Orange Team Finale
Four days of ice maze, four days of cold, four days of wandering lost, falling into traps and slowly getting closer to the centre of the labyrinth.
There is very little warning in the labyrinth, those nearer the outer walls may see the storm get more intense outside but their first real indication that something is wrong is when the world lurches.
Parts of the maze have moved before, passages opening and closing. But now the whole labyrinth moves, shaking and twisting, spinning in the sky, as if it were trying to shake those inside out. They may be able brace themselves, they may be thrown down passageways, into ice walls.
The whole place seems to get colder. An attempt to freeze them out. The shaking only lasts a few minutes, but it is intense.
But even this attempt at getting rid of them isn’t enough it seems, because those close enough will soon find themselves entering through the last gap in the ice. To the machine room itself. Indeed it might be that they were flung closer by the shaking itself.

He gave his friend a couple moments to adjust to the news before continuing. "I'm going to touch your hands and feet and you tell me if you can feel it." A concussion was a given, but Hattori was worried about Conan's spine too. That had been a really awkward landing. Once he gets approval, he touches the palms of Conan's hands and his fingers and then his ankles. "All good?"
no subject
"A concussion," he says without any doubt. He holds his head and neck carefully still as he realizes what Hattori was testing. "I can feel that."

He sat down next to his friend protectively and looked around. He was cold just like everyone else, but he had layers on. Taking off his scarf, he carefully put it under Conan's head. Next he took off his coat and laid it over Conan's small body. The last thing they needed was Conan to go into shock. Last piece was his gloves under Conan's legs feet just in case. He might be overdoing it, but Conan was small and he didn't know what he'd do here without him.

"The machine?"
But he doesn't fight to get up. He knew first aid well enough to figure out what Hattori was doing, and trusted him enough to believe that if he was being treated for shock there must be a reason for it.

Normally there would be no way Hattori or Kudo would let someone else take on the main challenge of a case without being involved in some big way. However, Conan's safety was more important and Hattori knew Kaito was smart. He didn't know Curufin's analytical abilities but he'd been plenty capable in the past missions. If he had to relinquish control, those two weren't the worst ones to give it to.

"You said I hit my head. Is it bleeding? Any other obvious injuries?"
Even like this, Conan hated the idea of giving up on a mission before it was done. But if he couldn't even bear the light how could he solve another puzzle?
no subject
"Just a bit, but it isn't bad. And it looked like you had some bruises on your hands where you tried to catch yourself."
He hoped they would hurry up and get the machine to stop the storm soon. This wasn't a great place to be sitting around without the items he'd just given to Conan. "Reigen got it bad too. He broke his leg and had a few lacerations."
no subject
"My bag. I packed some first aid supplies." He just couldn't remember exactly what he packed, whether it would be of any use in stabilizing broken bones.
no subject
"Here we're going to do this carefully." Even if he'd determined Conan hadn't broken his back, he wasn't risking it if he had an injury Hattori couldn't detect back there.
"It's just ibuprofen, it should be safe for you to use. Turn your head to the side a little so you don't choke, okay?"
no subject
Carefully turning his head, he tries to shift into a better position.

"Hey, pull your scarf off so the wet spot isn't against your skin." He looked around at the others and frowned. "I'm going to go get someone else's scarf, so hang tight."
He hated leaving Conan, even for a few minutes when he was injured but he determined to take care of him too. He doesn't really ask Kaito so much as just pulls the scarf off him and races back to Conan. He tucks the warm fabric around the kid's little neck, glad Kaito heated it up for him. It was fine, the thief could complain about it later.

But with the way his head felt at the moment he just didn't have the energy motivation to do anything more than hold his head very still and focus on blocking the pain and dizziness.
"Kaito's?" he asks.

"Next time we go in a maze made of ice cubes, we're wearing helmets!"
