Let it Snow: Orange Start

The moment Red team jumps the voice speaks again. “Orange team to doors. Void shift imminent. Ten, nine, eight, seven...” There is a lurch and the train seems to tumble. The windows flash with the void for a second before they are once again surrounded by snow.

The train steadies, the doors open, the train is in mid-air and one step away from the train doors there is an ice platform. Crossing is not too hard, though a bit daunting. They are very high up and the ice is inherently slippy.

The platform is not large enough for them all and so the only natural way is for them to begin entering the labyrinth to allow everyone off the train. The moment the last person leaves the train it blinks away and the moment everyone has entered the labyrinth there is a grinding sound and the ice behind them closes.

For good or ill they have entered. Their goal is clear, a strange machine suspended in the centre of the maze but getting there will be a challenge. Though it looks like they should be able to merely walk towards it walls of ice stand in their way. The only way to stop any of this is to get through the labyrinth.

This water does not obey the laws of physics. It's definitely following them. Misa follows Padme. "There!" She says, running away and pointing down a side aisle again. She turns, skids and goes sliding.

It does startle Padmé, but should it? With everything that she has witnessed, why should this be any different. "By the stars..."

It's a moment, before she's moving again, trusting in Misa's sense of direction, as her own is limited in this situation. She's slipping and skidding, but she manages to get down the other pathway, glancing to make certain her companion is still there with her.

Misa goes sailing by Padme, on her butt, sliding on the ice. Okay, that's a little fun, or would be if they weren't running from something. She bumps into a wall and ricochets around a corner.

When Padme catches up, Misa is standing there, rubbing her hip. It doesn't look like their pursuer is still after them. "Ow."

It is almost comical, if the situation were other than what it currently is. Yet it does seem to work. In truth, it's not something Padmé would have thought about doing, but it does get Misa scooting along fairly quickly.

Although the stop might be something that she needs to work on.

Her sides are heaving slightly as she glances back. "Do you think... Would it go back?"

As maybe they should turn back and try the way now. Or maybe it isn't a one time event. Any insight Misa can add will be helpful, as Padmé is otherwise 'blind', limited to trying again to see if the second time will be any different.

Misa's butt is wet, her hip hurts and she really, really wants some tea and her blankets back at the house. Freema would sometimes come snuggle her, if she's having a bad night. She could use that right now.

She keeps rubbing at her hip, it's probably going to bruise.

"I don't think we should go that way, do you?" She says, curiously. Honestly, her gut tells her not to, but she'll go if Padme wants to.

She honestly doesn't know. With her, it is a simply case of explore and test. Would they hide something behind a threat to make them work for it? Or at the traps just randomly placed within the maze? Likely a mixture.

"We'll try somewhere else then." Trial and error. Padmé knows a fair bit about that. "A pity I never thought to bring something to leave confirmation of our passing, although who knows. This place may well guard it's secrets tightly and erase any attempt."

She does pause, looking to Misa. "Do you need a moment? I think we are relatively safe at the moment. I have an extra pair of gloves, if that will help any."

Misa shakes her head. "No." She says, stretching slightly. She'll be fine, if a bit stiff for a day or two. "I'm fine, but thank you for the offer." She pulls on her gloves tighter.

She takes a deep breath. "Alright, now where do we go? Left, right, straight?" She asks, looking around. She doesn't have a feeling any which way, so that hopefully means there isn't anything lurking down one of the corridors.

Padmé pauses then, not answering right away. Rather, she is trying to internally recall which directions she has tried and that have come to complete dead ends, and those that she had by-passed on the opposite side which she had started on. Given that it is a maze, it could well be an unlikely route to their destination, or it could be the most direct. Somehow she doubts the latter, as someone would surely that try.

"Straight, and then to the right? I haven't explored that way yet." Her brown eyes flicker down to Misa. "Unless you have?"

She shakes her head. "No, that sounds okay." There's some reassurance in her voice. Nothing is telling her not to go that way. "If it wasn't so cold, the ice might be pretty." She comments, heading straight, through the maze.

"I'm still more particular towards planets like my own," Padmé admits with a wry tone to her voice. Even Coruscant tended to be more groomed than not, as the planet wasn't very organic in nature after all these years. "But yes, there is a certain beauty to it. One I would rather admire from a holo or a painting."
