EVENT: Into the Unknown

"Good morning Voidtreckers and passengers of the voidtrecker Express. Today is day twenty two of the month of Symphony. As you are aware we have some guests on board and our next task is to deliver them safely to the void hub. The tethering kits can only keep them tethered to this craft for a short space of time. We will be arriving at the void hub tomorrow."

Until now the scientists have kept themselves to themselves, remaining in their room and rarely exiting out. However after this announcement they emerge more and more, interested in asking about the void hub, the ministry workers and what they might expect from the situaion.

The next morning, just before lunch, the train makes another announcement.

"Approaching Voidbase now. Prepare for docking."

There is no shaking, not leaving the void: instead those who risk looking out of the windows will see a large structure ahead of them. The void turns to metal around them as they enter the structure, and for a moment, there is nothing outside the train but darkness.

"Welcome Voidtreckers." A voice speaks over the ICPs. Not the voice of the train, this is a male voice, sentient. "The filtration process takes a few moments, so please be patient. Meanwhile, I am sending some information about our void base over to your SCA's."

They will receive a small pamphlet on their SCA's explaining about the void base, this is the same pamphlet as last time but will be useful reading for those who are new, or those who didn't pay attention the last month. It explains that the base was set up as a research base and has been expanded to provide living quarters for some of those rescued from system #78961112094711. It explains that they had made the decision to invite the voidtreckers there to further unravel the mystery surrounding them. They would be quartered in ministry sleeping areas, and have free access to the ministry part of the base. Anyone who wished to visit the citizens of system #78961112094711 could do with good reason.

It's not too long before the filtration process is completed, and the doors of the Voidtrecker Express open. This time they are greeted just by the scientists who welcome them back.

SETTLING IN

They are shown to their sleeping quarters first. They are in small suites, which match their room assignments on the train. They will be given time to unpack and rest, and told that their SCA's have been programmed to allow them access to the general ministry parts of the base.

Their time here is their own, And though the ministry hopes that they will help out with the various experiments and research programs they have going on, they do not need to. If they wish to take the time to rest and enjoy the amenities, they can.

1. MULTIMEDIA. There are a few types of lounging rooms, chairs and cushions, tables for sitting at. Slim televisions sitting on walls, a few tables - that can be lowered or raised - joined with screens that can be more privately watched. Shows and movies are available in some rooms, gaming equipment in others. There is also a more quiet room for lounging in, with access to e-books and screen readers for them, audio options also available.

Relax, or get into a multiplayer game -- games that break friendships are available in the void.

2. FITNESS AND SWIM. For those looking for more activity in their 'rest', there's the fitness gym and swimming pool. In separate rooms but nearby, the fitness gym is larger than the train's gym, and more well-equipped. Muscle training, speed; there will be a Ministry worker to show how to use the variety of equipment, so that nobody has an accident.

The same will be for the swimming pool, with a shallow and deep end. Balls, floating pads and more can be grabbed. It's a swimming pool - what's not to love?

3. TRAINING. Beside the pool and fitness gym is the combat gym, where they will find small groups already exercising in a variety of fighting styles. Voidtreckers will be left alone to train if they wish, but any who take interest in partners will be allowed to join in with the ministry training. Magic, energy, weaponry; some of them use special batons, Ministry-issued, and the Ministry workers will show how to use them. If a Voidtrecker becomes well-trained in how to use one by the end of their stay, they can be given one to use on void missions.

The Ministry fighters will also introduce them to a special training tool, the hard- and holographic courses and 'dummies'. Quite a few fighting styles can be set to a holographic opponent, or even one made to mimic a voidtrecker after fighting them - they're surprisingly quick to adapt. The hard-light partner can listen and read sign-language, and will change on command. Want them to move faster, focus on attack, dodging? Now they will.

4. GREEN THUMBS, OPEN AIR. The last room in the relaxation area is a curious one, reading simply 'GARDENS AND SIMULATION' on its front. Opening it will lead to a simple and long corridor, five more doors on each side. Four devoted to gardening, labelled Hydroponics, Hot Houses, Ice Houses, and Land. Entering, each space will be larger than should be possible. But it is, with each an indoor type growing space except for land, which mimics a farming field. There's a sky above, a wind in the air; sometimes, it might be raining when you enter.

It might be a shocking experience for some, the first time round.

The last six rooms simulation rooms are less specific, but with plenty more options. Rooms of prayers, beaches, cities, open valleys; with some time spent learning the menu, people can recreate a realistic area. The rooms can be set to private, but some people may leave the spaces they've created - on purpose, at random, or on accident - free for others to wander into. Sharing is caring, and there's only six of these rooms, you know.

