Day 5 Domino: Let it Snow: Preperations

Early Evening

Due to some of the passengers having strange dreams those on the Voidtrecker Express should be expecting something soon and so it is around dinner time on the evening of the fifth day of Domino that everyone's SCA glows with the colour of the void, a holographic message appears with their next mission.

Those going to the dressing car will find the drawers and wardrobes open. Inside are a variety of warm weather clothes, all in team colours. Thick padded winter jackets, waterproof trousers. Hats, gloves, scarves. Thick boots and also a variety of ice skates. There are waterproof covers for a variety of sizes of bags and even some coils of rope.

It seems they are not arriving until the next morning and so they have time to plan as best they can.

Morning: Day Six

No matter if they stayed up late preparing or went to bed early to get some rest before the mission they will wake up the next morning to the morning announcement. "Good morning passengers. Today is day six of the month of Domino. A moment later the voice speaks again. "Our next stop is world#58291. Drop order: Purple, Blue, Red, Orange. Conditions are adverse and so all passengers must be ready to alite swiftly."

There is time for some final preparation.

Romeo is on blue team too and they have had a lot of new people on the blue team since the last mission. The man who played snowball fighting with him is one of them!

But he seems very smart and to know what he is doing. He has had lots of good advice.

Now Romeo is putting the last things into his bag. He has a big blue coat, blue gloves and scarves and a blue hat. It's going to be very cold.

"I won't sir! I got the signal, it's in my pocket so I can get it quick if I get lost!"

He's a bit worried about Joss and Elfnein who are on different teams to him but he knows they have good teammates and so it will be alright!

It's the boy he has seen a while ago. He and the child are on the same team. Lan Wangji is naturally worried. He has trained young children as juniors before.

"That's good." He's very smart, so he knows how to call for help. "I never did catch your name, but I'm Lan Wangji. We will be working together, so your safety is on my hands. It's going to be very cold where we will be goig. If you get lost, call for me or my partner Wei Ying or anyone on the team."

"Oh I know mister Wei Ying. I met him when he first came to the train. He was looking for his friend." His family name had been Lan too. Maybe this mans brother?

He had been a very nice person, so Romeo knows that it would be find to go for him for help! "I'm Romeo!"

With a nod, "Romeo." Tilting his head, "I see you met him. Which friend...?" Lan Wangji took a guess. "Lan Sizhui? That's our son. We adopted him into our clan and he made it on board with us on the train too. He's on another team, team purple. It's going to be my family's first mission together."

Even though Lan Wangji expression is quiet and fixed. "Have you experience previous missions on other worlds before? What it's like?"

"No. Um. Lan Zhan. I think." Where they like the elves, all one big family? He hasn't met Lan Suzhui yet but if he was the son of this man and Wei Ying Romeo was sure he would be friendly and nice!

"I have! I was on two missions before this. The first one we had to protect some wizards on a tower while they did a big spell to stop some bad goblins. The second time we had to protect the orange team and some scientists while they rescued big creatures called Lindusi from a planet that was going to blow up with volcanoes."

Both had been very difficult, but teamwork had won the day!

Oh. "Oh. That's my other name. I'm Lan Zhan. I have two names. Lan Wangji, is my courtesy name and it's what everyone calls me. Lan Zhan is my name of birth where family and friends call me. The Lan is the last name. I'm the friend he's looking for."

He's pink at the tip of his ears. "But that's my..." Husband? "Partner." Yup.

Lan Zhan listened to Romeo's stories of his mission to other worlds. "Wizards. Goblins. Scientists. Planets. These worlds are very interesting. I always knew there's more to the universe than the world I lived in."

"Oh! So he found you then, sir!" That was good. Romeo hadn't thought that people would have two different names. But the explanation made sense and he nodded.

"I don't know if I always knew there was more worlds. But before I came here I was in a place where lots of people came from different universes so I already knew then. Someone had to explain it to me though so I guess I didn't know before."

The worlds were interesting, it was good to see so many different things even if sometimes it was a little bit scary as well.

Lan Zhan is pink at the tip of the ears again and gives a nod. He even smiles softly, a warmth in his chest thinking about his husband, unable to help it. "Yes, he found me."

At his explanation, in contemplation. "Different universes." Lan Zhan finds this mystical and interesting.

"We shall be dropping soon. We're the second team to go. I think we're all good." Unless there's something that needs to be checked before they set foot on the next world when they drop.

"I think we are sir!" Romeo nodded with a grin. "It will be our turn next and we can make sure to help everybody."

It sounded like it was going to be really cold. Romeo made sure his hat was tight on his head and grinned at Lan Wangji. "I'll see you soon sir, when we all jump together!"

That was what had happened on the goblin planet, they had all jumped down off the train and ran towards the tower. There had been less of them now but Blue team had grown a lot, that was a good thing!
