Blue Team Onward!

Initial Guarding

Once the other teams fly off it is quiet once more at the military base. Blue team will be allowed to start patrolling, though there will be some areas such as the main command floor that are off limits. Any medically-inclined Void treckers will be welcome in the med bay and the guards will happily have some volunteers to do outside patrols.

But for the first day or so it is quiet, Hitrinto works as a liaison between the void treckers and the command staff, relaying messages and keeping them informed of the progress of battle.

Attack!

Late on the second day there is a break to the peace, alarms blare and lights flash red. "Enemy ships approach. Enemy ships approach."

Anyone who can get to the hanger quick enough will be given ships and sent off to fight. There aren't many enemy ships, four or five and hopefully they are beaten off easily.

But this becomes a semi regular occurrence. At least twice a day there are attacks. Patrols are stepped up, extra people are put on standby to man ships as quickly as possible.

Sabotage

Perhaps the attacks are a distraction. Because it is clear that something isn't right. Power goes down in one section or other. Equipment is messed with. Emergency doors are tampered with or left open. There aren't many people on this base but sometimes they will get the feeling of being watched. Of not being alone.

It soon becomes clear there are enemies inside the station and they are clearly biding their time. It is not known for what purpose. But finding them is probably a priority.

Piccolo | OTA!!

I. Initial Guarding

There were quite a few times while on patrol that Piccolo got the urge to fly off and enter battle with the purple and red teams on that first day. But his strategic mind helped calm him and told him to keep to the back lines as if it were the saiyans out there fighting an extremely powerful foe. He would be better to stay here and defend if and when the time came rather than fly off like a child just to prove his worth.

So after some restless pacing, Piccolo eventually found an area out of the way but close enough to some of the soldiers so that he could listen--which, honestly, didn't have to be that close considering his intense hearing range--and took up residence there. He sat crossed legged, floating several feet off the floor, and with his eyes closed. He did his best to meditate even though he was 'watching' the battle outside with his ki sensing and listening to the commanders issue orders and relay information back to his team.

II. Attack!

Piccolo's eyes snapped open a second before the first alarms started blaring. It was harder to ki sense this battle since the people weren't using their ki to fight like he was used to but he'd had a whole day to practice--he felt the enemies approach at the last second and knew battle was finally headed their way. His lanky form unfolded from its cross-legged position and slowly started to stretch this way and that. He wasn't in a hurry, he didn't need to be.

What happened next was a bit of a blur. Piccolo dashed to the hangar in record time. A flash of light indicated the Namekian had summoned a new set of wardrobe--a flight suit almost identical to the one left back on the train for him. He took a deep breath to get used to the enclosed space inside the helmet and let it out slowly. That was all the prep he needed.

Despite all the warnings, Piccolo rushed out of the hangar doors as soon as they opened for the fighters to disembark. His flight was as true as any of the spaceships and just as fast if not more so. There was no fear or hesitation as he neared the space battlefield.

If the enemy had any confusion as to what the lone humanoid in space was doing it was quickly dissipated as a surprisingly large blast of energy headed towards the would-be attackers coming straight at them directly from the humanoid in a space suit. It was clearly an enemy with it's own weapons that would obviously destroy their fighters so they responded appropriately.

And that's how a green alien in nothing but a flight suit entered into a dog fight with an enemy spacecraft.

III. Sabotage

When Piccolo wasn't outside blasting spacecraft to smithereens with the force of his punches and large ki blasts, he began to wander the hallways between short rests of meditation. He was much less restless in his wanderings now. He knew what he was doing and that his presence here wasn't a complete waste. That helped immensely.

Then the strange occurrences started happening. At first Piccolo thought it was simply a natural matter of the battle going on. Sometimes things went crazy in a full on war and power got knocked out with a stray blast or something. But it quickly became apparent that something else was going on here. Something a little more suspicious.

Piccolo didn't like the feeling of being watched he began to notice in the air. And from the whispers of others, he wasn't the only one getting these creepy feelings.

