Day 5 Domino: Let it Snow: Preperations
Early Evening
Due to some of the passengers having strange dreams those on the Voidtrecker Express should be expecting something soon and so it is around dinner time on the evening of the fifth day of Domino that everyone's SCA glows with the colour of the void, a holographic message appears with their next mission.
Those going to the dressing car will find the drawers and wardrobes open. Inside are a variety of warm weather clothes, all in team colours. Thick padded winter jackets, waterproof trousers. Hats, gloves, scarves. Thick boots and also a variety of ice skates. There are waterproof covers for a variety of sizes of bags and even some coils of rope.
It seems they are not arriving until the next morning and so they have time to plan as best they can.
Morning: Day Six
No matter if they stayed up late preparing or went to bed early to get some rest before the mission they will wake up the next morning to the morning announcement. "Good morning passengers. Today is day six of the month of Domino. A moment later the voice speaks again. "Our next stop is world#58291. Drop order: Purple, Blue, Red, Orange. Conditions are adverse and so all passengers must be ready to alite swiftly."
There is time for some final preparation.

Preparations
So he's in the dressing car and, much to his surprise there are purple shirts and jackets missing a left arm. He pulls on a thick jacket and rolls his metal arm, testing out the range of motion. He pulls it back off, folding it up and putting it on the pile at his feet. So far he only has one outfit there -- some waterproof pants, thick socks, long underwear, a single-sleeved shirt and jacket. Clearly not enough gear for the mission ahead if he didn't want to wear the same thing for a week straight.
He looks up when Luke approaches, and forces a smile. "Really throwing us in the deep end with this one, huh?" he asks softly.
no subject
"They did that with my first mission too," Luke admitted. "The last one wasn't like this, but I get the feeling that isn't typical."
He paused a moment, his gaze flicking down to Bucky's arm a moment. He didn't know a delicate way to approach this, considering how he reacted before, but being blunt was an unfortunate trait he picked up from his father.
"So, with that arm, you're stronger than a normal human?" he asked. "A brawler?"

no subject
"The best, hunh?" he asked, grinning. "I may need to ask you two for some pointers; I'm useless without a lightsaber or a blaster."
That wasn't entirely true; he at least survived long enough in a hole full of drunkards long enough to... get his lightsaber up, which turned out to be the worst thing he could have done, but that was beside the point.
He shrugged after a moment. "These things tend not to have a timetable. Get in, do the job and help where you can, get back to the train when we're called back," he said, before he paused, giving Bucky a serious look. "The best thing we can do is expect to be surprised by what we face, and adapt as quickly as possible."
Luke paused again, his expression turning a little sheepish. "I've had a... sense of what it will be like out there, but it's not the most reliable thing."
no subject
When Luke mentions a 'sense', he furrows his brow, looking up at him. "What, like you've been there before?" The concept of precognition isn't even remotely on his radar as being something possible outside the movies.
no subject
"No, I've had a vision of what we're up against," he clarified quietly. "It looked like the ice itself was coming alive."
no subject
Bucky's known enough people like that to take Luke's word for it. He's not sure if he should believe the vision, but he's seen and heard enough strange things on this train to at least think it's possible. "Of course it's ice," he sighs heavily. "I guess the good news is it breaks relatively easily, right?" he flexes his metal hand a couple of times. He doesn't like the ice, but maybe punching it will be cathartic.
