SWIRLING CONSEQUENCES: ONGOING
QUICKSAND 11-13 ~ TEAM OBJECTIVES ~ LOCATION INFORMATION ~ OTHER DETAILS
COMMS ~ ASK QUESTIONS ~ SHENANIGANS ~ TEAM PLOTTING ~ MISSION TASKS/REWARDS
OVER THE YELLING HEIGHTS...
As they arrive at their destination, the Voidtreckers are quick to get to work into the various jobs that need them. The Blues have slowly but steadily been doing their best to fulfil all three of their tasks. They've worked to locate locals and to get them aid after being cut off, and have been searching for those from other worlds. A few helped with the dralite work, but took priority in helping people and leaving the dralites to others.
Orange have largely focused on collecting herbs, doing some work to help farmers relocate their animals, but only a few helped the dralite with their nests. At least there will be plenty of potions, teas, and craggy leaves to hand out, with the leaves sure to help the stressed out animals yet located.
For the Purples, they've been working well to clear the roads and ruined layouts of farms and villages to give better access around the Yelling Heights. A few have helped in escorting their fellow team members and the locals in getting around.
As for the Reds, they did what they do best: going on the offensive. They've been working to get rid of the voidblobs, but don't have much interest in setting up safe perimeters. A few voidtears, however, have been located, and hopefully that will help everyone push forward in the next few days of the mission.
Overall, the farmers are thankful for the help so far, and a good decent have been assisted. They will help Voidtreckers as they need it, and have tools on hand that can be borrowed. They will be willing to assist with the voidtears, if only able to push back any voidblobs, or to make sure Voidtreckers get back somewhere safe afterwards.
↪ Prompt: There's a farm not too far from the Weary Wanderer that Albany asks for people to go to - some earmuffs can be taken along to help with the sound, along with earplugs. The reason becomes clear as soon as Voidtreckers approach it, where dralites can be circling around it. A woman greets whoever comes - "Thank ya for coming out here, I know you're working hard" - and leads them to the cause.
There's a ditch where trees have fallen, their farm bordering the forest. The cries of younger dralites can be heard, but the adults are squabbling amongst one another, and people who try to approach the fallen wreckage can thwapped at by the adults.
What will be the best course of action? To bruteforce the paralsying wails and peckings and to get at the trunks? Or to pacify these disagreeable winged things? Voidtreckers can also come here and find a displaced person or two taking shelter. (B2, B3)
↪ Prompt:"We're gonna need all the hands we can get. Can some of your folks come with us 'round Ciyesia? We're having trouble to getting to some of ours in a tricky part, and the animals that way - oh, they're nasty."
There's a trail - or most of a trail - that goes around the side of the Ciyesia mountain, leading over to a smaller collection of hills. While good work has been done on clearing up, around this area there's still a fine slide of rubble that's scattered over the walking paths. Those with sturdy arms are necessary to clear the wreckage, but also to deal with the voidblobs, great chinchillas, and even the dralites in this area, with the latter preferred to be pushed back to the forest. The farmers coming with the Voidtreckers will help to round the animals, but they'll need help dealing with the trouble along the way.
Doing this will help them gain access to a few farms, grateful to find visitors, though their families will be around, trying to deal with trouble. Find them on the road, with animals or in a troubling situation with a voidblob, and do what you can to help. (P1, B1, R1/R3, O2)
It is advised stronger Voidtreckers deal with these - coming in with little experience or just a blade will be dangerous.
↪ Prompt: "We're seein' some of those big boys out around the fields. I'm telling ya, they're fast bastards. Think you can help us get rid of 'em? Anything you need, we've got your backs."
The locals of these lands are doing their best to help the Voidtreckers, as well as each other. Getting word out to the farther communities is hard, but they have set up a system - flags. Flags made out of any bedsheet that can be found, then put up on wooden logs. They're a call for help, being used especially if they spot voidblobs. It's a desperate attempt at communication, but the voidblobs are troublesome - and more so their larger variant. No fence or barricade works to keep them back, and the best the farmers can do is hope they won't come towards their homes when they roll into their lands. It's also worse if there happens to be a voidtear nearby...(R1, R3)
Sending people home will require the same anchoring technique used during Jinnjar, Diagad, and similar to the recent events. It only takes one Voidtrecker to return someone to their world, hand in hand they will cross a metaphysical void river, seeing flashes of the visitor's world and life. And Voidtreckers will be just as exhausted as they were getting their own returned to the train... Probably best to share this burden out between as many who are willing.
↪ Prompt: Some displaced people have found their way out of the woods, found around the escorts for those keeping check, or even making their way to Albany's inn or a nearby farm. The locals themselves can't help send them home, but they're used to helping outsiders, warming them up and getting them fed. Some will accept help easily, but others are less keen on approaching unknown houses. (B2)
OOC NOTES
Notes: A conclusion post will go up on the 26th. Feel free to put toplevels put up at the end of the start log here! Or to re-use portions and to put up fresh posts here. Or to just link them here, have a blast.
Here is a TL;DR of the above tasks: Dralites are everywhere, more aggressive and hostile; farm animals are more scattered and harder to reach, being attacked by chinchillas and voidblobs around scrublands; displaced people need to be found and sent home, and voidblobs now have a larger variant; the voidtears are becoming easier to find, but the effects of the storms are worsening, closing them will be a priority.
Please have your tasks submitted by the 25th to help determine the conclusion of the mission! We will start to count mission rewards around this time too.

