Blue Team Onward!
Initial Guarding
Once the other teams fly off it is quiet once more at the military base. Blue team will be allowed to start patrolling, though there will be some areas such as the main command floor that are off limits. Any medically-inclined Void treckers will be welcome in the med bay and the guards will happily have some volunteers to do outside patrols.
But for the first day or so it is quiet, Hitrinto works as a liaison between the void treckers and the command staff, relaying messages and keeping them informed of the progress of battle.
Attack!
Late on the second day there is a break to the peace, alarms blare and lights flash red. "Enemy ships approach. Enemy ships approach."
Anyone who can get to the hanger quick enough will be given ships and sent off to fight. There aren't many enemy ships, four or five and hopefully they are beaten off easily.
But this becomes a semi regular occurrence. At least twice a day there are attacks. Patrols are stepped up, extra people are put on standby to man ships as quickly as possible.
Sabotage
Perhaps the attacks are a distraction. Because it is clear that something isn't right. Power goes down in one section or other. Equipment is messed with. Emergency doors are tampered with or left open. There aren't many people on this base but sometimes they will get the feeling of being watched. Of not being alone.
It soon becomes clear there are enemies inside the station and they are clearly biding their time. It is not known for what purpose. But finding them is probably a priority.

"Well lets think about what we know about bad guys. Any worth their salt would have someone on the inside messing things up. These guys don't strike me as idiots. Stands to reason they'd ever have people sneaking around or they've bought off some of the stations own guards to mess with the place." And mess with it they were. Gladio was getting sick of running off to handle some minor inconvenience like power going off or equipment going missing that he'd started ordering people to stand in shifts guarding those areas. It still happened despite that.
no subject
"Do you think we should stay back next time? There will be less people out there helping the fight, but maybe we could figure out if there's someone messing with stuff back here."
no subject
Hanging back to see what happens was a valid plan. He didn't like leaving the others short in their defence, but if it meant finding out who, or what, was causing chaos it would be worth it.
"I like it. Lets find out who this asshole is and stop them before they can do something worse." Like opening a damn airlock and venting all of the oxygen, and people, out into space.
no subject
He pulled back and did his best to compose himself like he hadn't just unexpectedly glomped the other guy. Clearing his throat, he nodded. "Yeah, we should.. uh, yeah. Maybe.. one of the abandoned levels or something.." It was hard planning when he was still sitting there with hearts dancing around his head.
no subject
"Maybe." Gladio agreed, still smiling and clearly in no rush to move now. How could he? Prompto was in his lap. He wasn't about to tip him off. So instead he leaned in to steal a kiss, because why not? Prompto was there and he was just too damn tempting. A minute wasn't going to kill them. And if it did, then at least he would die holding the man he loved.

His fingers tangled in Gladio's hair, softly tugging. He'd noticed the large man seemed to enjoy that and if he were being honest, so did he. He was deepening the kiss and getting really into it when something started to feel.. wrong.
He drew back with a frown and abruptly he found himself drifting up off of Gladio's lap. He wasn't falling to the ceiling but suddenly there wasn't anything holding him down either. Alarmed, his hands clamped down on those big shoulders as he scrambled to stay close. "Wh- what's going on?!"
no subject
Fingers in his hair had Gladio beginning to groan, but that tug that sent a tingle from his scalp down his spine caused that groan to be something deeper, more sinful. At least... it would have. Except Prompto was pulling away... The kiss was broken and Gladio frowned, a question on his lips, until he realised that Prompto wasn't getting off of his lap but floating up!
"The hell...?" Gladio immediately hooked his legs around the legs of the table, since the tables were nailed into the damn floor and not likely to float off. Then he reached out and grabbed Prompto around the waist to bring him back to him. Then a thrill of fear lanced through him and he looked around quickly. No gravity. Did that mean that the hull had been breached? Were they venting oxygen? No alarm had started sounding yet and the air around them wasn't whooshing out, so... maybe it was just the gravity?
"I think..." And then an alarm began to sound. It wasn't as loud and annoying as some of the alarms that they had been exposed to, so he guessed it was a specific one for this issue. "... I think we need to find the gravity gen."
no subject
The alarm went off and that helped like a jump start to his brain. "O- oh, okay. It's cool, we're cool. We're just.. floating away like a balloon. This is totally normal."
Cautiously, he reached out to grab the edge of the table too. "Think it's where that alarm is?"
no subject
In the end he just thought to hell with it and changed the grip he had on Prompto. He wrapped his arm around his waist from behind as he let himself rise from his seat and turned. Gladio grabbed the table, the chair floated off now he wasn't weighing it down.