EXPERIMENTING

A lot has happened since they were last here and the scientists of the base will be happy to share their news as well as here reports on what the voidtreckers learned in their last mission.

PROGRESS They have done a lot of research into time and they think they have managed to replicate the Voidtrecker Expresses' ability to respond to catastrophes, they currently have a test crew on a new voidcraft furthering that experiment. They also believe they have found a way to stabilise the tethers of the Voidtreckers enough to loop them to the void base, this will give them an extra level of protection should anything happen to their craft. They are also very interested in speaking to the scientists found on system ##3721010010.

They will once again take any help in research or experiments and will be very interested in doing health checks on the newer voidtreckers.

2. REACHING OUT. At the top of the void base is an area with a clear domed roof, allowing in the light of the void. Here voidtreckers can attempt to reach out, to strengthen their connection with the train and through it try and find those that have left the train.

For those that did this last time they will find it easier now, practice and a lot of atuning make it feel easier to do, easier to reach out towards those specs of light. Those who put in a lot of work feel like they can almost touch them now, just a bit further and they could reach out and pluck them from the vastness.

It is still very hard work. It's easy to get lost in the void, though the room has ministry workers who are highly trained and will be able to help anyone who needs it.

They do say it might be easier to go in pairs, to meditate together and help guide each other, using each others tethers as a touch point. Anything is worth a try.

Rescued Scientists

As the days go by the four scientists venture out of their room a little more. They are always friendly when approached but keep themselves to themselves. When it is announced that they will be heading towards the void base they make more of an effort to approach others.

A friendly nod and a "Is this seat free?" Is a tentative start to a conversation.

"It is," Kaiba nods, letting the poor scientist sit. He knows they're taking them into a stressful situation, but if he can help...he'll try.

"We didn't have much time to explain what's happening before. So...on the base, they're researching a number of questions. I'm sure they'll be ready to listen to you."

The Doctor is aimlessly wandering around before finding a spot to sit and look out from The Void Base, "Yes! Hallo, who are you?"

Amaya is a bit reflective these days, sitting on a bench and just...watching people, for a time. All of what's going on is at a level of technology so far beyond her she's just accepting it as she does magic in her world.

But she's good at accepting, and nods in a friendly way when approached.

Bulma tends to approach things head-on, as a starter. Their rescued scientists holing up in their room instead of mixing in with them after being rescued... it isn't surprising, necessarily, but she would have thought that they might at least be a bit more social. And let's face it - Bulma wants to know what these scientists were working on, maybe trade a little bit of theorem or something instead of waiting to see when they would come out of hiding, so to speak.

She's working away on some bit of equation for an invention in progress when the question comes, blue eyes turning up to see who's speaking to her.

"Oh, sure." A little, careless gesture to sit follows with a smile. "I don't mind."

Kaiba has been told off for working himself into the ground on this mission repeatedly. He's promised to take some time off from the struggle, and so he decides to venture into the simulation room. After a moment of thought, he sets the display to a place where he'd feel at peace: a mountain in the morning. There's a stone slab here where he sits, slightly hunched over as he breathes in the simulated air...and yawns.

"I oughta take this VR tech for myself...later...."

Yup, he has to rub his eyes. Someone was up late.

This part, at least, Kaiba feels a little more confident about. He jumps right back into this work, smiling a little more than is natural for him as he takes in the familiar room. If he sees anyone who looks newer at this or less confident, he'll walk over to invite them.

"Want to join? I know it'll feel like a lot of nothing at first, but finding the tethers can actually help. Believe it or not."

1. Training

[After arriving at the void base, Masumi heads for the gym to sneak in some practice. She's pushing herself today, setting a hologram to mimic her particular fighting style in order to give herself a challenge.

The best moment to talk to her might be when she stops for a breather, stepping back from the hologram to take a quick break before continuing. Or just watch, she'll probably ask what's up once she hits her break.]

2. Reaching Out

[Eventually it comes time to go see about the meditation efforts. Masumi hangs about the edges of the room, wanting to join in but uncertain of the fact that she'll need to strengthen her connection to the train to do it.

Given she wants to go home at some point, strengthening that connection would not be ideal, even if the attempts at reaching out are important.]

Training Room

Usagi can't help but immediately head for the Voidbase's training area. She had so much fun the last time training here, she had to go again. Once more transformed into Sailor Moon, Usagi went at it with her holographic self, testing herself against an opponent who knew everything she knew.

