Orange Team Onward!
Arrival
Their flight path makes sure they are well out of the way of both the battles taking place and they get to the shield station within an hour as long as they fly quickly.
There are no enemy ships around but it is clear there has been an attack, the shield disk itself is damaged and there seems to be no power in the station.
Once they dock they will be met by some technicians who quickly explain the situation.
Help is needed everywhere. The power needs repaired, the shield needs repaired from the outside, there are injured technicians who need medical care. There is a small med-bay available.
Maintenance
Once the initial crisis is dealt with it is a case of keeping up with things. A patrol is needed to guard the station from other attacks, there are four shield stations in total and so the voidtreckers may chose to split themselves once things are a little calmer.
Keeping up the shields is an almost constant job, especially with the attacks. Once one thing is fixed it seems another thing is down. The maintenance itself is very technical but there are parts that can be done by the unskilled as long as they have direction.

Normally Elves wouldn't handle hard vacuum any better than a living mortal would, but Curufin is a bit of an exception, since he does theoretically have the ability to revert to ghost form. He was in that form when the VoidTrecker found him, and he was traveling the Dark Between the Worlds in that state. But like he says, it can be troublesome to make it work, to do it as an act of conscious will, so he doesn't do it except under very trying circumstances.
"And you, Danny, you're not going to need a suit, are you? You can go ghostly in a heartbeat, right?"

"You've been in space before as a ghost? Good, that'll be valuable experience in this situation!"

"Race you there?"
no subject
"Race you!" And he takes off running for the elevator and airlock that will get them to the outside.

Too bad he forgot about the other side. He slams right into the back of the elevator.

"I'm okay! Back home I got thrown into buildings all the time. I guess my kind of ghost is pretty durable."
no subject
"Oh, so you're used to being clocked in the head by hard walls. Good thing you're durable!"
He punches the buttons in the control box and the elevator lifts and carries them up to the upper level of the station. When they exit the elevator, they'll see a sign that says, This way to the airlock. Do not enter it unless you are intending to exit to the station's outer hull. Do not exit unless you are wearing suitable protective gear.
"Guess they put that sign up for us VoidTreckers. I guess the station personnel would know there's no air out there in space!"
no subject
Danny shrugs as he sees the sign.
"I don't know about that. Maybe they were worried about being sued."
no subject
He has to laugh. "Dead people don't sue, unless they get rescued in one hell of a hurry and don't die. But of course, there must be a thriving ambulence-chasing lawyers' business out here in space! Wonder where their office is? Maybe we should look for it before we go out the airlock?" Big grin.
And speaking of the airlock, there it is up ahead. A sturdy steel door with the words, AIRLOCK printed across it in bold red letters. "This must be the place," says Curufin, putting on his helmet and zipping up his space suit.

"I guess this is the test, then."
Would you want to continue this thread or handwave the repairs?
"Yes, this is the test!" And he presses the button that opens the airlock door. It hisses open, and they can now walk into a limited space, an eight by eight by eight foot cubicle. It's walls are plastered with warning signs similar to the one outside. At the other end there is another metal box on the wall with a big red button in the center. OPEN DOORS, it says. And beside that, there are the doors that lead outside to the surface of the station.
"Well, here goes," says Curufin, and punches the button. The doors slide open, the atmosphere hisses out, and the two VoidTreckers can go out, assess the repair problems, and get started.
Handwave should be better, with the next plot starting soon
"Eh, that's just the way ghosts are, you know? They throw me into walls, I stop them and send them back to the zone."
Danny looks out into space with interest.
"This is seriously the coolest job ever."
Okay, then it's a wrap!
Curufin steps out onto the surface of the space station and comes to stand beside Danny. "I agree. Let's get started on this coolest of jobs!"