Senku Ishigami | Orange Team
[ Senku's return from visiting people who were displaced by inaccessible roads does not lead to an easier time. The farmers are pleading for help.
He's not sure he's that great at animal rearing, and he's certainly not a veterinarian but he's not the kind of person who can ignore the pleas of someone in need. Although clearly, he must just want to go for a walk.
So, find any surviving animals and bring them home. He could do that, possibly, although he's not terribly strong. He probably needs a hand. Whether he's found wandering off on his own, or trying to negotiate with livestock to come with him, Senku's likely in a bit of a pickle. ]
Dralites, Dralites Everywhere - Quicksand 12
[ He hasn't really realized just how close the dralites have gotten to the people around them until he hears it, that piercing screech that sends him stumbling into the nearest building. ]
Fuck me!
[ He covers his ears as it screeches again for attention and he manages to stay on his feet that way, although he feels somewhat lightheaded. When he thinks the creature is finished, he whips his pack around and pulls out the trusty earplugs before shoving them into his ears.
Okay, two problems. One, they have to move that creature so it didn't keep screaming at people and for another...apparently there were still babies to find out there. ]
The Lost Dralites - Quicksand 13
[ By this time, although they haven't all been located yet or secured into a safe place, the odds of finding living dralites is getting dimmer by the moment. Coming upon a nest could lead to optimism or heartache.
Senku crouches down to look in what was once a more pristine nest, but the dralite that remains is completely still.
He frowns, that's unpleasant, but from what he's heard the parents still want the body back. The news is likely more grim this day. ]
Wildcard
[ Senku will be spending a lot more time dealing with dralite issues partly because they're that aggressive and demanding at the moment, but grab him for anything. ]
dralites, dralites everywhere
[ Can he be heard over the noise of the dralites? Can he hear himself over the noise of the dralites? There's two hands over Tidus's ears, hurrying once the coast seems to be clear to put his earbuds in. For music? Yeah, sure, but they still work good enough, okay. ]
They're out this far?? There's gotta be something we can do to get rid of them.

.. having some trouble, Senku? [ Inigo speaks up, deciding he might as well help out here for a moment. Especially since Senku probably wouldn't be in the best position ever to deal with some sort of danger by himself if it'd head in the direction of him and the sheep. Yondu Udonta | Blue Team but general tasks
He's pretty sure the ones that could do it the most quickly have their hands full of trans-dimensional jelly monsters right now.
The storms are going to get bad, and the aggressive animals are worse. He's in a foul mood as he ties off some temporary fencing with rope, his ears still ringing from the last time one of the dralites did its level best to rattle his brain clean out of his skull. He's pretty sure he felt that right through the wires of his fin. But now that they've been run off (for the time being) the civilians can come out of hiding and they can do a quick job of this fencing. Maybe if he's super lucky he can shout out to someone that can magic up or superpower some materials.
At least maybe more people to murder the giant rats (chinchillas) or run off the Dralites would help.
They can't effectively manage the other tasks with the these big aggression issues going on, so here Yondu is trying to find and rescue some of these damn chicks, or what's left of them, which he should have figured wouldn't be as easy as he suspected because babies are made to be hidden.
He's lucky that he has a weapon that he doesn't need hands for, but that doesn't make it easy when he's finally got his arms full of cantankerous birdchild and a fluffdemon comes along to be a very hungry inconvenience. "Ah, come on. The hell you gotta make my life hard for?" And the frightened chick? Already squalling bloody murder.
Fence Mending
He's happy to help out Yondu as part payment for the help the other man had given him on the first night, helping to move heavier items others cannot and of course killing or driving off anything that gets in their way.
Right now he's taking his own mini break as he keeps an eye out, chewing on something that may had one point been one of those chinchillas that had been attacking them at one point... but at least it's cooked and looks like food. He's learned many really don't like the idea of just eating anything that was one living if it doesn't look like food... whatever that means. It's dead, it's food, that's good enough for Vegeta, as he is aware to not go through too much of the VoidTreckers supplies. That first night really drove his hunger into overdrive...
He'll help out again once he's done, but for now he's floating 'seated' cross-legged high enough to keep an eye on everything, but within speaking range of Yondu as well, since he enjoys the company.