There was a little bit of herself that enjoyed such an act and she wasn't afraid to admit that side of her, no matter how odd it was.

Simulation Room

Usagi had got curious and wandered into one of the various Simulation Rooms offered. She blinked in confusion as she saw the room she was in - a strange obstacle course with two paths. One path seemed dangerous and treacherous, filled with various pits and traps. The other seemed... playful? Filled with ball pits and other things.

"Huh. Seems like someone wants to taunt us..." she mused.

This had been Rapunzel's first trip to this place and honestly she was having a good time right now. Well about as good as one can when the reason for it was meant to be serious work.

But oh, this looked like fun.

Fitness and Swim

Bless their little socks, there's a pool. If there is one activity she enjoys above all other things, it's getting to swim. There's a freedom to it she never imagined before getting to try it at stops the train has made since she arrived here. So, she grabs the first swimsuit she can that she finds aesthetically pleasing - she likes purple, and goes with a purple two-piece - and dives in like a porpoise.

She opts not to do laps so much as gentle movements, and can be found floating on her back, blond hair spread out underneath her in the water, a look of contentment on her face. Whatever else is coming, there can be this moment.

Training

In retrospect, her request to the computer to conjure an opponent that could match her was an error.

Namely because of the inordinate processing time it takes to comply, which she's sure must be aggravating to someone. Worse still, after all that, what appears is a let down - she's pinned the construct in thirty seconds. As the combat ends, she waves to it. She doesn't know if what they create here are sentient or not - but she is who she is.

"You did your best," she says before the construct is gone. "Next time will go better."

What she could do with now is a flesh-and-blood opponent who might actually put her to some trouble, she who is almost good enough to defeat Jedi in hand-to-hand.

Reaching Out

She will be on hand to try, certainly - though it's an open question, to her at least, whether or not she can achieve the state necessary. Quite frankly, being able to do so is a test to her: of just how real her brain is. She feels like she's closer to humanity than she ever has been, fully confident in her personhood. But there are still questions to be answered.

"The construct not enough for you?" Trunks asked, albeit a bit shyly. He and Guri had interacted--how could they not on the train? But neither ever seemed to find a chance to do more than just the usual pleasantries. "Want a partner?"

Green Thumbs, Open Air

It takes her some time to figure out how to do what she wants, but it's worth it when it happens. She's been training hard, which is nothing unusual for her - but she also hangs a descriptive, welcoming sign (that does specify it's for everyone and to wear something for everyones' comfort.) outside the room because she's more than willing to share the space with those who - like her - work hard and need good relaxation.

What she's recreated is a winter area - with a large, cedar sauna house inside of it. She herself is warmly ensconced within, wearing a two piece bandeau swimsuit. She's just pouring some water on the hot stones, to create a bit more steam in the lovely hothouse she's created, before sitting back down, leaning her head back and closing her eyes.

Just the thing for put-upon muscles. It's one of the best ways to be sweaty in the world, really.

Reaching Out

She'd avoided this the last time, in large part because it didn't make any sort of sense to her - a lot of what they do is beyond her, so she has to just take what they say on faith. But this time, given the stakes as she now understands them...it feels important to try.

Sonya found the sauna by accident, exploring the garden simulations in order before deciding on which she'd figure on.

The door marked land drew most of her attention, recalling summers and the rare holiday on Briggs' farm and helping with chores. Those visits were often enough that there was no romanticism in how difficult the work could be, but compared to the burden of the military, it was a holiday indeed-she certainly saw why Jax gravitated towards it soon as he retired.

Yet she knew a sauna when she saw one, especially one considered 'old fashioned' and not attached to any sort of health spa. She got close enough to see if there were any occupants inside, and laughed when it was clear this was someone else's idea.

Carefully, she knocked on the glass door.

Though she isn’t necessarily a beefy self-trainer like her husband and son.. Bulma does like to participate in a little bit of gym activity. One does not become Bulma Briefs as she is known just sitting around. Making wishes on dragon balls has helped, of course, but in the absence of her more magical help.. she’s had to go back to gym training.

At least part time, anyway, when she isn’t snacking or sitting in the lab and a bit too buried in that ever stuffed journal full of plans to fuss with it.

Today finds a motivated Bulma finishing up on her latest bout of laps, pulling herself up and on to the poolside to sit and catch her breath. She’ll spot someone looking a bit indecisive about hopping in and assure them cheerily :

“The water’s pretty warm!”