"Okay, here's what we're gonna do. I'm going to kick us off, I'll try and aim for the door. Grab the door frame as we get to it. Got it?" He asked Prompto, then smiled and kissed his cheek. "... Need it for good luck." He teased. Because there was no time for more discussion. Gladio gathered his legs under him and, using the table leg as a stable surface, he pushed hard and sent them both floating at speed toward the doorway.
no subject
The kiss helped.
"Got it!" His mood had greatly improved and he was poised and ready to conquer anything. As they pushed off the table toward the door, he scrambled a bit but caught the edge of the doorway. Gladio's momentum kept going though and he grunted in discomfort when he was shoved up against the wall. For a second, he let go. As he felt their weight shifting backwards toward the room, he squirmed and to free more of his arm and grabbed the doorway again. "Whew, this is harder than it looks on TV."
no subject
"Never seen it." Gladio grunted as, once Prompto had the door frame, he attempted to grab the other side and swing them into the corridor so that he could grab one of the handrails running along it. He had to imagine this wasn't an uncommon thing and that was what they were there for. It would certainly help, since he was beginning to realise that brute strength was not going to help him in the slightest. Not when a simple breath was almost enough to send him into motion.
no subject
"If this wasn't so alarming, this could actually be fun! I mean, look!" He sent himself spinning like a somersault right into the wall on the other side of the hallway. Fortunately there was a handrail there too.
no subject
"Be careful, dumbass." Gladio muttered gruffly, really wanting to reach out and smack him upside the head for fooling around. No sooner was the words out of his mouth than Prompto decided to prove to him how fun it all was by slinging himself across the room, spinning and turning and Gladio was pretty sure he went an interesting shade of pale. "The hell are you playing at!" He yelled and started pulling himself toward his partner the smart way, using the rails. There was anger in his voice, anger he was using to mask the very real fear he was feeling. What if it wasn't the generator? What if there was a damn hole in the hull and Prompto was just floating around without a care in the world. What if he was sucked out into space? What if... Gladio REALLY needed to stop himself from thinking like that before he gave himself a damn panic attack.
no subject
He had to bite his bottom lip to keep from giggling at that gruff tone. His efforts were in vain since as soon as he turned and looked back at Gladio from showing off, he burst into laughter. He came back, shoving off the wall and moved right into the other man's arms. "I'm sorry! Haven't you ever wanted to fly? It kind of feels like that."
no subject
But then to be laughed at? Gladio was all set to rage at the blonde some more, but when he looked up it was to find the lunatic kiting toward him and he just about managed to let go of the rail with one hand so he could catch Prompto. And the second he had him, Gladio had him in a tight embrace he was sorely afraid would bruise the other but he couldn't quite relax his hold.
"... Not like this..." Gladio managed to get out, doing his best to keep his voice calm. But he allowed himself a second just to press his face into Prompto's shoulder. "... Just... wait... We'll check it out and make sure it's safe. If it's safe you can float around as much as you damn well want."
no subject
He hummed a happy note as he was hugged and pressed a kiss to the side of the Big Guy's neck. "I'm sorry. I'll be good now, Cupcake." He giggled again and gave Gladio another couple kisses along his neck to his cheek. He drew back a little. "Have I told you how happy I am we're together today?" This kiss got put on the tip of Gladio's nose. "Alright, going into 'serious mode'! 3- 2- 1- let's do this."
no subject
"Prom..." Gladio sighed when his love pulled away from him. He wanted to be strong, dammit it was the one thing he was good at. But right then he was at a complete loss. "I'm sorry." He pulled Prompto closer, not wanting him too far away. And now he was closer, Gladio leaned in and kissed him. There was a lot on that kiss, his fear, his guilt for being so damn weak in front of Prompto, his fear for Prompto... and his love. Because he was happy they were together as well. For however long that would be. He was glad to have been able to share this with him.
no subject
He put his arms around the big man and happily kissed him back. "I think you're perfect. It's not every day I get to be the strong one. It makes me feel good to finally get to do this for you. You know I don't judge you for being scared of something right? You're still the bravest and strongest man I know."
no subject
"... We should get moving and get the gravity back on. And find whoever did this damn thing in the first place." And maybe shove him out of the nearest airlock. Gladio was quickly finding his fear was turning to anger now he had something to focus it on.
no subject
He nodded in agreement and with one more quick kiss, he turned and moved along the hall using the hand rail. For once, he was the first one instead of behind Gladio or Iggy but he felt a new sense of confidence knowing he was being relied on.
As they turned a corner, Prompto spotted one of the panels along the wall ajar. Floating over to it, he pulled it open and grinned back at Gladio. "Jackpot!"
no subject
Hand over hand, he pilled himself along, kicking off a little to keep up with the blonde.
"That's it?" He asked once they'd turned the corner to find the panels. He had no idea what he was looking at but assumed that Prompto would have some idea.