Elidibus | Red Team (with Red, Purple, Any goals)
Most of Elidibus's aims won't be much different during Quicksand 11-13, but where he's helping to protect/train/establish perimeters will start moving toward the cut-off and far flung communities and he will be doing less search and rescue as there are others able to work on that; he'll be more interested in tracking down voidtears. I've adjusted the prompts below to affect this though much will remain the same. Will be dating efforts based on tag subject date (Quicksand 7-10 / 11-13) or actual tag start date (March 13-20/21-26), whatever makes sense. Let me know if you have a preference!]
Quicksand 7-10 TL Here
Most people might look at Elidibus and think he's fully recovered. Outwardly he's fit. The near terminal seeming exhaustion had melted away by Platform Day and he'd been seen in the training room regularly before the start of the mission. Internally he is still operating at a diminished capacity; obvious to anyone who saw him before the events of the prior month and could sense the well of potential he'd had then compared to currently. It's slowly trickling back, but it'll take some time. Some who know Ascians might suspect he could take advantage of the world they're about to go aid and it would be perfectly reasonable to harbor such suspicions.
Elidibus won't be; other than what the world might naturally impart of its aether he has no intention of bringing further harm to it, even if one were to set aside the destablizing nature of voidstorms and the other very practical reasons why this would be a bad idea. Why? Well that's certainly a question and one the Ascian won't go out of his way to share.
Suffice to say at any preliminary gathering, after collecting the supplies, Elidibus professes his intention of focusing his efforts on the Lowland farm regions, for the sake of making sure the fields and future harvest are guarded as much as they can be. After all once the Voidtreckers leave, life will need to continue on and they would do better for it if their food supply was intact.
Quicksand 11-13
Elidibus has been pacing himself well. While he moves around a little too often to be found at the Weary Wanderer, he did stop by at least once to deliver the tracking concept crystals so they can be picked up by those doing search and rescue of beings pulled through the void. Also he can be easily reached on comms.
I. Perimeter Guard and Defense Construction - (Red)
Most of the time, Elidibus is fighting off threats to those working on the actual strengthening of perimeter defenses. Scaring off the chinchillas and goats, killing the voidblobs and making sure they're no longer a threat. Possibly with fire but definitely with whatever has been found to be a safe disposal method.
But there'll be times he puts in labor on the defenses themselves or finding advice to give to the natives about their tactics or patrol schedule. With the establishment of the Transgates he moves around a little more, attempting to organize other Voidtreckers and natives into a more concerted effort in building and repairing defenses. Particularly with the increase in storm intensity and the size of the voidblobs, it's become imperative to have something for even the Teams to fall back behind for safety.
Elidibus may be found in the fields still or at a far-flung village that's suffered heavily from being cut off by landslides, voidblobs and wild animals. If approached for a task he'll ask a simple query.
"What skills do you have?"
II. Bigger, Badder Voidblobs - Lowland Farms/ Lowland Region (Red/Purple)
The last time Elidibus took to the field with more than a couple people around, it was the battle with the birds. And with a sword and shield. But he's been able to commission an axe from Q'uila some months ago. And this particular vessel he's using, even if it was train made, still has the build and muscle memory of a warrior.
For the Ascian, who is closer to mortals than he has ever been before, every advantage should be taken.
The style is designed to present a strong vanguard to shield others, wide and generous attacks to draw the focus of the beasts. Elidibus won't chase what is driven away though he has no problem striking down what remains stubborn. There's a lot he can do with weapon and aether alone, but he still has few pieces of armor. Things he might have borrowed or scrounged; the bottom line is no matter how skilled, he definitely needs support when the numbers grow large.
