Orange Team Onward!

Arrival

Their flight path makes sure they are well out of the way of both the battles taking place and they get to the shield station within an hour as long as they fly quickly.

There are no enemy ships around but it is clear there has been an attack, the shield disk itself is damaged and there seems to be no power in the station.

Once they dock they will be met by some technicians who quickly explain the situation.

Help is needed everywhere. The power needs repaired, the shield needs repaired from the outside, there are injured technicians who need medical care. There is a small med-bay available.

Maintenance

Once the initial crisis is dealt with it is a case of keeping up with things. A patrol is needed to guard the station from other attacks, there are four shield stations in total and so the voidtreckers may chose to split themselves once things are a little calmer.

Keeping up the shields is an almost constant job, especially with the attacks. Once one thing is fixed it seems another thing is down. The maintenance itself is very technical but there are parts that can be done by the unskilled as long as they have direction.

He took a deep breath, nodding. Trying to stay positive probably helped, and sometimes he was great at that, but other times...he wasn't. One way or another though, they would deal with things.

"I'm...I'll be alright," he said. He smiled a little, but it didn't quite reach his eyes. "I've never done anything like this before, so I'm just...trying my best."

"It's okay to be scared. Gods only know I am," Eva admits a little ruefully before she exhales with an honest, if tired, smile. "The best is all we can do. If you need help, I'll help. I know enough about first aid that it should be some use."

Hopefully, but like she's admitting she doesn't know. Not right now at least. "And worse case, Princess can sing them to sleep for a bit while we get to work."

Dyme wouldn't admit that he was scared though, even if he was. If he didn't admit it, he could keep pretending he was braver than he felt. "Thanks." He appreciated the offer, especially since he really only knew about half of what he was doing. There was a lot of guessing and a lot of hoping. "It'd be nice if people stopped getting hurt in the first place." But he doubted that was going to happen, so what he really hoped was that they didn't get hurt too badly.

"Who's Princess?"

"It would..."

But she's pretty sure they both know that's not a realistic expectation right now. So, rather than say what they'd both thinking, she grabs that subject change and grins. "You know the pink fluffball that can be seen around the train sometimes?" When he's not sleeping, napping, with her, or curled up under a seat, or in his pokeball at least. "Would you like to meet him?"

He nodded. It was kind of hard to miss something that was pink and mobile, especially on a train, though he'd never gotten a look up close. "Yeah, sure." He was intrigued and this was a lot better than worrying about the state of the mission or people getting hurt.

Eva grins and unhooks a red-and-white ball, somewhere between the size of a tennisball and baseball, from her belt. A tap of the button later, Princess is revealed in a flash of bright light and sound.

He's a pink pseudo-rabbit-like pokemon with vestigial wings. He seems small-ish right now, but only because he's not on his hind legs. "Pi?"

Okay, that was pretty weird, but he was starting to get used to there being a lot of weird things on this train. Besides, he quickly forgot about how weird it was when he got a look at how cute Princess was.

"Oh. My. God. It's adorable." And cute things automatically improved moods. Dyme's was improved, at least. "I've never seen anything like it."
mtsilver_conquor: (Eeeeeee~!)

[personal profile] mtsilver_conquor 2020-03-27 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Princess seems to preen as if he knows he's cute, while Eva laughs, face practically lighting up in excitement.

"I know right? He's easily the second cutest pokemon I own after Goopy. He was even more of a fluff when I first caught him, and smaller too. Though," she eyes the preening clefairy and smirks. "Right now he's the cutest I have, and he knows it."

"Pokemon?" he repeated. He had no idea what that was, exactly, besides what he was looking at. "I can't imagine how he'd be even more fluffy." He didn't doubt it, though. On the other hand, he was a little concerned about anything named Goopy and not sure if he should ask about it or not.
mtsilver_conquor: (Laughter)

[personal profile] mtsilver_conquor 2020-03-29 11:33 am (UTC)(link)
"The animals native to my world. It's short for pocket monsters."

She shrugs a little, not even remotely shy about admitting her world has monsters. Then she grins. "Picture him with a third more fluff than he has now."

It might be safer not to ask; Goopy is her beloved muk.

"Pocket monsters? That's a weird name for animals." Especially since he couldn't figure out where it would have come from. It wasn't like Princess could fit in anyone's pocket. Except for with the ball thing, but that would be a weird thing to factor into naming animals. "Who would think something this cute should be called a monster?"
mtsilver_conquor: (Thinking it over)

[personal profile] mtsilver_conquor 2020-04-01 12:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"We used to call them 'mamono' before we discovered apricorns and how to turn those into monsterballs," she nods to the pokeball in her hand before she turns serious.

She sighs. "There's cuter monsters in my world, but they are monsters and wild ones aren't exactly safe..."

She really hopes she doesn't have to elaborate.
swansongs: (To what I said)

[personal profile] swansongs 2020-04-01 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
He had to try very hard not to laugh at the phrase 'monsterballs', and was very proud of himself when he succeeded. This was pretty serious, after all, even if the name was amusing.

"Yeah, I imagine they're not. Like, every wild animal or whatever can be dangerous, no matter how cute." Or small, or large. "Also I have to ask. What the hell is an apricorn?"

[personal profile] mtsilver_conquor 2020-04-06 11:55 am (UTC)(link)
Eva nods, but is more than happy to move onto better, more important topics.

Like apricorns. "It's a fruitnut native to Jōto. It's about this size?"

She makes circleish shape roughly the size of a smallish baseball.

"It's what monsterballs were originally made from about."
swansongs: (That I should really stick)

[personal profile] swansongs 2020-04-08 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
"Oooh, gotcha." He paused for a moment, tilting his head to the side. "It's pretty cool that fruit things can be made into stuff like monsterballs." He wasn't going to pretend he understood how it worked, but it was cool all the same. He didn't understand how monsterballs worked, either. It looked like magic, but for all he knew it was just some kind of technology he'd never seen before.

Look, as gung-ho and walking pokemon encyclopedia as Eva is, even she doesn't know that much about pokeballs outside the fact there's a bunch of them, the very basics on how they work, and they've been around for a very long time.

"It is, though nowadays, most types of monsterballs are mass-produced. But, that's not to say you can't buy apri-balls, though they do cost more, but that's because they're handcrafted over the course of a day or two."