Walking in to the simulation room from the others outdoors may be a bit of shock, once Bulma’s gotten done with the one she’s in. A little bit of fancy finger work and here she is, settled in to her living room at home, in West City’s Capsule Corp home base. Those new to the architecture will no doubt take note that things are.. well.. very round in this home. The ceilings are high and soaring, with many windows to let in all the natural light.

It's a place that’s as rich as it looks, with only the best if everything from the couches to the rugs, even the rarely-used kitchen that sprawls across from the living area, purposefully large for entertaining guests and their rather large and boisterous ‘extended family’ of Z Fighters.

Bulma’s settled cross-legged on a teal toned couch, a blanket spread over her lap, quietly soaking it all in.

“I haven’t been home in I don’t know how long…” She notes to anyone that wanders in, and sighs. “So I thought I’d just make it, for a little while.”

> MEDITATION

Bulma’s biggest road block in anything to do with training has always been, and will always will be, meditation. The requirement to be still, both in body and mind, has proven immensely difficult for her no matter how often she attempts it, Vegeta’s pressing or Trunks’ encouragement. Even now, with much practice, she finds it difficult to settle in, her always racing mind finding it hard to reach stillness.

But here she is, showing up to attempt reaching out anyway, though she looks less than thrilled to be there, sighing loudly.

“Well… Let’s see what we can get to today.”

To no one's surprise, Trunks can easily be found once again at the combat gym. Once more he is engaged with his sword out, against two beings who look, for all purposes, human. Except in their eyes--their eyes are inhumanly cold.

Or he might be engaged against a different and far more alien looking being. He's pushing himself, and pushing the combat simulators. Be careful, but do feel free to interrupt or ask questions.

Lounge
Far more rarely, he actually can be found in one of the lounges. Taking a break, possibly even with an E-Reader. He also occasionally poking his head into the Gaming Room. Someone's earned himself a break, after all.

Reaching out
Trunks was one of those they tested last time, so he'll check in briefly--but then see about helping out again. This time by reaching out for other void-treckers and other tethers in general. He's not afraid to go it alone, even though it's recommended they do so in pairs...

Or offer to play an endless variety of games, including those she's also unfamiliar with. ]

[ There's enough training in their own gym, working with the other passengers, that she's not worried about continuing her own routines - she goes straight for checking in and learning about the specialized equipment. She'll take anything she can handle, and work alongside anyone else trying to learn them.

Or you can catch her working out how to use the more advanced training dummies, seeing how she can instruct them to fight her to practice moves that are less safe to practice at full speed with people.

Cleaning Duty

The crew may not be sleeping on the train at the moment, but it still needs to be taken care of. And, with most people taking advantage of the opportunity to stretch their legs in the comparatively larger voidbase, there’s less people in the way on the train, so it seems to Rezo a good opportunity to work on his team’s assigned chore.

And thus, one morning after breakfast, Rezo will be at work in the passenger areas on the train. Putting things away, sweeping, dusting, mopping and wiping down surfaces, etc. Occasionally singing or humming as he works, just to really complete the domestic image. He makes up for not being able to necessarily see where there’s dirt by being very thorough and meticulous about the whole thing.

Archival Research

While there isn’t the same big rush to call in researchers that there was during the last visit, Rezo is pleased to find that the archives are still open. There was a lot of data to go through last time, and he feels like he only skimmed the surface of what was available. From practically the first day they arrive, Rezo will be claiming a corner of the archives where he will be spending a great deal of time tick-tapping away at a computer, flipping through books and files, and running his fingers over a braille display.

Reaching Out

It’s been a week since Fai’s departure. Their Jema’Grethy connection, randomly forged as it was, perhaps wasn’t as deep as others that were formed, but it was enough of one for Rezo to be unsettled when platform day came around and Fai vanished into the void. The man had been kind, in a strange, nonchalant way, and he deserves better than to be lost forever in an endless sea. And Rezo thinks he ought to try doing something, before he loses anyone else.

(Amazing that he has people to lose now.)

Of course, knowing you ought to do something and being able to do it are different things. Rezo has done meditation before, but not with the express goal they have here. And opening up, reaching out to the void- it’s somewhat nerve racking. And as he kneels in the meditation room, there’s a frown set heavy on his face.

The Doctor scans his SCA pad and the list* of places that come up, The Doctor quickly reads through some of them goes, "I remember being thar. That was a long time ago..." Until finally, seeing 'Gallifrey' and clicks on that without thinking. Inside, this display comes up. The way The Doctor looks at the UnEarthly looking place is clearly, home. He also seems shocked at what he's looking at for a moment because it's been so long and the last time he saw Gallifrey, it was burning. Casually, and like a child walking back home, wanders in...