Like one leaping at his back while engaged in a wide sweeping arc toward three in the front; the Ascian will begin to turn around to try and counter, but he's a few moments too late.
III. Voidtears - (Any)
Elidibus will be looking for Voidtreckers to aid in closing one of the voidtears- whether one found early on and guarded or one recently found doesn't matter; it's imperative to get these closed before they become worse. Its size is.... alarming and worse is the storm raging around it.
"Remember to concentrate on closing the tear," Elidibus advises. His voice rings clearly over the storm's furor. "Not the song that calls to you. If you feel the effects of sickness, don't hesitate to take a break. Some of you must watch for these signs in those focused on closing the rift."
He would be among the first to focus their energies; in this case it won't be a matter of letting others do the work while he observes. Elidibus seems to be wholly invested in helping to save this world from the effects of the void storms.
IV. Wildcard Lowland Region (Any)
[OOC: Have another idea? Corner him for a chat or catch him on the road? Voidtears also a possibility. One might even find him at the Inn for conversation before going back to his duties. HMU, either contacting me about a prompt or pointing me at your own TL!]
Bruno Madrigal - Encanto- Blue team doing Orange things
It wasn't raining as hard as it had been, but that didn't mean that Bruno wasn't grateful for his blue rain gear. The weather was worrying, but he had more immediate concerns. Like keeping the dralite eggs he'd been collecting reasonably warm and dry. They were significantly easier to handle than the chicks, but also heavier and more easily damaged.
Currently, he had two of them tucked up inside his hoodie, held against his chest in an attempt to warm them as he carried them to the sheltered spot where he'd been collecting them. The positioning may have garnered him a few confused glances before he explained, but if it worked, it worked. Hopefully, it would be easier to look after them or distribute them back to safer nests if they were in a single location. He just hoped they all hatched safely after all this...
Animal Wrangling- Orange
Bruno was no Luisa, able to effortlessly gather up multiple donkeys. But a little lost lamb and his mother? That he could certainly handle. Well at least the lamb, in terms of carrying them. The ewe followed along behind him, unwilling to let her little one out of her sight.
When he heard the bleating of another lamb nearby, though, he followed the sound to the edge of a ravine. The poor little thing was at the bottom, and while it didn't look hurt, it also didn't look like it could get back out on its own. And its bleating was bound to attract predators eventually. The problem was, climbing down there to rescue it would mean leaving the lamb and ewe he'd already found unattended and similarly vulnerable, and also risked them running off if something spooked them. He could sure use a hand right then...
Patching a crack- All
He'd been told this voidtear was small. It certainly didn't look small to him, but he'd been assured that two people would be able to handle it. If patching the cracks in the Casita had been scary, this was downright terrifying. But it needed to be done.
And Bruno? Bruno needed to do it. He couldn't let the others shoulder all the danger, not when they'd been so kind to him. He couldn't be his usual cowardly self. The people here had called him a 'Void hero'; he needed to live up to that. He just really wished he had some salt on him. Or that there was some wood near enough to knock on.
As it was though, he could only take a deep breath and quickly cross himself before pulling his hood down a bit further. If there was ever a time to bring out 'Hernando' it was now, and when he spoke, it was in Hernando's dramatic voice. "Well then," he said to the person with him, "let's get to this voidtear!"
patching a crack
Tidus has heard Bruno's voice before - heck, he heard it not that long aog! But when he hears that deeper tone... did he hear him right? But it's not worth getting distracted by. Right, the voidtear.
"Right!" Tidus brings up his SCA, sees the anchoring symbol on it. The choral singing was like a wailing this close under it, a dying song to the ears. "Just remember where you are! If you see anything there, faces you know - it's not them! Look at me if you need to!"
Tidus doesn't know if he's being overly cautious, but it's better to be. This isn't his first time getting close to the void - and he doesn't want Bruno to get enticed by family or friends, being so new as he is.

