of said cult, elaborately robed, sets off the traps around her hoping she'll die so he can steal it. She's immediately caught in a complex situation of sliding stones trying to make an escape.
Yondu's dully watching, blinking slowly with his feet propped up on the seat in front of him, chewing popcorn at the speed a cow chews cud. Once he swallows, he mutters, "Had someone do that to me." And flips off the screen lazily. Peter Quill taught him a few things, as well.
It's at least doing a little bit to take his mind off some important losses. Sometimes shit is temporary. Sometimes it widens that hole in your aching chest. But he can't be sure yet, not until the platform.
FOOD CRIMES FOOD CRIMES
He does, however, stir when Yondu comes into the area, and blinks very slowly at the man's food choices.
"That looks..."
What are words? Words are hard. Give him a second, here.
"...Like a choice."
no subject
"Didn't plan for the crossin' to take so much out of me. Shoulda known it would."
He had fully lost track of the Sanzo at some point. "...You find Devero? He come back?"
no subject
Look, Koumyou has eaten worse things for a lot less reason, he's curious.
"He actually found me. I... kept falling back into the illusion, and he pulled me out again."
A little surprising for a guy with such strong anti-illusion training, maybe, but this had exploited one particular weakness in Koumyou's psyche; the allure of getting to be -- to have always been -- normal.

CINEMA
Anyway, he'd probably normally be all over the movie, but instead he's just kind of staring. Staring.
It takes a solid few seconds before he even realizes Yondu spoke.
"...Huh, the traps thing..?" He doesn't even quite know which traps thing he means. It could be all.
no subject
He doesn't take his eyes off the screen, but that popcorn took him nine years to get through it feels like, so he just offers the bag over to Katsuya.
"I miss doin' that kind of thing." He just sounds exhausted. "The Ravager shit I mean. Not the gettin' dicked over. Don't miss that. You alright after all that?"
no subject
He says that.
He might not actually register it.
Definitely not actually, given how long it takes to turn and answer the rest. "Huh? ...Oh, yeah. ...I think I hit somethin b'fore comin' back...'r maybe got hit by somethin'..?"
It is both.
"...gonna be real I think I blocked it out..." More correctly, the physical trauma of the event blocked it! Whoo!

So it is Yondu will have a dragon, long in body and roughly fox sized, sprawl across the seat next to him, acting for all the world like a creature as entirely exhausted as he. Frankly, with how he's laying, he can't see the screen. He's been napping on and off, no apparent indication of when he's awake since he doesn't bother opening his eyes overmuch.
"Wha' happen'd?" Lifting his head, he turns it to the screen before it goes blank, and his eyes blink slowly like he doesn't understand what's going on.

"Had an artifact retrieval. Rival commission wanted it. It wasn't big stones, though. The pit started fillin' up with water. I used my arrow to bust the pipe so it flowed into the next room."
All sort of drawled out, not taking his eyes off the screen. He's at least kind of absorbing the plot.
"I miss stuff like that, y'know. Just... Ravager shit." He doesn't miss a good hunk of his crew. He does miss the work, though.
no subject
He's tired, smaller nibbles feels less effort-filled. Yondu's story is interesting, kind of like bandit adventures, novels of the kind he'd enjoyed reading as much as the romances no one expects.
"You did... retrievals? Often?" Ravager shit, what exactly was it?

Crowley might not have thought of it like that before Yondu put it so plainly.
With a thin smile, he flops down onto a seat beside Yondu, placing a hand on his back.
"Good to see you, mate."
no subject
He reaches over and pats his knee.
"I'm gonna be honest... I dunno how that ended. One moment I was somewhere, next I was in the luggage car, next I'm wakin' up in my cabin."
He just gravely underestimated the toll that tethering like that would take on him. "How're you feelin'. You an' your angel both okay?"
no subject
"Present and accounted for." he replies to the question, with a heavy sigh. "I'm worried about Alice, but I think she'll be alright. She's stronger than she lets on."

"You're a genius," he tells him, before taking a bite of his own nightmarish snack cone.
no subject
"Don't taste too bad though." It's not a lot. He's not eaten in a full day, and he's bound to still be hungry. But he also doesn't wanna holler for people to make him food and he has no idea that Mami had offered to do such a thing because he was dead at the time. Just gone.
"Sanzo was worried about ya."
no subject
He's crunching into his with determination-- he needs a lot of calories to make this big body run. "Kinda works, right?" he says after a mouthful, pausing to tuck an errant slice of vegetable back inside.
--Ah. He pauses, and this time his fiddle with the cone is mere fidgeting. "I was worried about him, too," he says, a chasm of exhaustion and concern yawning open with this words. It's been a long mission.

"Ah...Yondu-san, if you wanted handheld curry, you could've asked me to make a crepe for you! I can still do it."
She's already whipping out those ingredients, her nose twitching at the sight of this mess. Oh, the poor man.
no subject
"I just didn't wanna do no dishes," he admits, putting down the partially eaten cone (this poor young woman) as he takes out a piece of sandwich meat to just roll up.
"I feel like some animal what woke up from hibernation. Shouldn't have crossed so many times."
cinema, this gon be slow cuz im still hiatus'd but this mental image is cute
Kyoko leans forward so she can steal popcorn from Yondu. She's sitting in a row behind him, and now half-draped across the seats so she can reach.
"Reminds me of a witch I fought once," she chimes in, crunching away, chewing with her mouth open like always.
no subject
It's a slow question, for being only two words. Obviously Yondu's running on fumes but also in that horrible place where sleep has happened too much and it's refusing to help him in any way anymore. He's sluggish.
But he is listening. Same to her as he is to the ridiculous chant the cult is doing while Sara "Montana" Craft skulks around in the darkness and listens.
Food Crimes like everybody else because what is a movie
Food is not usually one of the things she does not understand, but this man has definitely managed to make it one. Somehow. She's not dwelling too much on particulars at the moment. She's trying not to dwell on too much of anything. But she can't help herself and has to say something to him, tiredly. She can't even pretend she's not worn out.
"That can't be very appetizing."
no subject
But suddenly he remembers what it was that he did, and his face transforms from sheer exhaustion to an expression of potent 'oops'. Yeeeah, he did flirt with her in absolutely the worst way.
"Sorry for my behavior. I usually don't uh.... Well I ain't gonna say I don't do that kinda thing but not so hard an' not with people I know I'm gonna be seein' again with any regularity."
He might as well admit that he's been kind of a ho, even if he isn't so much here.