Archival Research

Outside of the research for the mission, he pauses at the computer because he has some of his own questions he's a bit curious about. Like what universe is Rose in? Would there be a possible way to get to her?

In his computer search types in - Rose Tyler and stops. He doesn't command the machine to do anything. Because even if he could find what universe she is in, how would he get there? Should he even be doing this?

The other thing lingering is how others know, somehow. Time Lords, after all, aren't supposed to splinter. He types in, The Doctor and does command the computer to search. In which, different faces pop up as he slowly scrolls through the screen and he sees his First-Tenth faces on the photo file. The question is, does he click more?

It takes a little while to get the settings right, but eventually high rows of hedges begin to emerge in the simulation room. Cobblestone paths follow, then fountains and statues, and finally bursts of flowers: lilies, roses, nightshade, violets, all adding their color and grace to the winding routes of the growing maze.

Go further into the garden and you'll hear snatches of music, growing ever louder as you draw nearer to the center of the simulation. There you'll find Zelda, spread out on the grass with an ebook in hand, humming along absently to the songs coming from her SCA.

ii. training

She watches from the sidelines for a while, noting the many unfamiliar fighting styles on display, before trying her hand at one of the dummies. It's an interesting idea, being able to program what she wishes, and she considers a moment before setting her parameters.

What emerges is an opponent a little taller than she, fast and flexible and armed with a short sword like the one she carries. There's a grim smile on her face as she looks on.

"Well, Impa," she murmurs to herself, "Shall we see how negligent I've been, since last we met?"

The Void is itself, all phantasmagoria and false hopes, and every time Zelda thinks she might reach out to cup some true light in her hand it never seems to be where she thought. At the end of another session she begins to rise from her cross-legged position on the floor and looks toward anyone else who's been there for a while.

"Would anyone care for a drink? I could use a bit of a break."

The act of meditating in and of itself hasn’t posed any problems, but trying to reach out is… Well, half the time Rezo is afraid it’s a bad idea and the other half he simply feels foolish trying, and so far none of the time has had any results.

Zelda’s speaking up is as good an excuse for him to stop as any, so he sighs and unfolds himself as he climbs to his feet.

“I think this calls for some tea, if it’s available.”

Bruno searched through the available TV shows the media rooms had to offer. Yeah, the train had a cinema car but whenever he went there someone else was always using it already, and it felt rude to ask them to change it just for him. The smaller screens were much more ideal.

He grinned when he found what he was looking for, and happily plopped down on a couch as the fist episode of a telenovela series, 'Amor Bajo Las Estrellas', began playing on the screen. And for anyone who came in late, Bruno would be happy to catch them up on all the melodrama.

Simulations

Bruno flicked through the various simulations available, unsure which one he should pick. The place he wanted most to see was probably too specific for the machine to replicate. Besides, it wouldn't mean much without the people there. There was something he sort of wanted to see again though.

Finding the listing for 'ocean beaches', Bruno picked one at random, then stepped inside the simulation. He found himself on a sandy beach bordered by rugged rocks and lush jungle, with water that seemed to shimmer in rainbow colors. "Wow...", he said. It wasn't quite as impressive as the one he'd seen before, because that one had been real. But this? Was still more than good enough for him.

Daia pokes his head into several of the rooms on the way here, curious to what simulations were and how they worked. It looks kind of like the VR back on the train, honestly. But this one's different. He's not wearing a headset or using controllers for it. And it's not exactly a game... he thinks.

And when he walks into Bruno's, it's amazingly beautiful. He's never seen anything like it.

"Wow," Daia echoes, as he steps closer to Bruno, taking in the sight. "It's so pretty."

He looks to Bruno after a moment, hoping he isn't intruding.

Open Air- Closed to Roxas and Xion

Lea had really just been scrolling through the available simulations to see what was there when he'd spotted it. Not quite believing it at first, he'd called it up and gone inside the simulation bay to check. But it was. Twilight Town. And the simulation would even let them get up on the clocktower. It was perfect. And might actually make Xion receptive enough to really listen to him and Roxas.

So when he told them he had the perfect location for ice cream that evening, and to meet him in Simulation Bay 3, he'd already be there, sitting on the ledge, and waiting to see their faces when they saw his surprise.

Lea was taking advantage of some of the downtime on the station to just relax and do a bit of people-watching with a bit more variety that on the train. He had a mug of tea next to him and a notebook in front of him that he'd sometimes doodle in. Wonder what he was drawing?