Hunk - Voltron
He's been out finding chicks and returning them, or joining others in their efforts. He probably, for the moment, doesn't look like the type of guy that could provide adequate protection, and he certainly has his bumbling moments. He's even been trying to make casual conversation about the mission and the culture of the place as they walk.
They're interupted by a huge voidblob that rolls into their path. It's then that Hunk pulls out the disc he's carried around since the beginning of the mission (his bayard) from the back of his belt and it forms into a massive energy gun about as long as he is tall. "Get behind me!"
He doesn't have his armor but he's faced worse with less.
That said, that was always a monster or a psychic influence. A rip in space time or... or whatever the void is? That's a little intimidating.
He gulps hard as he looks at tear, trying to swallow swelling apprehension, following it with a deep breath and sigh. "Okay... Okay... I got this... sort of. Who am I kidding? I have no idea how to do this."
Siren song
To say nothing of void tears.
She's keeping an eye out for both when she sees the other Red member, not exactly rushing forward, but making sure her steps are quick.
"You need an anchor!" She called out, inwardly bracing herself for the headache that would soon follow.

Ryou Bakura | Blue | OTA
[Ryou has started to diversify on what he's doing to help, mainly by looking for more lost dralite chicks. He's found one, alive but weak, and is now piggybacking it around in search of the parent.]
I've got you, okay? [The dralite just shrieks, and while that shriek isn't as strong as it could be, Ryou's still grateful for the earmuffs he's got on.]
2. Send them Home
[The displaced people also need sending home, so eventually Ryou decides to try and help with that.]
It's just like when the tran tried to send us home, right? [This time he knows what to expect from doing it, right down to the exhaustion that will follow.]
Send them home
[Pretty much the reason being he felt like someone needed to be able to not be exhausted after and take care of those who were.]
I know people did it the last time at least, so you know what you are doing, right?

"If you do no be being quiet I will be making you be riding hedgehog instead."
Do Dralites understand threats? Hopefully because she is very serious. If this stupid creatures screeches once more...
She took a deep breath. She hadn't even meant to pick one up. She had chased a smaller voidblob into the forest and when it was dead this creature had rushed her and... Now lived on her head.
Whose job was escorting these stupid creatures? Blue? Orange? She looks for any in those colour hoodies. "You be taking it."
Voidblob
"I do be needing some people. I did be finding a huge blob."
If she's learned anything on her time on the train it's that she can't actually take on huge monsters on her own so there's a soaking wet child, water dripping onto the floor of the inn as she clamber up onto a bench to make her annoucement.
"It do be being as big as a house." She looked around, for anyone who looked strong enough to fight.
Closing Voidtears.
Fighting was one thing but these void tears were much more difficult to deal with. Still she tried, since it was a task of ted team.
The rain is heavy and the song of the void is making her head spin but she sat on the sodden ground, in the emptiness, banishing all feelings about the subject to the outside.
Energy, sewing the world shut. As if that was normal. She's been at it a little while but she's determined to keep going, she's not weak. She doesn't need rest.
Voidblob
"It's what? Where?" Peter's hopping up from where he may or may not have been drinking lemonade and is ready for action. He's been kinda off doing other purple team things but he can't really ignore a giant monster.

Thankfully, she doesn't need that, either. Her situational awareness is, back home, legendary. Sneaking up on Amaya is a very, very quick way to discover whether or not the afterlife is as you pictured it, frankly - and so the motion out of the corner of her eye is more than enough.
The dralite comes in low, bearing straight for her. And from the left - oh, good.
She waits until the last possible moment and then her shield arm whips up, becoming a sudden and very solid barrier for the dralite to bounce clean off of, fluttering to the ground, unconscious. She plants the sharp bottom edges of the shield in the ground, crouching over it. She hasn't tried to kill it, after all, but what to do with it...

Wash | Purple Team | All escort mission all the time
You might find him herding a pair of goats - not the jackass horned ones, but actual missing-from-a-farm goats - and talking to them. "I swear to god, if you chew on my hoodie one more time I'm making a hamburger out of you. I haven't had a good burger in weeks, and I'm not above seeing how goat tastes." From the other side of the goats - because she's helping! - Athena meows in agreement. Save some for her!
Or maybe you see him in the forest, following the glowing yellow path Yondu had created among the trees, keeping an eye on the crystal borrowed from Elidibus. It's not glowing yet, which is a good thing - no voidblobs - and a bad thing - no displaced people either. He looks up at you. "See anything interesting around here?" People, dralites, other assorted animals - everything needs to be taken care of, if they come across it.
Or he finds you - you look like you're heading someplace, or possibly back from fighting a voidblob or closing a voidtear, and he's not about to let you head off on your own. "Hey. Need a hand?"

He dralite seems to like the creature though and was clinging. Clings further with a small squawk when it sees the cat creature and the man.
Taiki tilted his head at the pair, he doesn't know the man but he is dressed like someone from the train and the large cat seems comfortable around him, which is always a good sign.