So the Namekian began to reach his ki sensing ability into the ship rather than out of it, especially whenever that feeling of being watched fell on him. He could easily tell the difference between the Voidtreckers and the soldiers since he was familiar with the energy signatures of his fellow passengers after having spent so much time stuck on a train with them. That left the soldiers to get used to and to suss out whether any of them were acting suspicious whenever he felt them nearby. And beyond that, he kept a sense out for anyone in the area trying to go unseen or acting or moving in a way that would let them slip past both the Voidtreckers and the friendly soldiers. It could just be a very good (or invisible) spy on board.

And not to forget his shame in the Universal Tournament, Piccolo kept a keen ear out too. Relying on his ki senses had gotten him and the other Z Warriors into trouble once or twice, after all. Better to use all of his honed senses rather than the one.

gyousou - ota

[personal profile] eyeslikeblood 2020-03-15 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Initial Guarding

Intending to guard, Gyousou instead spent the first day exploring. Either alone or with others, depending on their availability and his own interest; it was obvious that the layout - the materials, the logic behind it, the controls and mechanisms - were all entirely foreign, and he wanted to be familiar enough to not be a hindrance in an emergency.

And if he spent more than an hour total stuck behind doors or lost in the storage warrens, well. At least he wasn't alone.

Sabotage

He had started to learn the controls of the ships, but once the attacks grew more frequent and the paranoia of the increasing sabotage began, leaving the station even briefly became too much of a risk. Instead, he took to standing guard between the medbay and the closest they were permitted to the command area, depending on who was where at the time. He had even taken a blaster, though his accuracy with it was middling at best - he could at least bludgeon someone with the butt of it.

His sword he left in the medical area, not wanting to cause bloodshed elsewhere.

-1: Initial Guarding-

Samata wasn't one for patrolling. She had more important things to do. A single red flight suit in a crowd of blue could be found in the mess hall, where she had set up a book, a cup of tea (or the local equiavlent), and a round sheet of metal about the size of a dinner plate and covered in complicated designs etched into the surface.

It wasn't clear what she was doing, but every few minutes, the plate would glow red, orange, purple, or (rarely) blue, and Samata would suddenly stand up and look around as if she was somewhere else entirely, having conversations with people no one else could see. When she finished this, she would make a note in her notebook and pass on to everyone else in the area what people on the other teams were up to. She was her own command center, passing intelligence between teams.

-2: Sabotage-

After the first round of infiltrators made their mood, Samata took precautions. She hunted down potentially dangerous places for people to get (with the help of the locals, as she sure wasn't sure what was important in a place like this), and spent a few minutes etching MORE runes onto the floor, or walls. They were fairly discreet, but anyone who got too close to them because they were snooping around somewhere they shouldn't have been would activate the teleport trap and find themselves suddenly standing elsewhere.

Specifically, in the brig, where a matching rune had been applied. Only a fool attacks a wizard who has had time to prepare for them.

Attack

When the alarms sound, he is quickly up and running toward Hitrinto to find out what was going on. Whether he heard it from the liaison or others, he ran for one of the ships but hesitated when he was faced with the option to go alone or take someone else. He hopped in with the first person he saw and took the guns.

The second time this happened, he still came running, but this time he was faced with a tougher choice. That initial time had taught him all he needed to know about flying the ship so he could go solo, but there were also kids and others who might need assistance. He checked this the third time too.

Sabotage

Something didn't feel right. He had gone on the first few fights on a ship to meet enemy ships, but then he couldn't ignore the gut feeling he was having. It was the second day of this routine and he stayed behind. He hid as the others ran for the ships and started stalking slowly around the ship for anyone who might be causing these problems.

He wasn't sure if it was a good thing or bad, but he found exactly what he was looking for. With more focus than anyone who had met him on the train would've given him credit for. The joking, bubbly personality of his was quiet to let the Crownsguard on a hunt take control.

