Let it Snow: Blue Start

The moment the doors open for purple to jump the train is speaking again. “Blue team to doors. Void shift imminent. Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one” The train lurches and shudders as the windows flash the colour of the void for a split second before it shakes again and they are back in that frozen tundra.

The doors open and blue can jump down into a large snowdrift. They are at the foot of an impressive mountain range. Snow swirls around them, the wind hows. Ahead of them, half obscured by snow is a tunnel entrance.

Even getting there is exhausting, wading through the snow. Inside there is no snow but it is cold. The walls and floor shine with ice and the way is treacherous. It is pitch black.

Their task is to find those hiding in the tunnels. Some have formed makeshift camps in large caverns, others have fled into the small tunnels and have gotten themselves lost.

The voidtreckers are lucky to at least have a map on their SCA though it does not show where anybody else it. It is time to start the task of rounding everyone up and making sure they can survive the storm.

Terra watched Namine with interest, not entirely sure of what she was doing. He looked at his own watch but decided he would have her show him what she did later.

Turning around, the keyblade wielder was immediately on guard duty. He had to keep Namine safe for Riku.

Looking back over his shoulder he nodded.

"Ready?"

Naminé had never been a strong fighter. She had her special type of magic and the mental fortitude to learn the best way to manipulate and use. The watches were something new but Naminé was able to catch on quickly enough to pull up the map and use it now.

"The town is that way." She pointed in the snow but didn't see much beyond the blizzard. "Then I think there are caves over there." Her finger shifted in another direction before looking up at Terra.

"I think we should go to the town and see who needs help getting somewhere safe."

'You first' Terra mentally thought as Namine pointed out people getting somewhere safe. He was fine because he was a fighter and could wield his keyblade. But Namine wasn't a fighter that he knew of. He just nodded to her.

"Alright. Guess we'll go to the caves first because that's where people have gone to get out of the snow." He had to get them moving because otherwise they might freeze. And Terra was absolutely having none of that.

His blue eyes kept a steady watch, unwilling to put Namine in any danger. He was lucky to have her here and he knew it so there was no room for error or anything along those lines. She wasn't going to get hurt, he would personally see to that.

"Alright. That's this way." She glanced down at the map and then back up at Terra.

Naminé was confident and trying her best to hide how cold she felt. She wasn't accustomed to the snow and it was uncomfortable. It wasn't just the cold but the frigged wet of melting snow against her legs and feet.

She wanted to be strong and keep herself, Terra and the people of this world safe. It didn't matter that she wasn't much of a fighter, there were still ways that she could help. "Terra?" She paused in their path and pointed out towards the white sheet of snow in front of them. "I think I saw something move there. Do you think its one of the towns people? We should help them."
orangewayfinder: (Get on that)

[personal profile] orangewayfinder 2020-02-04 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
Following behind Namine, Terra didn't stray too far. Something might jump out or be ready to hurt her and who or whatever might have that plan would find a keyblade in their face.

The cold was freezing and he doubted either one of them had been prepared enough for the kind of cold that made him feel like his blood was freezing. So when she stopped them, blue eyes looked ahead with a nod.

It was kind of hard to see, but he thought that he could barely make out a form.

"Let's go."

"Ah. Right."

She followed at his side but the depth of the snow was beginning to rise and Naminés shorter height was making it difficult for her to keep up. It was for that reason that she nearly didn't seen the shifting form in the snow rise into a large white bear.

"Terra?!" Her hand reached out to him but she stumbled and knelt in the snow in front of her. "Watch out!"
orangewayfinder: (Back off I'll take you on)

[personal profile] orangewayfinder 2020-02-04 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Namine's tone of voice warned him. Gently he circled his arm around her waist and put her behind him. "You stay safe, I'll take care of this."

His Earthshaker keyblade manifested itself in his hand and there was a scowl on his face. No one and nothing was going to hurt Namine, not on his watch.

Standing about five feet away, Terra leaped in, aiming his keyblade for the snow bear's side.

His arm was warm as it encircled her slender frame and moved her so that she was safely seated behind him. She tried to move her legs but they were frozen by either the snow or the oncoming threat.

There had to be a way for her to help.

She looked down at the snow around her and slowly began to draw familiar animal like shapes in the white fluff. "Remember." Her voice was soft as she slowly attempted to lace her magic around the snow creatures. "He's your friend. Don't fight..."

The bear growled and roared, Terra barely missed an oncoming claw, and his keyblade was almost taken with it. A meaner scowl showed on the man's face and he yelled.

"Your fight is with me!" Anything to keep it from attacking Namine who was doing..something. But he couldn't get distracted because he had to keep her safe. The snow creature roared again and then whimpered and lowered its head.