Faux (CLU) | Red Team (mostly)
Patrolling around the town, perimeters and other areas has so far borne mixed results. Not only does he stick out in the literal dark, so anyone or anything can spot him, swarms of gridbug-like things are attracted to his glowing circuit lines and keep buzzing around and on him.
The bugs are more of an annoyance rather than an outright issue. The constant presence of them touching him though is… deeply unsettling. Like now. Slap! Wiping another particularly large one off his arm circuit. “Gross!” he mutters into the night.
Sticking out like a literal flashlight, well, not so much.
Just like the bugs, Faux has seemingly attracted the attention of something further up in the dark. And with his good night vision, he sees it’s a void blob, a big one.
And it’s coming straight towards him. “Uh-oh.”
2. Not a Lamppost
When Faux finally does settle down for a break, he wouldn’t be found inside. Too hot for his tastes. Preferring the outdoors, he settles down in the dark, watching the alien night sky filled with glittering lights between the clouds, unlike his home. It’s both pretty and awe inspiring.
It also leads to other less desirable thoughts, enough that a frown can be found on him if someone looks hard enough his way.
Someone approaches, and he doesn’t know who it is. This doesn’t stop Faux from throwing some words towards them with a tired sigh, “If this is a joke about how I can pass off as a lamp-post, best you move along.” Having no mood for such things right now. Rudeness be damned.
3. Skyward Solutions
Some of his other crew mates had been attempting to plot and investigate these void storms by foot. He has decided to use a more efficient method. With a perfect opportunity to test out his lightjet for the first time in a user world, he reasoned ‘why not’, he could get it done faster meaning more time spent finding the tears inside them.
He can scout, scout he does.
Four suspicious storms marked off now onto the map so far. That’s enough for now within a reasonable vicinity.
Now, it’s void tear tracking time.
And here he’s getting a little too ambitious. Having dismounted his lightjet now, he’s restocking on necessary first aid supplies. Notably Ethers.
Because he thinks it will be a great idea to go and search out one of the storms for a tear… on his own. What could go wrong?
Another bottle vanishes into one of his ‘pockets’. And he’s heading out the door, about to unveil his lightjet again and jump back into action.

Edge | FFIV
Arms crossed, Edge stared ahead at the voidtear, in all its rampant unsubtle quasihorror. He was not afraid, and no one ought to dare say he was! He just was waiting for some assistance since these things couldn't be closed alone.
"I'm not one to dismiss the value of working together with friends and allies," he said out loud, "but this could be a lot more convenient."

And if to solidify (or liquify) Tidus's point, a small void blob can be seen dropping from the tear, smashing down on some jagged stone over a distance. Even with that large fallen, it's still wiggling with activity.

Zetta | Makai Kingdom
The battered old pickup truck can't approach with anything close to normal volume, let alone quietly -- between the roar of its engine, the growl of its damaged muffler, and the bang of metal on metal as it took bumps at inappropriate speed, it resembled an invasion more than a personal vehicle. And for a moment, it didn't look like it was going to stop...
But the brakes squeezed tight suddenly, and the truck veered to one side, drifting sideways as its tired cut furrows into the ground. The moment it screeched to the stop, the driver-side window rolled down, revealing the smirk of the Overlord as he cocked one elbow out of the window.
"Get in, loser! We're going hunting!"
Blobs!
The voidblob surged forward, slowly and ominously, as the line of minions faced it down. Swords and axes and staffs raised, they spoke not a word, nor wavered not an inch -- except for one Prinny, who was going on about how the line must be drawn here! this far and no farther! It was all very dramatic but probably would have sounded better spoken in a British accent, and with far fewer 'doods' peppered throughout.
Zetta, sitting on the hood of his truck not far away, sighed. "I told them to attack, and this is how they took it. You think anything's gonna actually happen, or should we go grab lunch?"
Blobs!
"I think this is a waste of time if you actually want to achieve anything." Vegeta answered bluntly. "Is this what you qualify as hunting?"

Ryo | Orange Team
(The more things change, the more they stay the same.)
Are you heading out to help dralites or other people? He catches you before you go, pressing potions in bottles and salves in jars in your hands, or leaves in a small bag. "Here. Take these with you - they should help."
Or maybe you've come back in - from anchoring a wayward soul back to their home, or repairing a voidtear, or throwing down with a kaiju voidbeast. The worse or more exhausted you look, the quicker he'll be at your side, with food or a potion in hand. "You look tired - let me help."
Sometimes - infrequently, but sometimes - you'll see him resting at a table, either dozing lightly in his chair or getting a meal in between helping his teammates. It's impossible to miss the two stuffed animals on the table next to him - namely, that the bowl sized plush spider is moving, and that it's definitely bringing a small knife to the equally sized plush bird. Ryo doesn't notice, or he knows and isn't paying attention - either way, he's not looking at them.