Other

They couldn't be fighting and sneaking all the time. Fortunately for those on the station didn't have to. There was a mess hall, after all, and though they didn't have a lot of time for it, Prompto was enjoying one of his breaks by chowing down on some kind of space noodle. It was what he found that looked the most normal. If it wasn't, he really hoped he never found out.

Sabotage - for Romeo

[personal profile] dredefulchilde 2020-03-16 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Things seem to be going from bad to worse. Klaxons are blaring, warning lights keep flashing, and it’s giving Joscelin a terrible headache. He wishes he could be more actively in the fight, but he promised to keep Romeo safe. Now more than ever. He’s virtually indestructible; Romeo isn’t.

He isn’t certain what time it is—everything seems to run together in space and his usually reliable internal clock seems off—but when things quiet for a moment and he and Romeo are sat in a corner for a few minutes’ rest, he notices something.

“Did you see that?”

"What the hell are you eating?" Gladio had taken a break himself, mainly to grab a drink before he went out and took up his station once again. On entering the mess hall, however, he'd spotted a familiar blonde and had to go over to see what he was doing. And why he was eating something that looked like coloured string. "That looks disgusting."

Sabotage-

[personal profile] callmegladio 2020-03-17 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
Gladio was getting frustrated. There was an itchy, crawling feeling between his shoulder blades and it was pissing him off. Something was wrong. Something more than the obvious.

There had been several waves of attackers so far, they'd managed to keep them at bay, but for how long?

That wasn't the worst of it though. Something was going on that Gladio couldn't put his finger on but he was on edge. He'd started patrolling the corridors, not sure what he intended to find, but when he found Samata doing something to one of the hulls he had to force down the initial suspicion in favour of calling out to the woman.

"What've you found?" He asked as he hefted up his great sword onto his shoulder and walked toward the woman. Gladio had been in the thick of it so far and now sported a few bandages on his left arm and his flight suit had seen better days. But he was still smiling as he approached, even if that smile was a tad confused.
bethereprompto: (Default)

[personal profile] bethereprompto 2020-03-17 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
He looked up with a fork halfway to his mouth. At Gladio's remark, he wrinkled his nose and groaned, setting it back down. "Oh come on, dude! Don't make me think about it!" He was really trying not to.

"It was the closest thing I could find that looked.. you know, like something I could eat. I think it's a noodle." He pouted, taking another look at it. Those weren't eyes. Nope, those definitely weren't eyes. Were they eyes? (No, they weren't.) "Aren't you hungry?"
callmegladio: (39)

[personal profile] callmegladio 2020-03-17 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Gladio pulled a face and reached past Prompto to snag one of the strings of what the blonde was claiming to be noodles. He gave it a critical look before he lifted his hand, tilted his head and let it slide into his mouth.

He chewed.

Chewed a bit more.

And pulled another face. "... Those taste how they look. I think I'll wait till we're back on the train to eat."

[personal profile] bethereprompto 2020-03-17 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
Just watching Gladio try it had Prompto pushing the bowl away from him. Nope, he was done.

"Think that'll be any time soon? I don't know if we've even cracked the surface of what's wrong with this place." He pulled his bag from under the table and rummaged around for one of those granola bars Iggy made. It wasn't all that satisfying, but it was better than braving any more of those noodles. "Is it just me or does it seem like someone's messing with us?"

"A hatch that is only supposed to be opened every six months by an inspector, according to the guards."

She put a few finishing touches on her runes. "There. If any would be saboteurs try to open this, it will activate the rune and they'll have nothing left to do but cool their heels in jail. Hello again, Gladio."
callmegladio: (12)

[personal profile] callmegladio 2020-03-17 09:28 am (UTC)(link)
"You felt that too, huh?" Gladio grabbed a chair and pulled it out to drop himself down upon it. Dear old Gladio had earned himself a choice few war wounds since the fighting had started. Nothing too serious though. Nothing the healers and a couple of bandages to his left arm couldn't fix right up.