Training- OTA

Not really the type for meditating, Lea still wanted to be ready to help out. And with a bit more room than on the train, he could let loose a bit more. He could be found going to town on some holographic dummies with Keyblade, chakrams, and magic in one of the training rooms. Best stay back until anyone stays back until they announced their presence, lest they accidentally be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Xion was confused by the request, but of course she went. Why wouldn't she? But when she entered, she stopped in the door way and stared. Just... stared. Her eyes under her hood were huge for a moment. But just a moment. She flung out a hand, creating a Dark Corridor. She rushed through it to come out on the side of the ledge where they always came out, to walk around the corner. All of it so familiar. So very...

And there was Axel. Sitting on the ledge. She pushed down her hood, smiling brighter than the setting sun. Roxas was actually on the Train, and she presumed he was coming too, so she sat in her usual spot to leave space for him. There was a warmth like from the sun, but from inside. She didn't understand it, but didn't examine it closely. She was too focused on where they were.

"We... We really made it back...?" she asked, breathless.

Without her having to be forgotten?! They were done with the Train and just back? Axel had somehow... somehow found them a way back to Twilight Town?

Around the station

Not again! Najaran hunched her shoulders as she moved through the halls. For those used to the hyper and cheerful young girl this could come as a shock. Unless they saw her last time they were here. She didn't do well with this place.

Well no... it wasn't the place.

It was the fact that they weren't alone here. Specifically that there were so many refugees from the world where she died here. So many people she failed. People who lost their who homes, and maybe their friends and family because she failed. She had been supposed to save them. And she had died. And then came back. But their homes didn't come back, their world, their friends and family didn't come back.

Twice now she had faced the World Eaters. And twice she had walked while the people she was there to protect had died. She didn't know the term survivor's guilt, yet she felt it with every fiber of her being. She didn't see the ones they had saved. Just the ones she failed. Just the holes where other people should have been. Where a whole other world should have been.

She leaned against a wall and sniffled, scrubbing at her face with her arm, trembling. For all her big talk about finding a plan... was she really any closer than she had been last time she was here? No. Not at all.

She wished Zenith was here, and she hated herself for that thought. But the Lord of flies... she only escaped that because he had thundered in to try and kill her and had accidentally gotten in the way of the others who were trying to do the same thing. Then with the Dark Lord, the Lord of Earth... He had accidentally set it free after all their hard work to maintain and protect the seal but in the end... They only won because of Zenith. He attacked her at all turns, constantly tried to kill her... And he didn't care about helping others... but he was what the Train needed to stop these World Eaters. Not her. What good was she?

Kigi had called her a Mistral... but what good was she alone? She was a kid with her cards and a snarky staff who was with her to the end and beyond. But it wasn't enough. In Bisteam she had Alta and Joaquin and Ganz. And Dumdum's soldiers even turned around and helped. And Zenith.

And she understood the problem could well be that she was trying to act alone. But when no one else would stand with her... what was she supposed to do?

Najaran sank to the floor against the wall, starting to cry. It was too much. It was all just... too much, being here again.

Reaching out
She couldn't do this. Not alone. She needed help. She knew this was supposed to be reaching out for others who had been on the Train and were gone. And she did that. Glorfindel. Curufin. Mina. Della.

She even felt herself reaching for Duo. It was weird, he was here... he was back but... it wasn't the same. He didn't remember her. Something out there ate his memories like a tasty snack. She missed him, missed her friend. So much. She was doing her best but...

But they weren't the only people she reached for. She didn't know if it would work... but she tried anyway. People from home who could help. Her Master front and foremost. But Alta, who was so good at plans. Joaquin who could com up with a scientific solution to almost anything. Even if he forgot basics like packing bandages and that food should be yummy. Ganz who just... never gave up, never ran away no matter what. Even Zenith. She'd take him trying to kill her again. A hundred times over. If one of those times he took down the World Eaters... it would be worth it. So long as she could keep him from hurting the Train or anyone on it.

"I don't care if you try to kill me," she whispered desperately. "I don't even care if you want me to say you're the best or whatever... just... show up... okay?" she pleaded, trying to focus on Zenith. He always busted in on her when she was in places he shouldn't have been able to track her to. Let him show up here. Let him try to kill her. She'd even accept him succeeding, since it didn't stick.

"Najaran...." Goligan asked, worry thick in his quiet voice. He was worried about her and also trying to tell her they weren't alone anymore. She got the first part, missed the second.

