Memory Cave
After the passengers see a glimpse of a life that is not their own they appear in a cave. It is light, a strange moss glowing on the walls and ceiling illuminates the cave nicely and it is large enough for them to pace around in without trouble.
They are not alone. In the cave with them is another voidtrecker. Maybe someone they know well, maybe someone they have only seen in the aisles of the train. But they are together in this cave together.
The cave has no exit, at least not yet. They know that it will, eventually. When the time is right.
But for that time to come, they first must talk...

"It was kind of like a turtle. He's a Mock Turtle. It's what they make mock turtle soup out of." It's hard to tell if she genuinely believes that or if it's a dry joke..
Alice doesn't seem too occupied with it though. Instead she lets out a breath of relief before pulling a nervous hand through her hair.
"Now I'm rather glad that you were the one who saw that. I think most people's opinion of me would lower after seeing what exactly happened at that train station." Her method of dealing with the man hadn't exactly been the most conventional, after all.
no subject
"Right, of course." he mutters, not even questioning her.
Her relief brings him some of his own, the demon is not one to judge, not really, he has no place to. Humans don't have the power that gods do, even if they like to play it from time to time. It seems the man at the train station in particular had such a hobby, and to him, Alice had done something admirable. It wasn't just revenge, her act prevented further children from being harmed... he had even told her he was waiting for another at that moment.
"Those people would be quite stupid," he replies, offering her a smile, "You are a very bright young girl. And I'm not just saying so to pacify you."
no subject
It's why she needs a quiet moment to try and process it before she finally says, "Don't worry, I know you're not the type."
Crowley hadn't seemed like the type to go out of his way to flatter or pacify someone without purpose or without meaning it, anyway.
"But that's why I.." She starts, then stops, visibly struggling if her facial expression is anything to go by. Alice sighs. "I must be sounding so ridiculous. All I want to say is that you are very kind, which is something I also usually don't say." Hence her struggle with it.
But Crowley deserves it. They're stuck in this dumb, ridiculous situation where both of their memories were exposed against their will, and yet he's still calling her a bright young girl.
"And you certainly don't deserve to be thrown from one apocalypse into another."
no subject
"Don't say that-" he starts, "Don't ever say that. People will start to get ideas about me." His voice remains fairly calm through it, all the same. Alice isn't some angel he feels like he has to raise his voice to, just a very misfortunate girl.
"I'm sure they won't be the last. I think it comes with the territory. I was here for the beginning, so I'll be here for the end. or ends. Whatever."
no subject
And no matter how tactless she may seem at times, Alice would always respect the wishes of people she likes. Like Crowley. So she momentarily - somewhat idly - moves a hand up to her lips, like she's preventing anything else from coming out before she's thoroughly considered the words.
"Can I at least think it?" She has no idea how far his concern goes when it comes to this, after all. "I'm afraid it would be rather difficult to change my opinion of you at this point."
Including the fact that he shouldn't have to face yet another apocalypse eventually - no matter how much of an inevitable it may be.
no subject
"Your thoughts are your own." he replies, almost lazily, stretching his arms as he looks about the cave, only now realizing there isn't an exit.
"Now that's annoying..." he mutters, "I'd really like to be relaxing in the hot springs right now..."
no subject
Thankfully Alice isn't really freaking out either though. It's an odd feeling, but it's like she somehow knows there will be an exit soon enough. Like waiting for an elevator that could appear at any moment now, to use a metaphor from beyond her time.
"You'll at least let me know if you happen to see anything else that could come from my memories while taking a hot springs soak later, right?"
no subject
"Of course." he scoffs, as if him doing anything on the contrary would be absurd. "We don't need to share these with anyone outside of this cave either, as far as I'm concerned."
no subject
She means that it sounds like a good idea to her, of course, but for Crowley she's willing to throw just that slight extra edge in of showing that his secrecy would mean quite a bit to her. Some people on the train seem to like her for some reason, and she'd rather not ruin that instantly.
She doesn't think Crowley's memories would do him much of a disservice though, but she'll keep them to herself all the same.
"I mean, we might as well, if whatever is causing us to see these memories gave us enough privacy by throwing us into this strange prison cave."
no subject
"Was that there?" he questions her, moving to stand and inspect it. "I suppose we should get going... I imagine I've left Aziraphale quite worried."
no subject
"Right." It actually raises quite some questions. How long have they been here? Did anyone notice they were gone? Did this happen to anyone else?
But those are questions that can wait for when they get out of there.
"Well, even if it ends up not being an exit, it certainly can't bring us somewhere worse, so.." Alice's voice trails off as she moves through it.
A moment later she finds herself back where she was before she suddenly got that flash of memory. She looks around, just in case, but.. no Crowley nearby.
.. How odd.
