Arrival

Their flight path makes sure they are well out of the way of both the battles taking place and they get to the shield station within an hour as long as they fly quickly.

There are no enemy ships around but it is clear there has been an attack, the shield disk itself is damaged and there seems to be no power in the station.

Once they dock they will be met by some technicians who quickly explain the situation.

Help is needed everywhere. The power needs repaired, the shield needs repaired from the outside, there are injured technicians who need medical care. There is a small med-bay available.

Maintenance

Once the initial crisis is dealt with it is a case of keeping up with things. A patrol is needed to guard the station from other attacks, there are four shield stations in total and so the voidtreckers may chose to split themselves once things are a little calmer.

Keeping up the shields is an almost constant job, especially with the attacks. Once one thing is fixed it seems another thing is down. The maintenance itself is very technical but there are parts that can be done by the unskilled as long as they have direction.

He hesitated a moment. "I'm not sure I'd be good with anything technical, but I guess it couldn't hurt to try." Not that he'd ever been a good student, but maybe things would be different here. It was, at least, a good distraction to stop his hands from shaking so much while he tended to wounds. "I've never been good at picking things up, unless it was related to music." Or maybe the difference had been how passionate he was about music.

"So you like music then?" He said as he had gone to grab some more bandages for the next person he was meant to see to. This one seemed like it was much easier to handle at least.

"You know did you think that music could help with moral here?"

"I love it. It's kind of my job." He paused for a moment, looking up. You know, he hadn't considered that, but now that he was...

"You think? But what am I supposed to do, just start singing?" He was sort of joking, but sort of not. He didn't know if he could juggle that kind of multi-tasking.

"I don't know. I mean probably have the right kind of song first, maybe." Because the wrong kind of song might not help with morale, but Yugi wasn't someone who knew a lot about music either or what would work.

"But I am sure the people here could use something nice."

[swansongs]

"Like...like something uplifting?" Or something comforting? Normally, this shouldn't be a problem for him, but with the stress, his mind went completely blank. Not that he was obligated to sing, but it had been a good idea. "I don't know if I can think of anything uplifting." Or anything, for that matter. Sometimes his brain was a useless traitor, and he had to pause for a moment to even remember what he was doing with bandaging.

"I think either one works. But music isn't my strong suit either" He just thought it would be a good idea or at least sounded it in his mind. But for a moment his focus went back to those they were meant to be treating or dealing with.
