Let it Snow: Blue Start

The moment the doors open for purple to jump the train is speaking again. “Blue team to doors. Void shift imminent. Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one” The train lurches and shudders as the windows flash the colour of the void for a split second before it shakes again and they are back in that frozen tundra.

The doors open and blue can jump down into a large snowdrift. They are at the foot of an impressive mountain range. Snow swirls around them, the wind hows. Ahead of them, half obscured by snow is a tunnel entrance.

Even getting there is exhausting, wading through the snow. Inside there is no snow but it is cold. The walls and floor shine with ice and the way is treacherous. It is pitch black.

Their task is to find those hiding in the tunnels. Some have formed makeshift camps in large caverns, others have fled into the small tunnels and have gotten themselves lost.

The voidtreckers are lucky to at least have a map on their SCA though it does not show where anybody else it. It is time to start the task of rounding everyone up and making sure they can survive the storm.

Ignis had a lot of questions as to what a nuclear winter was, but he wouldn't ask. Questions wouldn't be asked because that's the type of person he was. So he slightly smiled and nodded. "There will be plenty of food and blankets packed for the cold." He wasn't sure if the man would know he was in very capable hands, but he was. "After all, we're doing search and rescue for lost and hungry people, so food won't be an issue." Plus, he's bringing his stuff to cook with because he can cook.

Drop:

More questions, what in the world was the Human Resistance to this Skynet? Maybe it was like the equivalent of the Niflheim Empire, and if that was the case, he didn't want the comparison right now because they more than had their hands full with the mission at hand. However, he couldn't help but nod at hearing what it could do. "That will be quite a useful thing indeed." They had no idea what creatures they would face and the more that those on his team that could help repress any ice elementals or outright get rid of them, Ignis was totally on board for it.

Ground:

Hearing about the freezing up, Ignis mentally went through the things he knew but had access to none of them here. So he nodded. "Noted, if there's a problem, you won't be alone." Of all the teams of course he was very proud of his own and they were his favourite. But being the leader with a smaller team of course had retaught him the value of teamwork. Not that he didn't know it before with the lads back home of course, but it reiterated the point. So he tried his best to instill that same code in his Blue team.

"Cooking? I've never really had to cook even when I was a human at one time. It seems so familiar though to what I had to do back home. We had to find humans stuck in terminator work camps."

Marcus nodded, looking around for any creatures or so nearby. "Looks clear for now, let's keep moving."

Ground

Marcus didn't turn but he acknowledged Ignis "Thanks, I'll always need someone to watch my back when things go rough."

This was a rather unpleasant topic because Ignis had the worst thoughts and images running through his head. "Well we were on cooking duty. There's ample time when we get back if you're interested." Anything to get those images out of his head.

Drop

There was a small smirk. "I do wonder how the creatures here were created." If they had meat on them there would be a hunt in short order because there were going to be plenty of people that they didn't know that would need food, not to mention it never hurt to have extra for the team.

Ground

The advisor nodded. "It's a good habit to stay in." Especially if they didn't know who was friend or foe at any given time. And Ignis had been in situations where previous adversaries became friends, Aranea Highwind for example had been one.

Cooking duty? Strangely, we never had the right supplies to cook at "home." but usually I'd get pieces of food rations that we found around the area if we were lucky. But actual food sounds wonderful."

Drop
Marcus looks up. "Perhaps we'll never know."

Ground
Marcus had been reminded of John Connor in that instance. "It took a little more convincing that Connor needed me as his friend."

Ignis smiled slightly. "We have plenty of rations for this trip as well. But when we get back to the train our team is on meal preparation. So if there's any assistance you require let me know." He thought a moment. "There are others who simply help clean the kitchen. So if that is a preference that can be arranged."

Drop

The advisor nodded to Marcus. Maybe they couldn't find out how they were made or if they were some sort of natural occurrence or not. But there was one thing he could find out. Summoning a dagger, Ignis threw it at the forehead of what looked like a bear from one of Tony's pictures. The beast roared and fell, turning into nothing but powdered snow.

There was a sigh of disappointment.

Ground

Not knowing who this John Connor was, Ignis still took note of the name. "You're among allies here, especially on the Blue Team. We all look after each other."

"Right, I can help you if you prefer. I only require small amounts of food to keep my skin from flaking off."

Drop
Marcus frowned, "Nothing at all." as he grabbed the dagger and gave it back to Ignis."

Ground
He's my friend and Commanding Officer.

I can tell you later about John Connor and some of the others."

The advisor shook his head. "I would never demand anyone do something they weren't comfortable with, so the choice remains yours." He wasn't quite sure what to make of the skin comment so he didn't. "Well there's plenty just in case you want it." Notice he didn't say need it.

Drop

He was quite touched the dagger was returned to him and once it was, Ignis dismissed the weapon. "I suppose not." The tone of disappointment remained. He was half hoping there was some actual flesh on it somewhere and that was not the order of the day.

Ground

Ignis was surprised to hear a little more about this John Connor fellow. It made him smile and that was a good thing. "I will certainly look forward to hearing about your friends around the campfire later."