"Well lets think about what we know about bad guys. Any worth their salt would have someone on the inside messing things up. These guys don't strike me as idiots. Stands to reason they'd ever have people sneaking around or they've bought off some of the stations own guards to mess with the place." And mess with it they were. Gladio was getting sick of running off to handle some minor inconvenience like power going off or equipment going missing that he'd started ordering people to stand in shifts guarding those areas. It still happened despite that.

[personal profile] callmegladio 2020-03-17 09:33 am (UTC)(link)
Gladio grinned. This he liked. "There's a few on the other side that keep opening. Did you get to them or..." He made a gesture for Samara to follow him, if she wasn't already busy of course.

"And hello again." The grin widened, no, that wasn't a flirty tone he had used. He was a professional! They were here to do a job. Plus there was Prompto! And yet...

Initial Guarding

Marcus crossed his arms and stood back, watching the train take them into space of all things. Ok, so he was used to fighting terminators on Earth but invaders in space, this was all new."

Marcus had a blue flight suit but did some patrolling around the area. Different Commander, different rules.

He frowned, he'd use his own experience on the battlefield to help when it came down to it. But this was the back lines.

He'd seen Blair fly planes before but he'd never taken to flying himself, so he'd stay back and protect the other soldiers and the blue team.

-Attack-
Marcus watches as the ships begin to fill up and take their places outside in space as the alarms blared.

Sabotage
Infiltrators got into the station and that left Marcus to do what he did best, slam his fist in various intruders.

He just was careful to avoid friendly soldiers and the voidtreckkers on board.

He caught wind of someone being in somewhere they shouldn't of. If they didn't speak fast they'd be punched hard.

Seeing Prompto running towards danger, Ignis grabbed him. He was remaining behind on the station with Madoka to keep her safe. And if everyone on the blue team abandoned the space station no one would be here to protect it with the guards. The advisor was sure the shield was around here somewhere and he was looking forward to fighting alongside him. That went for Prompto too and Ignis of course wanted to keep everyone safe.

"We're not going out there right now." the advisor said with a small glint of glee behind his spectacles. "We've something more important to do here.."

Terra was standing guard trying to figure out why everyone was leaving. He had no problem with hopping into a spaceship and flying off into who knew where, which he of course would do. But at the same time they had to guard the place and so that's what he was sticking with. He'd helped the other guards and his keyblade had gone swinging. But now the station seemed almost empty and that bothered him so he stepped back a bit.

His boots clanged on the floor which unnerved him until finally it seemed he hit something solid. Or somebody.

Samata kept passing him, as she made her way around the base, setting up more rune traps in places she judged that a saboteur might want to go but a loyal person wouldn't. The second time, he got a little nod of greeting. The third time he got a "Hello again."

The fourth time she actually made an attempt at conversation. "You never really stop walking, do you?"

It was fleeting at first. But after some effort his Ki would be able to pick up an unfamilliar energy signature. Not the Voidtreckers, and feeling different to those they were helping.

There's a shuffle from behind him, it wouldn't have been audible if he wasn't listening so hard. If he reaches out with ki he will feel something skittering away, around a corner behind him.

"Is he...?" Ple Two squinted as Piccolo leaped out into space all on his own like it wasn't a big deal.

It wasn't.

He could fly in a vacuum. And could launch enough pure energy from his body to destroy these attackers. The sight of him in the spacesuit was at least a little comical, but she was well behind him, and a little worn out from chipping in with the combat situation elsewhere.

So she'd focus on swooping around Piccolo and picking off anything he didn't just vaporize.

"I don't know if that's a relief or makes this worse that I'm not the only one thinking that." He thought about it a few moments. Feeling more confident with the idea, he could see the pattern that was developing.

"Do you think we should stay back next time? There will be less people out there helping the fight, but maybe we could figure out if there's someone messing with stuff back here."