Lea- Blue Team doing Blue and Red things
This particular Voidblob was- as advertised- fast. Especially for something that had no actual stable legs. But fortunately, Lea was also fast and could hit from a distance with chakrams and fire if need be.
At the moment though he was wailing on it with his Keyblade. "What I wouldn't give for this thing to have an HP bar," he said to any of his fellow fighters nearby enough to hear. "At least then we could tell if we were making progress!" They almost certainly were, but since the Voidblobs didn't react to injury or damage like a normal lifeform would...
Screeching and shelter- Blue
Lea had actually come out there following his crystal tracker in hopes of finding a displaced person or two. But since the two people in question seemed to be well in hand for the moment, his attention was drawn more toward the shrieking dralites. "Great...", he said sarcastically. "How are we gonna handle this? Can't just drive them off like we've been doing with the predators; not with their babies down there."
Void Hero sandwiches- All
While Lea had been too busy to do any cooking on this mission, that didn't mean he couldn't help with distributing meals to his fellow Voidtreckers. And with him getting the hang of using Keyblade portals by now, even those in more remote areas might find Lea strolling up to them in a moment of downtime with a pack of wrapped sandwiches, a sealed container of Albany's stew, and possibly a thermos of hot tea or coffee, all still nice and fresh. "Special delivery," he said to the latest person, giving them a somewhat tired smile and holding up the basket containing the food. "Fresh from the Weary Wanderer by way of another weary wanderer."
A! aka hello again! Need some help? Hope you don't mind me throwing some purple into your red?
He was purple. His objective was to hunt down any trouble occurring and protect others where he could. It sounded simple enough. Even if he weren't entirely aware of what it was he would be facing.
He was traveling through the mountain, off the beaten trail, when he heard the struggle of an ongoing battle—peaking through the bushes to find a familiar face going head-on against a rather large voidblob.
Wasn't that the guy he ran into on the platform? The mopey one he thought he heard sulking.
Well, no better way to get things done than to step in for the struggling guy.
He wasn't traditionally armed as he otherwise would have been. But hell, Sanzo's make due.
Looking around his surroundings, he was grateful when he found a moderately large rock, a little bigger than his palm. Stepping out from his hiding spot in the brush to make himself known.
This move probably made him look stupid as shit. Practically inept to the fancy moves Lea was pulling off. But all he needed was to catch the creature's attention. Just make an opening for the one carrying the giant fucking key.
And hell, if the asshole had failed on that means he did have one secret move of his own.
"Oy! Ugly! Why fight for your meal when you've got fresh meat over here!" He knew the creature probably couldn't understand him. But right now, he was playing distraction. His goal was to make noise. Tossing his rock up and down a few times before winding up to hit it right into the side of the creature's veiny grotesque head. His eyes immediately turned to look directly towards Lea. Hoping that his more than stern expression was enough to communicate that he wasn't being an absolute idiot in doing this.
Don't mind at all!
(no subject)
Gonna have them go one more round before the blob dies, if that works for you. :3
gladly! Keep going Lea! Be the badass! Take down that baddie!
Leia Organa - Blue team
With relief efforts mostly able to proceed without her now, Leia was free to offer aid in other areas. Like, in this case, the squabbling dralites who were unintentionally sabotaging the efforts by both the people and each other to rescue their trapped chicks. "I may be able to calm the adults a bit," she said to those with her, "but I'd need someone else to go down and retrieve the chicks. Or I can try to retrieve the chicks while you distract the adults. Which would you prefer?"
Experienced Anchorwoman- All
"Well, so much for this mission not being as tiring as the last," Leia said as she and a few others prepared to take a shift at anchoring. "Though I suppose there's no help for it. Hopefully we won't be down for quite as long this time, at least." She wondered if it were possible to build up a tolerance to the exhaustion anchoring produced if one did it repeatedly? Probably best not to find out.
Or perhaps it was after her anchoring shift, where she can be found sitting by the fire in the Weary Wanderer, rather weary herself and slowly recovering over a bowl od stew and a cup of tea. She offered a tired smile to those who approached her though. "How are things going?", she asked. "I've been a bit too preoccupied to keep up with the comms chatter."
Rezo Greywords | Red Team
Rezo woke early to a distant, ear-piercing dralite shriek and the rumbles of thunder, a very efficient notification that the situation with the dralites and the voidstorms has gotten more severe. After hurrying through a light breakfast and pulling a raincoat on he’d left behind the farmstead where he’d camped out and headed into the breach.