"I know. Everyone will be in danger if he does show up... and no way is he the good guy type... but every time he's tried to kill me he wound up saving the world... if he can destroy the World Eaters... It'll be worth it. I can protect everyone else from him..." Probably. Maybe. Her shoulders sagged. "I wish my Master was here," she whispered. Not realizing that someone might not realize her Master was not the one she had mentioned trying to kill her...

Around the Station

Leia would freely admit that she was rather distracted. If the past platform and what the Ministry had said were any indication, their efforts were starting to bear fruit. But there was still so much they didn't know, including much of anything about the World Eaters.

Still, she couldn't fail to pick up on Naja's distress as she neared her location, and following the turbulent emotions back to their source led her to the young Cepter, slumped against a wall, crying. She found herself filled with a mix of sympathy and exasperation. Because while Naja's was obviously upset and in need of comfort, now was really not the best time for an emotional crisis.

"Oh, Naja," she said gently, but with a bit of a sigh, bending down to rest a hand on her shoulder. "Come on now; let's get you back on your feet. Maybe take this somewhere a little quieter, hmm?" Because Naja's distress had begun to attract concerned attention from passers by.

Locked to Adrien
He'd been here before, and knew the layout more or less. Mostly he knew where the cafeteria and the pool were. But now with Adrien here... He wanted to find his bro and show him around. But... he wasn't sure if he should be wandering as Spark or as Gar.... Well, Adrien would let him know. As soon as he found him....


Simulation - OTA
It was hard not to smother Adrien, now that he was here. Spark wanted to spend all his time with his bro. But he knew that he had to let him have some time to himself too. Or well, time just him and Plagg. So he decided to go back to the simulation rooms. He just wanted one with a good lake for fishing. But when he jumped onto the controls to try and set it up...

These things were hard to manipulate as a cat, and at first he had been regretting that he hadn't changed to Gar. Until the doors opened and he saw what he had created.

Then he was glad to be Spark.

He jumped down to stare at the wooded lake. Not just any lake with trees around it, but...

Spark ran inside. It was fake. He knew it. A complex illusion. But still... it felt so real, even smelled so real... that he kept finding himself looking for Dejah. Kept sniffing for Dominic.

More time spent inside showed him places it differed from the woods Dejah lived in, saw all the time. But even different as it was from Dejah's veiw, it was still so close to being home again. Last time he had been here, Bruno had shown him a glimpse of home. And now another one.

Home. Was this the universe' way of telling him he could go home again? That all this was nearly over? For one moment it was painfully tempting. But he couldn't. He closed his eyes.

Luna. Dominic. Miranda. There were so many people who this could have been, trying to loosen his tether. To try and bring him home.

"I cat-n't leave yet..." he said softly. If they could reach this far, he was sure they would hear him. "Adrien's here now and... the kid still needs me... you know...?" He wanted to go home. Desperately. But he wanted to stay with Adrien, even if it was only just a little longer, even more. Especially if he was right about Gabriel. He couldn't leave his brother to face that alone. Wouldn't.

But even if he couldn't go home...

Spark walked to the edge of the lake and settled in, laying down so close his paws were nearly in the water. He rested his head on the paws, nose close to the surface, and watched for fish with a heavy sigh.

Reaching Out

This one was easier. Because he could look like he was asleep but still focus on what they were supposed to be doing. Reaching out. Focusing. Trying to reach those who had once been here. Curufin came to mind, because Adrien and he would get along wonderfully. And Nita. But he was also reaching out generically. There wasn't much he could do as Spark to help. But this? This he could do...

Though realistically, the odds of him actually falling asleep during it were high...

Training/Combat Gym

It had been some time since he and his boy had trained together. He needed to study, of course, but he suspected that the training area was where Link would be. And Possibly Shadow. So he planned to go there first for a time, and then move on the his studies.

For those who had never fought alongside, or against, the diminutive mage he probably wouldn't seem that much a threat. After all, he seemed unable to even walk on his own, given he was floating on a spit of land inside a pastel bubble. His staff was unbalanced and unwieldy looking. He was also tiny wearing what looked like an elaborate costume that was way too large for him. Really he looked like you could destroy him with a kick.

Unless of course you could sense magic, because he had it in spades. Unless you realized just how much energy it took to float everywhere. And also... where did he get the ground that he was standing on inside his bubble?

Either way, until he spotted Link or Shadow, he'd be happy to discuss sparring with someone else.

Progress
Of course he was going to help with research again. And more... he was going to be right back to copying every tome he can get his grubby hands on whenever he wasn't needed. Feel free to bother him. If you can.

