Let it Snow: Blue Start

The moment the doors open for purple to jump the train is speaking again. “Blue team to doors. Void shift imminent. Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one” The train lurches and shudders as the windows flash the colour of the void for a split second before it shakes again and they are back in that frozen tundra.

The doors open and blue can jump down into a large snowdrift. They are at the foot of an impressive mountain range. Snow swirls around them, the wind hows. Ahead of them, half obscured by snow is a tunnel entrance.

Even getting there is exhausting, wading through the snow. Inside there is no snow but it is cold. The walls and floor shine with ice and the way is treacherous. It is pitch black.

Their task is to find those hiding in the tunnels. Some have formed makeshift camps in large caverns, others have fled into the small tunnels and have gotten themselves lost.

The voidtreckers are lucky to at least have a map on their SCA though it does not show where anybody else it. It is time to start the task of rounding everyone up and making sure they can survive the storm.

He wasn't sure what to say to something like that. It went far beyond anything he could imagine and the brown head shook. "It wasn't your fault if they held you captive."

He remembered meeting some of them, but the ones he met like Axel, Roxas and Shion were fellow keyblade wielders.

"I could have not listened or tried to protect them sooner." She'd been scared and alone. "I wish I could make it up to them..." Even now.

It was almost as if she deserved her fate of being trapped on this train, helping people and freezing. Terra on the other hand deserved to finally be with his friends again... not stuck with her.

Terra shook his head. "They're fine. And I'm sure whatever you did, if we see them or if you go back, you can tell them." There was a smile against the cold and the wind that had suddenly kicked up. He had Namine in his arms and he couldn't let her down.

When it stopped howling and swirling the snow to the point it was hard for Terra to see, his voice held steady. "And I'm sure they'll forgive you."

Cradling her to him to keep Namine warm, he fought to get to the entrance of the cave and was happy when he saw it. Sure there was ice inside but at least winds wouldn't be biting at them and having the snow blind them.

"Yeah." Naminé hoped that Terra was right. "Thank you Terra."

She waited until they were at the entrance of the cave before opening her eyes and looking up at Terra. The bear was still behind them and once they were inside, it took its place at the edge of the cave to guard them from whatever might have followed; like a good mama snow bear.

"Are we out of the storm?" Her voice was trembling slightly but she was worried about Terra. Neither of them were used to the cold. "Are you okay?"

"For what?" Honestly Terra had no idea why Namine was thanking him he hadn't done anything.

Blue eyes had stared at the creature, but he'd proceeded in to make sure Namine could rest or whatever. And when she asked if they were out of the storm, he nodded.

"Ya, we're clear." But he made no move to put her down nor even ask. At least the snow wasn't tugging and weighting down his hakama with cold or wet or high drifts anymore. And as he kept walking, he saw light, which were the light of fires.

Fires meant warmth and food. He wasn't okay but he nodded anyway. "We're almost there."

She smiled up at him. "For believing in me." He had faith in her and while she didn't understand why, she was thankful for it. Naminé only hoped that she'd be able to be as great as Terra thought she was.

Her cheeks flushed a light rosy pink as Terra continued to carry her through the cave towards the fires that dotted the distance.

"Terra?" Her lips parted as she looked up at him. "You aren't okay... are you? Are you cold?" She reached out and lightly pressed her hands against his cheeks. Her palms were warm from being curled against her chest and hopefully it was enough to warm him up, at least until they got to the fire.

He nodded, focused on the goal of getting out of the cold and getting them somewhere warm. That remained his focus until he got near the team.

Hearing Namine's voice cut through the cold and how stiff he felt. "Ya I'm fine." He really wasn't and as soon as Terra let her go to the other team members, he practically collapsed by the fire.

"Terra?" She reached for him as he left her with the team members to collapse next to the fire. He was exhausted and cold... and it was her fault.

Naminé moved him so that his head was resting on her lap as she gently pulled a warm blanket over his toros and thighs. "Thank you. Rest now. I'll take care of you." Even if all she could do was keep him warm.