A little while later and you can find him out in a field under the pouring rain, chasing after an agile dralite chick. It’s frankly a ridiculous sight: There’s cotton in his ears so he can somewhat ignore its squawking, and he’s nearly bent over double because of how much smaller it is than him. His hands are lit up with white magic, with the plan being that if it gets in range the magic will make it docile, but it is sliding through the wet grass and efficiently avoiding his grasp. Help him, maybe?
Rezo’s chosen to focus more on patrolling than actually building fencing and such; he can handle a hammer and nails well enough, but he’s slower with them than ideal so it’s more efficient to have him on patrol. This efficiency is best demonstrated when a voidblob appears on the horizon.
He points his staff and:
“Ra Tilt.”
The voidblob collapses, its momentum allowing it to flow over itself for several feet until it finally comes to a stop, forming a gelatinous puddle of body parts. A blue fire has engulfed its entire body, although that fire is slowly burning out rather than spreading. Maybe you’ll want to help smother the flames, or just gawp.
By Quicksand 12, Rezo has gotten wind of complaints from the scrublands, so his plan is to transgate over there later that day; but first, he’s spending some time going over the perimeters from yesterday, to make sure nothing’s changed overnight. The walls still seem to be holding, which is keeping the goats and chinchillas at bay. Alas, the same cannot be said for the dralites, which are leaping and gliding over the wall, fueled by righteous fury.
Rezo is doing his best to shoo them off before their cries can floor him, as the earplugs he’s been blocking his ears with has definitely seen better days by this point. When someone else appears- based on the way the dralites chatter and snap and run around him- Rezo turns to them and speaks in a loud, exasperated voice:
“Please tell me you have their children in hand.”
Rezo has found one of the mountain farms that was isolated by the landslides. Unfortunately, he found it at about the same time as a voidblob did, an enormous mishmash of yak, ram, crocodile, and Gods knows what else.
His first action is to cast a hasty Vu Vraimer, forming a golem out of the nearby rubble, and sending it to intercept the voidblob. The voidblob tears through it in seconds, but it does buy a bit more time for the farmers to get away while Rezo grabs its attention with a fireball.
He’s planning to cast another spell when it turns towards him but his knees buckle as a sudden wave of dizziness hits him. He hastily raises his staff as the voidblob is upon him, and casts.
“Windy Shield!”
The Red Priest is now kneeling on the ground, surrounded by a circular barrier of wind that the voidblob is furiously slamming itself against, its many horns gouging chunks out of the surrounding earth. Rezo himself isn’t being hurt, but he can’t drop the shield to attack while the voidblob is on top of him.
(Closed to Lioriley- see below.)
By the end of a long morning Rezo has found his way to another voidstorm, a riot of distressed animals and monsters scrabbling under the wind. Rezo forays in and for several minutes he’s had his hands full fending off voidblobs, throwing up shields, and tossing healing spells at any injured parties he finds. He’s more or less on autopilot, strafing the edge of the battlefield, casting a spell, moving, casting-
-Then he wakes up and it takes a few moments for his situation to filter back in; the cold, wet ground underneath him, the ringing in his ears almost drowning out the eerie singing in the air. How the hell did he get there?
(The other voidtreckers will have seen him one second, just flinging about spells with an expression of intense focus, and then abruptly collapsing to the ground like a puppet whose strings have been cut. He’s only fully blacked out for about ten seconds, but since his eyes remain shut regardless it may be hard for an outside observer to tell when he starts coming to.)
Morning Q13 - Scrublands (closed to Lioriley)
Rezo had healed the injured man, but after casting the spell his nose had started bleeding and stubbornly refused to stop, even after he’d hit himself with a recovery spell. And the headache he’s been incubating since last night has gotten worse. This, on top of the fact that sending these people home involved… A certain kind of magic he was reluctant to try.
So. In the end he’d called up Lioriley for assistance, and now he’s simply waiting for her.
Rezo is standing very still, with his head tilted back. He’s focusing mainly on keeping his breathing even, in the hopes that it will help with the spikes of pain shooting through the back of his head. The copper scent and taste of blood is thick in his mouth and not helping with the nausea.
Sitting in a makeshift shelter behind him is a pair of people, a teenage girl with hair falling in her face, and an older man with a cracked pair of glasses. The two of them look rather nervous about the whole situation.

Danny Fenton
Danny being Danny, he only puts a minimum amount of effort into finding a partner before heading off the the nearest void tear. He would probably be okay doing it on his own, and it kind of sounded like they didn't have much time to waste..
Closing Tears:
"Right then," Danny says aloud. "Time to get to work."
And he slams his hand down on his anchor button as he starts to offer up his energy. At least energy was one thing he had to spare.