Reaching out
He would also spend some time on this. Because he was from Ceiphro and then had gone on to Naut. Both places where will was very nearly everything. And he was one of the strongest wills in Ceiphro. So he would put that considerable will towards the task of helping those who were lost like his Link find their way back.

Training

Link had with him a sword that he'd used Bending to create. There was a stylized wolf's head on the hilt and the scabbard had representations of the Spiritual Stones etched into it.

What he wanted more than anything was his sword, the Master Sword, but he refused to make a copy. Link felt it would be little more than a "husk" for reasons he couldn't quite pin down, and that feeling had such wrongness to it, the hero couldn't entertain the thought for more than a second.

Once he saw Clef waiting he smiled and moved his way. "Are you sure you want to spar?"

Training- Sharpshooting

One thing the station offered that the train really couldn't? Was a place to practice with her blaster. Leia had been offered one of the Ministry issued training weapons to use when she'd arrived at the practice room but had politely turned it down, preferring to use her own. On the lowest power setting- one used specifically for training like this- it would be equally harmless and much more familiar to her.

She'd chosen the highest difficulty setting- no point in doing it otherwise- stepped into position in the center of the room, and took a deep breath. Focusing. Then the program kicked on and she fired off her first shot. She'd been going for a little while now, and according to the score board, had yet to miss. Though well, if anyone thought they could match her or do better, she wouldn't mind a bit of friendly competition. Just don't get between her and a target; the practice beam wouldn't actually hurt anyone, but it would still sting like crazy.

Training- Lightsaber

Leia moved through the motions of lightsaber katas, her movements slow and smooth. Less training for combat, more an exercise in focus. Preparing herself mentally and physically for the effort of reaching out into the Void. She probably wouldn't pause in her motions to sit down and talk, but well, if she could float upside down and levitate rocks while her brother taunted her, she could certainly hold a conversation while she exercised. It might even help prepare her better for the chaos of the Void.

Reaching out

Unlike some of those present, Leia actually had training when it came to this sort of stretching out with one's mind and senses. So when it came time to reach out into the Void a second time, she looked for someone who she thought looked as though they could use a bit of extra help and support and sat down next to them. "How's it been going so far?", she said. "I know that it's difficult, but maybe we'd have some better luck if we worked together?"

Training - Lightsaber

Haneul can create something akin to a lightsaber if he wants to, but he definitely can't move like that. He's pretty impressed.

I. Training (Gym)

Well, far be it from him to not take advantage of state-of-the-art gym facilities while they're there (though he tries very hard not to think about the fact that said gym is on a base somewhere in the Void). Haneul's still not quite clear on how much exercise he even needs, given the whole 'spirit' thing, but he figures it can't hurt to keep it up, and besides which it's something to do.

For the most part, he splits his exercise time between the gym and the pool, though he also makes a point of asking about dance practice facilities. No sense letting himself get rusty.

II. Training (Combat)

He would really rather not do this; it reminds him a little too much of what his rogue government kidnappers had been trying to turn him into. But it's not really fair of him to expect Lucy to do all the fighting for him, and having to take time to make the switch could possibly get them in trouble. More trouble. If they're in a fight, they're probably already in trouble, aren't they?

...He's getting off-track.

The batons are probably one of his better bets, but he also needs to be able to work with his light powers. Also his aim. He really misses the times when the worst he had to deal with was, like, fist fights...

...Right. Off-track again.

At any rate, he's here, doing his best not to back out. He could probably use someone to help him with that.

III. Training (...Art?)

Of course, then he learns that the dummies are made out of hard light, and... well. That's kind of his bailiwick now, isn't it? His powers include light manipulation, and hey, here are some light constructs to manipulate.

He's halfway sure the Ministry trainers would not approve of their fancy sophisticated hard-light combat dummies being used as bases for creating light sculptures, but if asked, Haneul will doggedly insist that yes, this is relevant training for him, and absolutely not a way for him to not think about being an escaped government science experiment in a quasi-governmental military-esque training facility. Okay? Okay.

IV. Reaching Out

Haneul's a little hesitant to get involved with this experiment - mostly because he's not sure if strengthening connections to the train won't have other weird effects down the line - but he also doesn't want to be completely useless while he's here, and there are people who aren't here that he still worries about. So here he is, doing his best to learn his way around the techniques he's being taught while trying not to get lost in the void.

Technically, he's already in a pair, but he's not sure he and Lucy have separate tethers - he's actually halfway sure they don't, what with the whole sharing-a-body thing - so he's definitely not going to say no to a little extra help.
