Day 7: Screw your courage to the sticking place: Start
For those who have been on the train a little while they will be expecting this, the beginning of a new month, after certain passengers have strange dreams. Early in the morning of day seven of the month of Egret their SCA's glow the colour of the void and a holographic message appears. Their next mission. Another world to save.
Preperation
Those that go to the dressing room will find flight suits and helmets, one per passenger. Those who are not human shaped will find ones adapted for them, some of them quite odd. The flight suits are tight fitting and light, but once they put them on they will feel quite warm. Each is the colour of the Voidtreckers team and have a black train symbol on the chest, the helmets have clear fronts and coloured backs.
They have an hour or so to prepare for their mission. Time to make sure everyone understands what a space ship is, at least. Hopefully.
Arrival
"We are now approaching System #7212108." Finally it is time. "Warning: Exit from void in ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one." A jolt, a flash of light and suddenly the colours are gone, out of the windows they will see they are in a large hanger.
And outside of the train there are five scaled humanoids with guns pointing directly at the train. Those that try the doors find they do not open.
"What void transport is this?" One of the creatures demands. "We didn't request void help, explain yourselves."
Another speaks. From where they are stood near the engine. "Voidtrecker Express."
Even though the voidtreckers are unfamiliar with these people the surprise is clear in the creatures eyes.
"Stand down." They snap at the others, who lower their weapons and step back.
The commander looks worried. "Give them anything they need." They turn to hurry out of the hanger.
The doors open, allowing the Voidtreckers off the train.
One of the remaining guards steps forwards.
"I am Hitrinto, I apologise, we were not expecting you." They look worried as well. "We have everything under control but if you are here..."
At that moment there is a clatter of noise over the radio.
"There are reports coming in of a second wormhole in the system." A second voice spoke almost immediately. "Shield Station Two has been hit. I repeat Shield Station two is taking heavy fire." A third soon after. "More enemies ships sighted, reports of a second wormhole confirmed."
Hitrinto looked at the Voidtreckers grimly. "Come with me."
If the Voidtreckers indeed follow them they will find an array of ships. Hitrinto quickly explains the basics, two person ships are easier to pilot. The controls can be shared or can be set so one person drives whilst the other concentrates on fighting. They have solo ships but they are difficult to pilot and they will only give them to those who have ship fighting experience.
Another guard hands out blasters and will give quick lessons to anyone who is unsure on how they work. For all that they were surprised they guards seem to accept the presence of the Voidtreckers and work quickly to get them armed and ready for battle. Choose ships, have a quick practice of weapons and get ready to go!
Onward!
Blue team are already where they need to be, they can begin to explore the station, get the lay of the land and figure out a plan of helping guard this place.
Everyone else is off, purple and red are off to the second wormhole, orange to the shield station that needs help! Board your ships and set off to help!
(OOC: Team posts detailing the next part of each mission will go up on the 15th March)

The news the other was telling him had him sit back a little. "An alchemist.." The advisor's voice cut out as he pondered that information and heard the other was willing to help with the project. And he was always curious about magic that others could do so he was more than happy to see what the other was capable of.
The combat comment was concerning and he shook his head. "Are you not suited for fighting?"
no subject
In short, he was about as useful as an ordinary nineteen-year-old kid.
"There's-...I don't know why I was brought to this train at all. There's nothing I can do to help people in situations like this."
no subject
There was also the shop if things could be procured that way.
The advisor nodded. "You're certainly not alone in your predicament. However, there are things that you can do such as handing out potions or rations as needed." There was a very slight smile as he thought of Madoka being in a similar predicament. "Support in any way can be more needed than being a fighter."
And Ignis would know, just ask his boys.
no subject
It was in fact impossible to doubt that the party would be lost in a ditch without Ignis, and Waver looked like the kind of person that would indeed end up lost in a ditch one way or another.
He sighed, shaking his head.
"I-I guess I'm fine to handle support roles, but I'm kind of..." Trailing off in uncertainty, Waver gestured vaguely with his left hand. "...I'm not used to doing these things alone."
no subject
Well his own cookbook was back home but he used his points to get it here. So that would be a thing he would have to look into. There was a pause from Waver and Ignis took a last sip of coffee. There was no rush for the other to speak if he wasn't comfortable doing so.
A small smile appeared. "If you would like, you can join the Blue Team for this mission as we're going to be more on the defensive side of things. There you most certainly wouldn't be alone in support. For you'd be working with a girl named Madoka."
no subject
Provided this wasn't all a huge mistake, and Waver wasn't too optimistic about that.
no subject
It was a habit to look out for people who couldn't really fight and protecting people was something he'd been doing since about age six to a dark haired big eyed kid who had smiled shortly after they met.
no subject
Then again, this probably wasn't the time to think on it.
"I just...I don't want to hold anyone back."
no subject
The last part caught his attention and he shook his head. "You're not holding anyone back by being on the Orange or any other coloured team. We're all here to work together to make sure everyone comes back safely."
no subject
"There just isn't much I can do when I'm this unprepared and my partner isn't even here. It's...discouraging, I guess."
no subject
Starting to put the things together, he turned and pulled the now boiling pot of water off of the stove. Turning it off, he looked back at Waver. "There's always something one can do, even if it might not seem like a lot at the time."
no subject
"I--yeah. I think you're right about that, it's just finding something that's the trick."
no subject
"It's the same as being on a mission. Everyone works together as a team and even the smallest job, such as handing out food or wrappings or something seeming minor means a great deal and saves someone else time when their presence is needed elsewhere."
no subject
Either he was woefully unprepared or stunningly outgunned, there really wasn't any winning.
"It's...kind of nice to know that it I'm not working totally on my own, at least."
no subject
Setting the cup down, he began to work. "Over on the counter you'll find cupcakes that you're welcome to. There's Blueberry with Buttercream frosting, Apple with a Cinnamon crumble topping, Maple with Brown sugar frosting and Pumpkin with Cream Cheese." He'd frozen some of the pumpkin bounty they'd had from the fall.
"But if you have some, if you wouldn't mind, let me know which ones you like the best."
no subject
He didn't have much of an appetite right now, but on the other hand it'd be stupid to just not eat anything.
no subject
"There's juice in the refrigerator, water and hot chocolate is above the cupcakes in a powder form as I recall. I can heat up some more water if you'd like some of that." This was his way of paying the kindness back of Waver giving him a vote on the cupcakes since his taste testers of Tony, Gladio and Prompto were mysteriously absent right now.