Blue eyes were confused and he turned to look at Namine. The bear got a strange look and the keyblade wielder went over to her. She looked so frozen, and that's when he decided he'd pick her up and carry her once they got out of this mess.

Her fingers were tipped with red from drawing in the snow but when Terra stepped over she smiled. "I stopped him. It's safe now." Her voice trembled slightly from the cold and when Terra lifted her, she could do nothing but curl against his chest for warmth.

The bear made a soft huffing noise behind them and then began to follow as if they were all returning home together.

"I changed its memories." Naminé whispered softly. "So we were friends."
orangewayfinder: (But...)

[personal profile] orangewayfinder 2020-02-05 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
He didn't know what he was doing but he had to keep Namine warm. So once she curled against his chest, he dismissed Earthshaker and held onto her.

Terra looked disbelieving at the bear but if it wasn't going to attack them, that was definitely better than the alternative. He even gave Namine an odd look but went with it.

There was plenty of surprise with her changing its memories though. "How did you do that?"

"It's my power." She closed her eyes and rested against him as she explained. "When I found you before, I said I was a witch. That's because I can control memories of others. It was why the Organization kept me in Castle Oblivion." Where Ven had been sleeping. "They wanted to use that power to manipulate Sora and Riku."

And she had listened to the organization.

It'd all been her fault.

"I'm sorry."
orangewayfinder: (I guess so)

[personal profile] orangewayfinder 2020-02-06 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
He wasn't sure what to say to something like that. It went far beyond anything he could imagine and the brown head shook. "It wasn't your fault if they held you captive."

He remembered meeting some of them, but the ones he met like Axel, Roxas and Shion were fellow keyblade wielders.

"I could have not listened or tried to protect them sooner." She'd been scared and alone. "I wish I could make it up to them..." Even now.

It was almost as if she deserved her fate of being trapped on this train, helping people and freezing. Terra on the other hand deserved to finally be with his friends again... not stuck with her.

Terra shook his head. "They're fine. And I'm sure whatever you did, if we see them or if you go back, you can tell them." There was a smile against the cold and the wind that had suddenly kicked up. He had Namine in his arms and he couldn't let her down.

When it stopped howling and swirling the snow to the point it was hard for Terra to see, his voice held steady. "And I'm sure they'll forgive you."

Cradling her to him to keep Namine warm, he fought to get to the entrance of the cave and was happy when he saw it. Sure there was ice inside but at least winds wouldn't be biting at them and having the snow blind them.

"Yeah." Naminé hoped that Terra was right. "Thank you Terra."

She waited until they were at the entrance of the cave before opening her eyes and looking up at Terra. The bear was still behind them and once they were inside, it took its place at the edge of the cave to guard them from whatever might have followed; like a good mama snow bear.

"Are we out of the storm?" Her voice was trembling slightly but she was worried about Terra. Neither of them were used to the cold. "Are you okay?"
orangewayfinder: (Almost a smile)

[personal profile] orangewayfinder 2020-02-09 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
"For what?" Honestly Terra had no idea why Namine was thanking him he hadn't done anything.

Blue eyes had stared at the creature, but he'd proceeded in to make sure Namine could rest or whatever. And when she asked if they were out of the storm, he nodded.

"Ya, we're clear." But he made no move to put her down nor even ask. At least the snow wasn't tugging and weighting down his hakama with cold or wet or high drifts anymore. And as he kept walking, he saw light, which were the light of fires.

Fires meant warmth and food. He wasn't okay but he nodded anyway. "We're almost there."

She smiled up at him. "For believing in me." He had faith in her and while she didn't understand why, she was thankful for it. Naminé only hoped that she'd be able to be as great as Terra thought she was.

Her cheeks flushed a light rosy pink as Terra continued to carry her through the cave towards the fires that dotted the distance.

"Terra?" Her lips parted as she looked up at him. "You aren't okay... are you? Are you cold?" She reached out and lightly pressed her hands against his cheeks. Her palms were warm from being curled against her chest and hopefully it was enough to warm him up, at least until they got to the fire.

[personal profile] orangewayfinder 2020-02-12 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
He nodded, focused on the goal of getting out of the cold and getting them somewhere warm. That remained his focus until he got near the team.

Hearing Namine's voice cut through the cold and how stiff he felt. "Ya I'm fine." He really wasn't and as soon as Terra let her go to the other team members, he practically collapsed by the fire.

"Terra?" She reached for him as he left her with the team members to collapse next to the fire. He was exhausted and cold... and it was her fault.

Naminé moved him so that his head was resting on her lap as she gently pulled a warm blanket over his toros and thighs. "Thank you. Rest now. I'll take care of you." Even if all she could do was keep him warm.
